I love this. Poor Stanley! Man just wants to do his job and eat his food and go home. Tragic. Pretty sure that smell that’s wafting from the microwave is *full* of toxins so maybe at least he got to go home early as they clear out the fumes? Sigh. In any case, I needed this laugh. Really fun piece, fully enjoyed it!
Author's Response: Unfortunately, Toby was the first one to raise the concern that there might be some immediate health risks from this incident, so Michael got mad and insisted everyone go back to their work. So Stanley didn't even get a break. (Phyllis gave him her lunch. Bob Vance of Vance Refrigeration has plenty of leftovers she can grab.)

I feel so much sorry for Stanley here. It was a loss for him, indeed...

Well this one was fun to watch unfold. I feel it would fit well in any episode from this time period. The characterizations are all spot on. The script format and notes make it easy to follow. Great job.
You're right in that not every one of Jim and Pam's pranks work out perfectly. Considering who they usually prank along with some of the other personalities of the office it makes a lot of sense that thing would sometimes get a little out of hand. That's what I saw here. A bit of underestimated Dwight's all consuming need to be a hero and suck up to Micheal, maybe a bit to quick to rush into a prank considering how livid Pam was in all this, and of course no one really gives a quality stink eye like Stanley when he is actually roused to care about something.
Lots of fun with this one even if it when off the rails, but in hilarious fashion.
Author's Response: Thank you so much! I was worried about the characterization of Michael and that there was a little too much going on with the voiceovers and the overlapping lines to be clear here, I'm really glad to hear all that worked.
Yeah, I think that's about right - they definitely did not anticipate the fallout for (and thus from) Stanley, and certainly this was very driven by Pam's absolute rage beyond the point where they fully considered the consequences. Even Hall of Famers have off days sometimes.

Big Huge Smile On my face as I read. So glad you didn't make us wait until January - I needed this - It's been a little too melancholy lately.
SO my favorite bits -let's take it from the top: PAM is a volcano about to erupt, and anyone with even the slightest social sense would be seeking to appease her right about now. MICHAEL (not someone with even the slightest social sense):
The references to how casual they are made my smile go wider and wider as they went on until my cheeks started to hurt.
Of course, Michael trips over his own shoes...
Of course, it's Stanley. Of course, Dwight sasses him about his carb intake.
Of course, Michael's windshield wipers don't work.
No but really - this is all mastery, easier read and pictured than created.
But the best is the reveal that the talking head is at Cugino's and that they eat out now and bring Stanley back his lunch until he's cooled off- only thing that would have made me smile more is if Beth was the waitress.
And he's not done making me laugh yet - you know these are supposed to be 30-60 seconds, right?
Well done - well done - kinda like the shoes.

Author's Response: Thank you, I really appreciate hearing that - lifting melancholy is about as worthwhile as you can get with these things. Putting in the little details to fill out the scene is always the fun part of these for me, and I'm really glad to hear you're enjoying them too - although you are far too kind. Sadly, Beth is still in their future - but she'll be there on a far more memorable day for them, won't she? The 30-60 seconds was a late addition. I feel like I need to acknowledge that I didn't even attempt to make this one work as an actual cold open.
