Aly this was so good. I loved all of the moments you chose and I really loved getting to see Jim’s perspective in his own words. You wrote him so well. The different letters were so spot on for where I think he’d be emotionally. I also liked how you added the context and twisted the knife a bit in some of those, as well as the subtle Karen shade! And in the ones that didn’t have a knife twist, like the honeymoon one, the context was just the icing on the cake that was the letter. Great job, lady!

I think I need a hug. That was so good!

This was all so great! I'm really glad that you had the last two chapters after the angst because I was slightly destroyed after chapter 3 (and the one with them in Puerto RIco was just perfect). I also love that you've gone for a more subtle note for the THE letter, which stops short of saying he's in love with her but basically does say that by listing all the small things he's noticed about her - it's so lovely. And I loved the last line of this about him hoping he'll be enough for her. Amazing!

Your teapot note was beautiful, Aly!
I feel like most people go the full-loving admission route, but this was a nice, subtle way he told her. And I love it!
What a great ending to this beautiful story!

HAPPINESS, FINALLY!
Aw that letter was adorable, and Pam finally reading it was the icing on this fluffy, fluffy cake.
"It's Halpert now" I LOVE IT!

AW!
I love a sleepless Jim, and you know this. This was great! I love that he wants to be his own "Fancy New Halpert" so much. Great job!

ANOTHER OOF!
Ouch, this letter hurt me! Poor Jim, as much as I read CN fics, it never stops hurting.
I want to virtually hug him.
Loved this chapter!

OOF I love this, Aly! This concept is adorable, and I can't wait for more!

Well this was a very nice way to wrap this up! And I love the last line of the card... it's not some massive, crafted declaration of love but it still gets the message across so clearly.

This is a lovely bit of honeymoon nostalgia - feels very much like what he would've been thinking at this moment. Definitely a moment to reflect back on their journey. AND HE MADE A DELIBERATE CALLBACK TO CASINO NIGHT IN THE LETTER. Rude, Aly. Very rude.

I was hoping you'd end it with this one. Beautiful. I'm honestly surprised we don't see more of this momement here on the archive as it's just a wonderful JAM moment. You did a wonderful job getting into it too. Jim's note was delightful too.
Great job with every one of these. It was a lot of fun exploring his mindset and reading those letters.

I need to start my review by commending you once again on this choice of song. You know me, I'm not really a music girl, but the way you took these lyrics and made them this beautiful story is utterly amazing to me.
This teapot letter is one of my favorites that I've read on this site. I mean, technically I suppose they are all my favorites, but I loved the sweet simplicity of your version. It felt so very JAM-my in all the best ways, and we see just how in love Jim was from the very beginning, even though he wasn't in a position to say that yet.
You've done it again, my friend. *music and lyrics and stuff!!*

How abouuuuuut...we change this story to 100 letters Jim writes to Pam? Because I definitely need 95 more of these. This was SO good!! Loved every chapter. And it will forever be head canon for me that Jim is a letter writer. Great job, friend!! I loved it!

Ahhhh, that's better. A very tender moment there to start out with. Jim just watching her sleep and as much as he has by this point he's enthralled by it. Granted they're also literally in the honeymoon phase of things, but it's still sweet.
Loved that he finally wrote her a letter that he intended for her to find and read. After all this time he's done hiding things from her and himself.
The payoff for that in the morning was perfect. An adorable scene at the end.

I was going to say “you have no idea how happy this made me,” but you know exactly how happy this made me. I love ANY honeymoon scene, and the thought of Jim writing a letter in Pam’s notebook for her to find just melted my heart. It was such a clever, not to mention adorable and fluffy, idea, and I thank you for it very, very much.

Did I reread the ending like four times? Yes. Yes I did. "It's Halpert now" KILL ME.
You know better than anyone that I love me some angst, but this kind of fluffy adorable goodness is just as good and makes all the angst so worth it! I'm so glad these knuckle heads figured it out!

This feels very true to Jim's state of mind at this moment - the fact that he still can't shake the word misinterpret and that it's casting a shadow over a pretty mixed message from Pam, and the way he's still very torn between what he wants and what he thinks he's going to have to settle for.
The connection in the letter to her comment about never having gotten the timing right is a really nice touch.

Interesting take to have Jim so ready to let Pam go here. Her confession on the beach clearly has been weighing on him. Likewise in the few post Beach-prior New York scences we have of Jim and Pam (read their reactions to Jan's boob job) it seems that Pam at least is done caring about what Karen might thing and goes back to the kind of pre-Casino Night banter they used to enjoy. Until Karen butted in, Jim seemed to share that banter too. So clearly there's a lot of thoughts spinning in his head. It really feels like he's closing the book on JAM here. Which if this is his thought process it almost feels like a HUGE turnaround that when he sees Pam's note, he does the 180 from here to dump Karen and race back to Pam that very day.
However it could also be that he just needs to get these thoughts out of his mind. Just try to get the slate clean so he can try to go into the interview fresh. In writing this review and thinking about this chapter some more as I write it, I think that may be more what you're going for. After all even though Jim says he's trying to let go of Pam, there at the end her periwinkle dress is the last thing on his mind before he falls asleep. In that regard it's not surprising that Pam's note would wake Jim up to where his future truly lies.
So well done in crafting chapter that can be see, for me at least, in several ways. Outstanding job.
