I am really looking forward to see what happens when they finally start talking again. I actually quite enjoy the Jane character. I like how she's not afraid to tell him what an ass he is being. Wish someone would do that on the show. Update soon (if you can).

I never thought about the fact that Jim didn't know that Phyllis' wedding was an exact copy of Pam's -- how much differently that night might have turned out had he known at the time...
And it was perfect that you had Jim get the gossip from Kelly. This is the first fic I've seen where Jim gets all the details and really understands how much Pam has been hurting over all of this -- that maybe she's hurting more than he is.
Great chapter! Can't wait for more.

You may have noticed, but this whole Poor Jim is old for me. So it seems that every story right now I'm just letting him have it. But it is just tough love!

Awww! That last line! So sweet!
I love your description of how Pam is not receptive to Jim's friendly advances. And her being in reception and all! The bit about her fearing he will hurt her is also so amazing, and would have to just pierce Jim to the core.
My favorite funny/snarky lines are “Mean to Kevin were you?” and “Ok, so how about Starbucks? Let’s see if we can get you banned from there.” Those are really great.
Will Karen know they're going out for coffee? I wouldn't think Jim would lie if asked, but I can't imagine Karen would be very happy about it.
If the next chapter gives you fits, you may want to check out Wikipedia about how to deal with those. It has the very best of information.

HA, not receptive in reception! That's great! Yes, I thought that Jim would total shrivel up if she ever looked afraid of him. so i had to dial up the angst with that one.
About Karen, oh don't worry, he's not cheating and she'll be taken care of soon enough. Perhaps Wikipedia has an article about how to dump a girl in one chapter.

i totally remember she's all that. and just be forewarned: you know how i mentioned i was spending all of saturday teachin... i just got back and i am dead. i am claiming no responsiblity for what my fingers type.
poor poor jim. tries to start up friendship with pam and gets an earful of kelly. i would say that it is extreme punishment, but i have started to realize i can be a bit kellyish, so, now i don't know what to think.
is it bad that i kinda always wanted to have a makeover like in she's all that. i mean, without the bitchy reason behind it. but i did kinda...
kelly does provide a valuable resource though... so, yeah. i mean, kelly isn't all bad. and besides, that entire conversation took probably like, two minutes, because kelly talks fast. so, jim got a ton more info with pam in less time than i took to drink a soda. or so in my mind i claim.
hum, a margirita, or a car... i would go for the car.
yay for goin to starbucks. starbucks is awesome. granted, i have only been in one three times, and only ordered from one once. but, still. if it is a good step in pam/jim friendship/more than that i will think they are amazing.

I saw with all the love in my heart, that review sounded a little like Kelly! Maybe she is misunderstood, maybe she teaches 34 teenagers before she comes in every day.
I always wanted the Pretty Woman/She's all That makeover. In fact, I'm still worried someone will turn me over to one of the re-do shows. And I have to say Starbucks is a given for me, every workday morning I roll through getting either a coffee or a latte depending on how I think the morning is going to go.
Perhaps the next time you go you'll think JAM had a date in a starbucks!
