Haha! Jane leaves her card in the ATM? Is that based on experience? that is just sad!!! :)
BTW - ATM machine is incorrect. You are saying machine machine. But everyone does it. Heck, I almost did it!
Okay, so here is my reaction... I start the chapter, I pick up my water bottle and start drinking. Karen says she is was in NY about a job... water bottle drops from my mouth... I stare at screen rereading it and going ....whoa...
This is the first story I remember reading (okay, so pretty much, I will admit my memory is shot from the past month), where Karen dumps Jim... and not because she is jealous of Pam.
I love seeing the little next button.

I'm fond of this chapter as you know; it just all seems right..Karen finally relazing she's running a race that she can't win, Jim being hurt and angry even though he knew it was going to end soon, the whole tone of there conversation. And having had a little look at the next chapter I hope to see that one up soon.
Author's Response: Thanks a bunch as always.

I love Jim's CN confession being turned back on him in the breakup with Karen. But it's fitting. Yes, NBC, do that, why don't ya?
I also appreciate that Jim didn't immediately go to Pam after breaking up with Karen. That would be a bit tacky, considering what we know he wants from her, as far as a relationship. If they were the kind of friends who talked about their significant others, that'd be one thing, but since they don't, I think it's the right decision not to call her right away. But the next day? Totally. :)
Author's Response: Of course he's gonna talk to her the next day. Did you like how they did do it on the Office, I really liked it. Understated but lovely.

I'm so glad that you updated! I can totally understand Karen's POV, and I can see how an exciting trip to the city, away from hesitant!Jim, and the mediocrity of Dunder-Mifflin Scranton would make her "see the light" so to speak. And in his stuation, I would do what Jim did, because no one wants to be dumped, rejected, be told "you're not enough for me."
I can't wait to see where you take us next. Great job so far!
Author's Response: Thank you so much, I'm so happy that you're enjoying it. Yeah, I just thought that Karen should dump Jim for a number of reasons, but part of me thought that Jim's ego would not handle that well, especially if he still thought Pam didn't love him. BTW loved the finale - how about you?

I thought these two lines were really funny:
Of course, Jane had been known to leave her debit card in the ATM machine, so maybe she wasn’t the most reliable source.
He would have least dumped her in a private place.
I really liked this chapter, and I love where it leaves Jim. Single, at least!! And yes, please NBC and The Office powers that be, let's at least have 3 single people in this desperate triangle by the end of the season!
Jim's POV at the end seems really good and realistic to me.
The one thing that rang a little wrong with me was the description of Jim picking up the check - I think he probably would do that anyway. He and Karen have been "dating", even when she just broke off things, I think he'd pay the check without even giving it a thought.
I don't know when the next chapter's coming, but I'm glad to have caught up on this anyway!!
Have I mentioned lately how great Mark's Jane is? She's great.
Author's Response:
Are you happy with NBC now? 3 single people but2 of them are going out to dinner?
Thanks for the reviews, I really appreciate it. I will also beta what you sent me tomorrow I swear. :-)
