The game is afoot. So William is an engineer and shipbuilder. Makes sense for Corellia to be sure. Also considering the time frame I'm wondering if this is some sort of plot to get William into assisting with the construction of the Death Star. Though why the Imperial higher ups are keeping tabs on Pam through all this remains to be seen.

Question, what's the ISB? Imperial Something Something to be sure, but I'm at a loss as to what that is. Just some clarification would be helpful.
Really fun to see Jim and Pam bonding during mealtime. With everything else ramping up, hopefully that relationship will only strengthen.
Feels like Helene is being brought in on trumped-up charges. All because Deenlark doesn't like Pam calling home. Feels like it could be a spark that makes Pam question if being loyal to the Empire is truly something worthwhile.
Author's Response: Thanks for the feedback warrior. The ISB stands for the Imperial Security Bureau. It’s the Empire’s intelligence agency. It’s pretty much the Empire’s FBI. Yeah you are right about Helene, but more clarification on the reason surrounding Helene’s arrest will be revealed soon.

I can just about sense the indoctrination going on with the heavy course load. Get the cadets so tired it's hard to think about anything else. Meanwhile lots of opportunities to add in Imperial propaganda to a mind just trying to soak everything up.
Kinda sad to read that about her roommate, but then again it's the Empire. Not really known for upstanding morals and all that.
A Lambda shuttle setting down with Stormtroopers filing out? Makes for a nice cliffhanger to end this chapter on that's for sure.

Author's Response: We might, but I don’t know. I am currently contemplating whether I include big name characters like that. I want this story to still be canon compliant, so I probably won’t have big names come in like Vader, but I don’t know for sure yet.

I love the glimpse into their backstories here - Jim as someone from a poorer background pretending to be more experienced/cultured than he actually is is a great touch, so intrigued to see where you take this! And I like the little hint into some potential future conflict for Pam with the Empire. But her making a beeline for Jim, and his joy at seeing her, is incredibly sweet, I'm really enjoying the way you've written their instant connection. Can't wait for more!

Ooooh backstory! Interesting seeing the different paths that have led them here - an escape from a world with no future for Jim, a patriotic duty for Pam. And this gives some fun color to the first scene, knowing Jim is basically faking his way through it all.

Jim's from Jedha? That should be VERY interesting as we move forward. Nice to get some backstory for him too. He's just out to escape. Kinda feels like how a certian farmboy from Tatoonie would feel in a few years. Get away from the backwater.
Pam's feeling of uneasiness when the Commander said to let go of family and plantary bonds seems like a sign of things to come. One of Pam's biggest traits is her loyalty, especially to her family. Someone telling her to abandon that would strike a nerve I'm sure.
Roy's here too? More ways things can get interesting that's for sure.
However it's when Pam and Jim get together again that things turn cute. Which of course I love. Really like how you're setting things up. Can't wait to read more.

I'm loving this already! I should probably admit that I've only seen the newer Star Wars trilogy (which I've been told is unacceptable) so am not a particularly well-versed fan, but I'm greatly enjoying your version of them in this universe. Plus them meeting in a bar and then being in the Imperial Navy together = perfect. Can't wait to see where this goes!

So this is already fun. I've been looking forward to it since you floated the idea earlier. So Pam is from Corellia? That should be fun. I wonder if the Corellian flair for disregarding the odds will be with her too. Not sure if you told us where Jim hails from as of yet. Not really a big deal mind at at this stage.
Fun night at the bar especially playing Sabacc. To bad she lost all those credits to the only hand that can beat Pure Sabacc. Ah well, maybe she'll get lucky in other ways.
And they're both off to the Imperial Academy. Five years BBY too. That's an interesting time frame to be sure from what we know from "Rebels," and "Rogue One." So far this is a fun cross-over and I'm really looking forward to seeing where it goes.
Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing! You’ll learn soon enough where Jim is from and yeah I think Pam won’t care too much about the odds in this story like her fellow Corellian. I thought a lot about the timeframe for the beginning of the story and I thought 5 BBY would be a good place to start because it’s right before “Rebels” and a time where the Imperial Academy isn’t a place to recruit soldiers for a war against some rebels. At that point it’s just a place to show your patriotism.
