I like the ending. Simple, and yeah, Karen was nice. A good ending. Its still Jam but even though Karen is still a good person.

Oh this was great! Especially the end - lovely in its simplicity within a complicated situation, and Karen's speech felt very character, very understanding of a girl who's obviously given up and doesn't want to hate anyone. You really shouldn't hate anything about this! I think your rules were very effective.

i like it, honestly. it works for me. it's nice to see a JAM story where she bows out gracefully. and yes, you need an epilogue.. because i wanna read more!! ^_^

You did a great job with the ending - Karen totally kept her dignity and I like the idea that she had already made her mind up to leave before Pam even showed up.  Karen showed great strength and compassion and was a good friend. I'm quite confident that your reviews and ratings will remain high and that we will look forward to reading much more from you!!

I had no real idea how this would end after reading the other chapters.  I love this ending.  Mind you, I like Krazy!Karen and a whole variety of characterizations of these people, but I definitely liked this one as well.  I liked Karen's explanation of the new job and such.  You certainly could make it simpler if you wanted, but I think it's good.

I loved the bit with the hot chocolate and Jim and Karen taking such good care of Drunk!/Hungover!Pam.  It was really sweet.

So hey, I'm still with you.  I can't imagine anyone dropping your stories because of this one.  (Hmm... paranoid, sensitive writer, much?)

Thanks for this.  I still sort of giggle over the boxers.

Author's Response: Paranoia and sensitivity? In a writer? Noooo. ;P thank you for your readership, though! And yes, even I giggle over the boxers. Stay tuned for the epilogue...the boxers thing will come back...

Oh, very nicely done. I agree with all your points too. Really great, sweet way for it to end. And for Karen too. This was really fantastic.

Don't hate this ending!  I was surprised to see this story take this turn, but pleasantly so.

As much as I would like to see Desperate/Crazy Karen, Classy Karen has definite possibilities.  She's a smart gal, she's got to see the writing on the wall.  And Jim wouldn't be with someone who didn't have her act together.  Not for long anyway.

This sums up Karen's role in this mess nicely: "like somebody’s ripping half her heart to shreds and sewing the other half at the same time"

1) I adore Karen too, and I love that you didn't have her explode.

2) As much as I love a good JAM kiss, I can see your point

3) I feel like you have a baaaad experience with hangover jokes. (Did you have a happy childhood? Tell me about your father.)

4) Yeah Karen/Pam friendship!

I can see how you could have shortened Karen's dialogue a bit, but it wasn't ridiculously long or anything. I love this story just the way it is. The part where Pam realizes that Jim is holding the mug of hot cocoa? Priceless. (although I've had a bad tequila experience and if anyone approached me with hot chocolate the next morning, I would have... well, it would have been messy. Water only.)
