Author's Response: thanks, I think if I was them I would not be cool with any more uncertainty. They've been dancing for like 5 years! My husband asked me to marry him on our 2nd real date, I didn't say yes right away but he just said, 'I love you, I spent a lifetime looking for someone like you and I don't feel like playing games.' I could see Jim doing something like that.

OMG, fasterthansnakes, I hear ya! Fanfic was all that got me through being pregnant with HooBaby. I did NOT need all that Pam/Jim angst when I was all hormonal!!
Love the whole part comparing Pam & Karen. She might be perfect, but she ain't Pam.
And you need to write more. Like now. You have cranked up the anxiety level, like the heat in Jim's car.

Just finally had a chance to read this and - wow, it's good. Jim's anger, confusion, regret, frustration, guilt, panic and everything are just one big palpable force here. And Pam's hurt and sense of loss...seriously - heartbreaking. This last chapter was especially good...the lines about Jim's comparison of Karen and Pam and his rage dissolving into such tenderness for her. So heartfelt and true. This is one I'll be checking back to look for updates!
