Okay, this should have more than 7 glowing reviews. So much hurt and disappointment wrapped up in there on the side of the road. Just very well written.
Author's Response: Thank you so much! This is actually my favourite of everything I have posted here, but I think it doesn't get a lot of love because it's not Jim/Pam. Thanks for taking the time to comment, Alex!

Oh, very nice. You've got them both down pat, and I love the last paragraph, and "He left things too long, and he knows it. He can't stop thinking about how stupid it is that he waited all this time, only to throw their friendship away with an accidental confession."
Author's Response: Thanks! And thank you for the pimps over at Scranton Times!

This was just beautiful to read. You captured a very real sense of sadness and uncertainty that these characters seemed to feel that night. Particularly loved some of the little reflections that you included--the whole 1st and last paragraphs about Jim felt perfect and Jan's thoughts on how she held the "trump card" for a crappy night was great. This scenario just makes so much sense in the context of Casino Night and you wrote it wonderfully. Thanks for writing a non Jim/Pam pairing :)
Author's Response: Thank you for your wonderful words! And you're very welcome. My pleasure!

In retrospect - on that night in particular - I really felt for both Jim and Jan. And so - pairing them this way works for me. It makes sense even if it makes me want to cry.
I hate to see them both so sad. I've got visions of Jan running around in my brain lately - particularly why in the world she'd get herself in so deep with Michael. I think you had some great insight on her character here.
Author's Response: I don't think I could have paired these two under any other circumstances, either. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

They're both lost in a literal and metaphorical way; it was very touching, and made sense in a sad way. Great story.
Author's Response: Thank so much, Morning Angel. I'm glad my idea came across.

Okay. This was one of the most poignant, (potentially) truest fics ever. There were so many small moments - Jan's recognition of Michael's optimism; Jim's memory of how oblivious he'd been just that morning of the turn his life was about to take; that she tasted like ashes...and especially, the final line. Just beautifully, painfully done. So good.
Author's Response: Colette, your reviews are so wonderful, just like your stories. Thank you so much.

When i saw their scene in Casino Night, for a split second I thought they'd hook up.
I love the way you paired them up here.
Author's Response: Thank you! Yeah, I thought that for a second, too.

Well done, Ms. Jam! Jim and Jan somehow fit together, and you've paired them nicely.
Author's Response: Thank you so much! They do, don't they?
