I missed your updates (sorry!), but now I caught up with everything at once, and...
THIS IS BRILLIANT!
Seriously. The voices. The reactions. The style. And there are so many little gems that I don't even know where to start counting them.
Fantastic story, and it's lovely to see Dwight as the lead character :)
Thank you for writing!
Author's Response: Wow, thank you SO much for such a generous review! This has really made my day! :D

So it was kind Dwight pranking Jim. Feels like Dwight did all this to teach Jim a lesson about no wasting the valuable time of the authorities. However the only one who had their time wasted was Dwight. Seroiusly, Dwight's hero complex is a bit to much from time to time. Skipping past all the things Dwight did wrong it also feels like Jim won't take this lying down.
Someday soon Jim will get back at Dwight for this one.
At any rate, this one was fun. Good job on the characterizations through everything.

Author's Response:
I think they will always mess with each other, definitely.
If someone hasn't done it yet, there needs to be some post-series Texas Jim pranking Dwight.
And thanks again for reading! I really appreciate that. :)

Ha. A very entertaining conclusion, and very much in line with canon patterns and humor - this is the sort of counter-prank you can see Dwight pulling off, and like all of Dwight's rare wins it's disproportionately over the top and devastating... and tinged with just a hint of sweetness.
I liked this one a lot!
Author's Response: I'm so glad, thank you so much! :D

Ha. I love this Pam-Dwight exchange - very solid Dwight voice, and I think you found the balance of sexist contempt and genuine affection for Pam here. Angela and Meredith and Kelly's reactions were spot on too.
Author's Response:
Yeah. He is definitely very Dwight.
And as for the rest of them . . . *facepalm*
Thank you so much for reading!

Okay here's my legalistic side of things coming out. If Dwight is not a real cop, or not even a volenteer deputy anymore, what he's doing by arresting Jim is in fact a crime. Kidnapping, false imprisonment, impersonating an officer and he could also be liable for civil charges as well. Moreover if he's claiming citizens arrest, in general in order to do that a felony has to be committed in the presense of the arresting citizen and the real cops should be called immediatly. But that's me putting real world laws into a show that routinely skirts around said laws for comedy sake.
Yeah Dwight's been pushed just a bit to far here. Everyone else seems really in character. Judgemental Angela. Meredith and Kelly not really seeing the bigger picture. Pam kind of freaking out.
Though now I do also wonder if all of this is one of those moments where Dwight gets one over on Jim. In the final tally of everything, Jim clearly comes out on top. But there are occasions where Dwight fires back effectivly at Jim. The recorder pen in Jim's office, the snowmen in the parking lot, the meatball prank. If this is Dwight getting back at Jim it could also explain why Pam is kind of bemused at Jim in previous chapters. If so, great set up to get us to this point.
Author's Response:
I agree, even tho Dwight is back being a volunteer sheriff's deputy, there's tons of plot holes here. Just like in the show.
Anyway, hope it's still a fun read. :)
And thanks for reading.

I'l give credit he knows how to puch Dwight's buttons that's for sure. More of a feeling that Pam is now letting Jim have it a bit. Making sure he relizes he probably pushed one to many buttons with Dwight this time around. Nice work.
Author's Response: Thanks!

This is entirely too much fun. And I love that Pam is riding the edge between being justifiably annoyed and justifiably amused.
Author's Response: She's kind of an oxymoron, isn't she?

It's getting somewhat hard to keep track of what's going on and what's being said with the constant intturptions in the dialoge. Not that the techinque is bad off hand, but for some reason in this chapter it felt like a bit much. But it's your story.
Pam as the voice of wisdom makes a lot of sense here. With her better relationship with Dwight I can see why she'd be a bit more hesitant. Nice call with that one.
Author's Response: I really appreciate your honest input here. Thank you. :)

Dwight's grilling of Pam seems very on point for him here. Of course Dwight would try to get to the bottom of everything. Feels like while Pam is talking to Jim here she's kind of shifted her attidute. She's gone from annoyed bemusement to generally getting a little upset. Maybe a bit of both.
Author's Response:
It's a slippery slope, isn't it? ;)
And yeah, Dwight, master detective here. Ha.

Oh lordy. The suspense is killing me. Ah, poor Pam - pulled in both directions by her loving husband and her own desire to prank and her common sense.
Author's Response:
Must . . . be . . . responsible. Must . . . prank!
;)
And thank you!

"Two crippled flamingos fighting over the last mollusc" is wonderfully Dwight.
Author's Response: Yay, thank you!

So it's buildup for sure. Though I get the feeling that this is one of the rare times Jim takes things just a bit to far. Normally he's pretty good about knowing how far to push. Maybe not so much this time around. Looks like we'll find out eventually.
Author's Response:
Oh surely Jim would never take anything too far, would he? ;)
And thank you.

Oh, Jim. For the record, I have always thought (and have a story in progress concerning) that the vampire bat thing was RIDICULOUSLY dangerous in a way that the show did not acknowledge.
Looking forward to seeing the chaos to come!
Author's Response: I'd really like to hear more of your thoughts on that. Please?

Uh oh. I see this getting out of control VERY rapidly. And also possibly involving someone getting genuinely injured, which feels like it was more of a risk with some of Jim's pranks than the show acknowledged?
This is VERY solid Michael dialogue, by the way - and the Jim and Pam banter feels right.
Author's Response:
Michael can be very colorful, can't he? ;)
And thank you!

Now pulling Toby into this. Looks like Jim is still in reletivly good humor and Pam is firing back too. Though I'm getting more and more curious as to how Jim found himself in this situation. Nice job to build tension like that. Good Michael voice too.
Author's Response: So glad it's working for you, thank you!

Jim's in jail? Oh boy. Sounds like something got a bit out of hand. The set up though seems decent. Let's see where this goes.
Author's Response: Thanks for giving this a chance. :)

HA. Okay. I'm sold, and desperately want to read more of this.

I... I'm slightly confused about what's going on here, but even more, I'm excited to find out! The theme of the Scranton Strangler is so intriguing and unexplored, and I'm curious what you're going to do with it — looking forward to the following chapters!
