I should really learn to read the chapter notes first, because I was so confused throughout most of the first chapter, thinking "I feel like I've read some of this before, but some of it is not familiar at all..." Anyway, I am enjoying it and like the change of the double mystery. I think I'll be pretty disappointed in Karen and Ryan if they're cheating, but the process of finding out is looking fun and interesting!

Of COURSE it leads to Ryan. I should have seen that coming. (TWSS?) Too bad we couldn't see Karen's reply.
What will happen next? I love how you brought the conversation in the women's bathroom into this. And Karen and Ryan sleeping together certainly accounts for that little antagonism between the two guys which we've been seeing this year. (Jim being a different guy doesn't help that either, I guess.)
Anyway, I'm interested to see where this will go. Any chance Jim will catch Ryan and Karen in the act? Or Pam catches them in the act and tells Jim. That couch in the bathroom wasn't very big, but then neither are Ryan and Karen...

Well, I'm caught up in the mystery now. I'd like to think that Karen is definitely cheating on Jim, but I'm not sure if I'd like for it to be with Ryan or not. I like Ryan and Kelly together.

Oooh, DF, I knew it was only a matter of time before you wrote a fic based on that bathroom scene in WA. hee. Every time I see Ryan on my calendar in the morning I just giggle...slutty office manwhore that he is. :)

Author's Response: Heee, actually, fun fact! I wrote most of this before WA and almost scrapped the whole idea because of Karen's apparent canon rejection of Ryan ahaha, so I definitely had to rework a lot of my ideas. I just love that slutty temp ;) Thank yoou!

Well this is a different direction than your first attempt at this story (I think the writing in the new version is tighter, so good job).
I'm a little worried though. With all the Ryan whoring going on in fandom recently - and Ryan partnered up with Michael... it could be Mike's lucky day?

Interesting premise! I love the parallel mystery-solving "games" going on, which should lead to all kinds of interesting sleuthing. Love that it's from Jim's POV, and that he's at least starting off as actually concerned about what's going on with Karen, even if he's ambivalent.

I like it. I have to admit, though, I'm trying to figure out what sort of DF twist you're going to put on this.
What (or who) is Karen doing? What does Phallus (I mean Phyllis) have to do with this? What's Toby doing while he's dead?
And perhaps most importantly (from my perspective), why does Jim care that much? From your perspective, it might be "are Ryan's eyes really that blue?"
