Pure Genius.
Author's Response: It's Queen Bey's world, grc. We're all just living in it.

I truly love reading stage direction. Really. And your direction and script notes were the highlight of this for me. It was great characterization without having them say a whole lot outside of a Destiny’s Child song and that is impressive. And I think season six Pam is exactly the Pam that would have jumped into this prank without a second thought. Great job!
Author's Response: Well, if you love reading stage direction, you have very much come to the right place. And I appreciate you saying that - I worry with these cold opens that it's not going to translate, and especially with this one where most of the dialogue is entirely someone else's. Glad you liked it, and thanks for reviewing!

Ok, the sheer genius of some of your lines just blow me away, and I'm just gonna put two examples, otherwise this review would be basically a transcription of your own cold opening.
"BEYONCE is suddenly getting angry and doesn’t know why"
"(shrugs) Dwight always says no battle plan survives first contact with the enemy."
And Angela's talking head was right on point. I can perfectly see her breaking, despite of herself, and trying her best for it not to be too evident.
And of course, Meredith at the end is just the cherry on the perfect sundae.
(Also, I love her)
Thanks so much for writing this one.
Author's Response: I'm really glad you enjoyed this one - it was a fun one to write. And I appreciate you flagging that line about Beyonce's anger, which I kinda cackled at when I first thought of it.
I always love the little moments where we see Angela's rigid exterior cracking, and it just seemed too appropriate to pass up here. What can this office unite over if they can't unite over Beyonce?
Meredith was too much fun to play with here.
Thank you for taking the time to review!

Oh, I like it so much! It's funny, it's silly, and it's entirely in character of all the office inhabitants. I've never heard that song before, but I enjoyed it.
You nailed the office atmosphere perfectly. Thank you!
Author's Response: I'm really happy to hear that from someone who doesn't know the song - I kinda felt like Destiny's Child nostalgia was what made a lot of the fic, and it's great to know it worked even without it. (You'll have to take my word for it that this song was stuck in the head of almost everyone in the United States for months when it first came out and that a sing-along where everyone knew the words was plausible in far more professional offices than Dunder Mifflin Scranton in 2010/2011.) Thanks for your kind words and the review!

Two things:
“I depend on ME, Ryan Howard!” was perfect, as was Ryan’s reaction. Made me LOL.
Going back and rereading your story description after reading was amazing.
Oh, three things. The disclaimer. But that’s a given. I’m super looking forward to more of these from you!
Author's Response: Is Kelly really Kelly if she's not calling out Ryan in public?
Stay tuned! There are more coming soon, because real talk, I'm having a lot easier time writing these than actual JAM content.

Brilliant. Utterly brilliant!
Author's Response: Thank you, but let's be real - at least 90% of why this works is thanks to Queen Bey, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams.

Love that you made a new series out of these. Nothing made me laugh harder than the cold opens on the show and now I have more to laugh to. I could totally see this happening. Keep them up. Especially the network note...now I've got to go back and read the the NN from the last one.
Author's Response: Thank you! They're a lot of fun to write, too. It's funny, because I basically watched for JAM, but the ensemble is offers so many different routes to explore. I have at least three more in the pipeline - I'm kinda hoping they're helping me get the voices down for more JAM-centric content.

This was just a lot of fun. I love that even though Jim is in on the joke he just sits back and lets the ladies shine. Speaking of them, lots of fun to see Pam, Erin, and Kelly start up this wonderful bit of tomfoolery. Even better that despite everthing everyone gets into the spirit of things. Even stuffy Angela. Lots of fun with the visuals and the talking heads. The Network Notes at the end are just the icing on the cake. Great fun.
Author's Response: Yeah, it was a ton of fun to write, too, plus I hear that song every time Dwight says “question,” so it’s nice to finally scratch the itch.
In my head, this is the reason Jim’s been delaying this for seven years – it’s his concept, but not his show, and now with Erin there he and Pam finally have the people they need to just run with it.
I feel like there’s a lot to be done with that trio that the show itself never had much of a chance to dig into.
The Angela stuff sorta surprised me, but really – who doesn’t like Destiny’s Child? It felt like the sort of unexpected grace note they like to give Angerella (ella, ella, eh, eh, eh) in canon.
Thanks for reviewing!
