That was I great Michael rant, I can just imagine him being so pumped at getting a role and actually excelling... A good intro to Steve, too. The common enemy of Michael had mad many a fast friend it seems.
Author's Response: Thank you! That was my intention (he'd make a really good Bottom, actually--there's a whole scene I didn't include where Bottom bosses around all the other actors and wants to play every part in the play, and that's just screaming Michael to me so I think he'd actually be good at it). Thanks for reading!

Oh Jim, what's going through your mind? Well actually that's pretty easy to suss out. I'm in love with Pam, Dwight is an ass for stealing my sale, beer is good.
A short chapter but still fun. Nice way to bring in Mark and Steve. Should be a lot of fun.
Author's Response: Yeah, I think this is a logical place for him to go (not Poor Richard's, just mentally) after the excitement of Pam's presence wears off. It was a pretty ugh day otherwise...thanks for reading!

Hooray! New story! Loved the set up. Here I was thinking we'd be in for a S9 story but no, we're going way back. A very pleasant surprise to be sure. Lots to unpack too.
Love Lorn Jim is on point throughout everything in this chapter. You can just see how excited he would be to see Pam by herself out of work and the disappointment he feels when Roy is there but also being the grumbling Roy portrayed.
Then to see Michael go on that long speech. Almost seemed like he was channeling his inner Kelly. Of course it makes complete sense since it's Michael and he's given even a shred of the limelight so of course he's going to soak it all up for everything its worth. Even if he's playing Bottom. Great choice there. Very fitting for him.
Loved meeting Steve here. Can't wait to see where this one goes.
Author's Response: Yeah, I basically don't acknowledge the show's plot after S4, so...this is me, doing what I do. I appreciate your feedback: you're right, that was Michael like Kelly, mostly because I simply couldn't think of things to interject for Jim or anyone else during that, so I just let Michael go on. I'm glad it still worked for you. Thanks for reading, and for the usual detailed feedback!

This is really good Michael dialogue! The thing about Todd Packer calling him a power top and Michael not getting at all what he means is dialogue right out of the show.
Author's Response: Thank you! I sometimes find Michael hard to write, so that's really good to hear! Thanks for reading!

Okay, that AWESOME and my curiosity just reached the new level. I have no idea about the direction of your story, but I'm here to find out.
Also... poor Jim. I'm so sorry that this day wasn't 'not a bad day' for him :(
Author's Response: Thank you! I think it's possible, and even likely, that Jim would manage to hold both feelings at once. Yes, Pam's presence made it not a bad day, but at the same time he still lost a lot of money and work. I've tried to explain that a bit in the chapter I just put up. I hope you enjoy! Thanks for reading!

Oh, I'm excited to see you started a new story!
Perhaps it makes me a terrible person, but I really, really like this lovelorn season 1-2 Jim (or, to be precise, I like to watch how he and Pam find understanding earlier than in the show). So, I'm double excited!
And I really like the beginning, especially the choice of the play to watch. And the line 'It was like William Shakespeare was reaching out from the grave and pointing a finger at him, Jim Halpert, and laughing' is great. It's both sad, funny, and ironic (I do hope, though, that Katy remains just the name in the program and the face on the stage...).
Also, I think that's interesting that Jim found a friend. I'm curious about how their friendship will develop.
Thank you, and looking forward to the next chapter!
Author's Response: Thank you! I hope this lives up to your expectations! Katy will reappear, but that's because this is an S1 fic: we're going to go to Hot Girl at least, so she'll make an appearance, but I promise this is not a Katy-centered fic. Thanks for reading!
