Nice way to wrap this one up. A cute vision of what's to come. Yes there's been a very hard time, but hard times pass and happy times come again. Nice to see that sunbeam of hope coming through the clouds.
Great job in this one. It was a lot of fun to read.
Author's Response: Thanks for your kind words. And, thank you for commenting on each chapter.

Kind of figured that the actual day of Christmas without William would be hard on Pam and her family. That we didn't see it directly was nice tool to view that through.
William's letter to Pam was so tender. One can very much feel his love and pride as a father. His hopes for her and the devotion he wants to bring to her life. Very touching scene there for sure.
Wonderful that Jim is now the man in her life to help her get through all this. I couldn't think of anyone who would be better able to help her navigate this time. Great job in showing all of that.

Feels like a nice transition chapter. They've had to endure some big emotions as of late. Here they get a chance to calm down and just be with each other. I like that they start setting plans with each other while also keeping plans with their families. Shows that they're keeping priorities and I'm here for it. A nice evening in of take out and movies was very nice to envision. Same with them falling asleep together again.

I get the conflicted emotions for both of them. Sadness due to the passing of William, but joy in finally getting together. Yet when they head over to the Beasly house, it's a lot to take in. Especially with the parade of people coming through. Seems very reasonable she'd want some time to herself. Good on Jim for going off to find her. Then he just sits with her and holds her. Probably the most loving thing he could do, just be there so she knows she's not alone. Nice job.
Author's Response: Thanks for your comments!

So getting some of the practical things out of the way to start things off. Then kind of surprise that Jim gets the invite to Pam's apartment. Even bigger surprise that she asks him to spend the night. I do kind of get it though. She's been through a lot and not having to deal with it alone makes sense.
Then Jim and Karen break up. I would have been surprised if there hadn't been some tension between Jim and Karen. Her boyfriend just leaves with a woman that to Karen's mind is just a co-worker and maybe kind of a friend. But of course the rumor mill back at DM probably started flying and Karen probably got a bit more of the story. So yeah they hash it out. At least Jim is finally starting to be honest about it all.
Then some HUGE revelations from both of them. Kind of feels like a Hallmark movie cliche kind of thing, but I'll take it. They both got some needed perspective and realization that we don't really know how much time we have together so make the most of it while you can. Nice to see that coming out.
Author's Response: I didn't focus too much on the Jim/Karen dynamic, because I feel like at this point they've only been together about a month. On the other hand, he's been in love with Pam for years. Some of my dialogue and actions in this story come from personal experience. I've lost a number of people close to me over the years and fan fiction helps me to deal with grieving.

Some quiet and tender moments here. Jim's doing a really good job just being a steady presence for her right now. Good for him for not taking advantage of a vulnerable time in her life right now. It's probably the biggest thing she needs. A bit of realization on his part there too.
I do feel for the Beasly ladies right now. To lose William so close to Christmas is going to cut deep for sure.
Author's Response: Yeah, I don't want any sexual tension between them in this story. That just doesn't feel right.

Really liked the ensemble reaction here, Michael was so funny!
Interested to see where this one goes!
Author's Response: Michael can be fun to write. It's fun to imagine the crazy things that may come out of his mouth.

Nice little bit of clarity from Phyllis there. Sometimes we just need a little push. That felt more than a little. Though now with getting to the reality of dealing with William's passing, it'll be interesting to see if Pam remembers that promise she made.
Author's Response: She'll remember. It'll be a little later.

Oof, yeah big shock for Pam and a legit reaction for her. Same with everyone else. Really great that Jim is the first one to clock what's going on with her and the first to offer comfort and support. Regardless of anything that's happened, he still loves her and that's never changed. Kind of a call to action here right now, so that is a big thing for sure.
So what's going to happen going forward? Karen is still in the picture and saw all that I'm sure. Likewise how will Jim and Pam navigate all of this? Looking foward to finding out.
Author's Response: Thanks for your reviews. I have a number of chapters still in mind. I'm not very busy right now, but that'll change soon, so maybe I can get another chapter in tomorrow. :-)

Well it's an interesting premise by the story description. Feels like some good set up here to get us all acclimated to where we are in the timeline.
I do like that Pam is able to pick up on the subtle signs Jim is giving off before he voices them out loud.
Looking forward to more.
Author's Response: Thanks
