Yay for more Pam figuring out who she is as a single woman fics!!! But the ending was sweet and perfect too!
Author's Response:
No harm in being a single pringle. No harm in snuggling with Jim Halpert either. :)
Thank you very much!

This is really lovely! I loved the line about no one seeing you trip when you're in the sidelines (feels very Pam), and the hearts she's broken in a few months (including her own) is gut-wrenching. I also really liked 'and sometimes she fell asleep to videos of dogs' after the angst about Jim: it's such a good blend of funny/bittersweet, and v realistic. And then Jim sleeping with Pam, and not minding any of the discomfort, is such a sweet way to end it!

Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed!
I'm glad you noticed that line - I just thought that she could be heartbroken without letting it consume her entire life. Sometimes, you cry yourself to sleep. Sometimes, you watch dog videos. Balance, eh?!

Awww, that was very sweet! I do like Pam's reflections and that she felt content with her time alone (I wouldn't call that period loneliness).
And Jim's care was lovely to witness!
Thank you for sharing, and welcome!
Author's Response:
Thank you for reading and for your lovely comment! I agree, I don't think she's lonely here - a person can feel lonely while surrounded by others and content while completely alone, and I think she'd actually prefer to spend that time alone than in company she doesn't enjoy!

Welcome to writing! Nice job for your first time out of the gate. Getting into Pam's head as she starts out on her own like that was great. Her realizing she'd always been on the sidelines, not out front was a great way to bring that out. I think it was a good set up to seeing the kind of growth we see out of her in S3.
The bit with Jim though was just delightful. They're finally together so yeah what's a little hair in his mouth? He's just as enamored with her now as he's ever been. Just lovely.
Looking forward to more from you.

Details on this feel painfully real - the bit about her keeping to her own side of the bed is beautiful and sad.
Pam valuing predictability and having a turbulent and painful but also very valuable moment in her life between Casino Night and the Job feels spot on.
The Jim section does a really good job establishing the contrast of Roy and Jim... that it's not just that there's something to be enjoyed in sleeping alone, but that the person she was sleeping with also wasn't particularly interested in her sleeping comfortably. It's a good metaphor.
Congrats on your first JAM fic and making the intimidating leap from lurker to writer! Welcome to the ranks of MTT authors, we're happy to have you here.

Hello Saturn and welcome.
I always enjoy a new voice in this community and I like yours very much.
The image and metaphor of Pam learning to spread out in her bed (and in her life)is a very powerful one and I liked how you used one to illustrate the other.
I agree Pam was always one to play it safe. At least until Jim helped to break her out from her own chains. I like how you brought that out.
I thought the line about how she’d never broken anyone’s heart ....and now she’d broken three... was really touching.
I enjoyed how you end with Jim’s perspective and her hair in his mouth.
Thanks for sharing this lovely piece and looking forward to more from you.
