Gorgeous as usual. I really can't wait to see what you have up your sleave next.

Author's Response: thank you.  hopefully I'll have a new chapter by the middle of next week.

Yay progress! Yay for Pam sorting herself out and admitting it first! Great chapter. (and I adore Cannonball so very, very much)

Author's Response: ugh me too. great song.  and thanks for the compliment, glad you enjoyed it.

I love the way Pam came to her realization.  Perfectly suits her.  And the in bed banter was just so them.

Really loving what you're doing here.  Oh how much nicer S3 would have been if TPTB had used your timeline instead.

Author's Response: ;-) thank you!

I really enjoy your use of description in your writing. And the stylistic choice you've made with this story is pretty cool. I like the poetry at the beginning and end of each chapter. I felt like this chapter really didn't have enough action to stand on its own, though. It probably might be better go combine it with chapter 8 since it has enough action to carry itself and chapter 9. Just a suggestion. But I really did enjoy the chapter. Can't wait to see the next one!

Author's Response: well i felt like there really needed to be a separation for Pam because the panic of chapter 8 had to flow into the calmness of chapter 9, and all as one probably would've been just not really...what I had in mind.  The action of this chapter was supposed to be more metaphorical.  Pam's internal acceptance of things, and then her external confession to Jim.  Anyway, long response...sorry about that.  Glad you enjoyed it.

love, love, LOVE. I feel like the way you dealt with what had just happened with Roy was so BELIEVABLE. After something like that, it's so easy to slip into melodrama in the aftermath and you totally didn't do that. Excellent work. And it's SO nice hearing her say she was in love with him FIRST. Can't wait for the next chapter, but I'm sad it's coming to an end.

Author's Response:

yes thanks! I always marvel how after something so emotionally jarring happens in real life people just move on...keep doing what they do.  At least sometimes it happens that way ;-) Wanted to put that on paper.  And thanks for the review and reading!!

Hey, I just started reading this story, and I love it! I decided, wut the heck, lets give it a try, and I'm so glad I did. The style is a little weird, but good weird. And you write the characters so well. Keep going, I'll definately read. (P.S. Your name, does that mean you love SVU? Cuz if you do that rocks!)

Author's Response:

I'm glad you tried it too!!! I know the style is funky, but I was trying to just explore a more artsy feel and see how it went.  Hopefully it works.

And yeah SVU IS MY JAM (in a purely non Jim and Pam sense of that word)

Every chapter I read, i think the same things: 1. This is insanely gorgeously written. 2. I love your Mark so much! He is perfection. Hilarious perfection.
It is so nice how you emphasize that Pam likes who Jim sees her as, and the person that he makes her be (okay, you explain it so much more beautifully). It is just so true to these characters and just really lovely.
This story is a great combination of serious and fluffy. Well done!

Author's Response: thank you!!!! yeah I thought it was a really interesting idea to sort of write about the pedestal that Jim has Pam on, but write it in a positive way so that it helps her grow and try to live up to that.  Anyway, I digress, but thank you.

Ha!  This is great:

“Don’t talk about my mother when you’re in my bed…It‘s really not sexy.”

I was thinking the same thing!  I mean, really sweet that she said that, but...not the right time.  :)

Author's Response: ...at all...but that's part of what I love about Pam.  She's a little bit awkward that way.

Sooo...I just realized I could not only review stories, but RATE them as well!  Mark is so inappropriately appropriate...the perfect roommate.  "I'm in love with you"...that was so good, out of the blue, after all that, in that setting.

You write so real, like...you know how some people can draw a portrait, and it looks like someone drew a portrait, but then some people draw and it looks like a photograph, because the details are so good and its so true to life?  You write like that.

Its fabulous.

Author's Response: wow thank you!!!!!! I know exactly what you mean about some people who can paint like photographs, and that is such a huge compliment to my writing.  Thank you thank you thank you!

I didn't love it, because it sucks that it had to go down like that, but because it was so believable, I didn't hate it, either, because...yeah, it pretty much DID have to go down like that.  So it was a necessary evil, and I really like how Pam stood up for herself, so it wasn't like Jim and Mark had to swoop in and save her, because she was doing a decent job for herself, even though I'm glad they did come in and help.  :)

Author's Response: lol that is exactly how I feel about that chapter too.  Well said.

It's like Christmas morning when I read this. Which sounds dorky I know, but seriously...it doesn't get any better, but somehow you'll make the next chapter even better. Go you!

Author's Response: aw christmas morning...that's the best.  thank you so much.

Cute Dead Casket - you may have trumped yourself for funniest line ever.

Oh, and the rest was great too.  Whenever this is updated, I save it for last and read it right before I go to sleep so I'm all smiley and full of fluff.

Author's Response:

haha I started laughing out loud when I wrote that!!!! I didn't plan it and it just came tumbling out of my fingers.  Ha, Mark really has a mind of his own in this one ;-)

And I'm glad it makes you smile before you go to sleep!

They are just too damn cute together, I could totally see that happening on the show with them being all playful.  I also love Mark and thanks to this story I want him to come back on the show and be written by you ;o)

Author's Response: lol wow thank you!!! I'm sooo happy that it reads like the show, cause I never know while I'm writing it.

Oh! And I forgot to say that I loved Mark in this chapter!! Heee!

And this line from Jim was so perfectly Jim:
“Are you getting close to over it, or…”

Author's Response:

yes Mark is the man. and I love how Jim is just always so irritated by him.  But in a "we've been friends forever and your craziness is not funny right now," kind of way.  My best friend and I are totally that way together ;-)

Oh, another wonderful chapter! I loved the last half- the quiet moments between Jim and Pam. You write so vividly, I can picture the characters so clearly. It's wonderful.

And this was one of my favorite lines:
no, it was Pam…and she was herself and she was rooted into the ground so deeply that she could finally feel the way that he was rooted right beside her.

Can't wait for more!

Author's Response: yes I love that line too! I had a few huge edits with this chapter and every time I took a bunch out I did it AROUND that sentence...cause I just couldn't bear to erase it.

Stablergirl -- just wanted to clarify -- I thought the most recent chapter made the 'melodrama' balance out better -- if that makes sense.  Jim & Mark's reaction to it helped ground the whole incident nicely.  Kind of like Jim's looks at the camera after the wacky things Michael does.  Sort of a 'did you see that, America?'  that helps ground the whole thing in reality.

Author's Response: oh good.  cause I was a little sad that you thought the last one was too melodramatic.  but if you're saying it works now then...I'm thrilled. :-D

“You should always buy a girl dinner before trying to get into her pants, Jim. Always,”

My favorite line, hands down.  This chapter was so amazing.  I love the way you had her tell him was like just a breath of relief and just all falls out and how he was sleeping and when they're laying there... *sigh* It was pretty much perfect the way you wrote it, no joke.  :) Lovely job!

Author's Response: lol thank you!! I'm so glad you enjoyed.  Perfect is a HUGE compliment

I was thinking the last chapter was a bit melodramatic, but taken in context with this one, it makes a bit more sense.  Love that Pam uses it to reassert herself and reclaim her life and her choices.

And I know I've said it before, but I love your characterization of Mark.  He rocks out loud.  Not in a Mary Sue sort of way, but as a believeable 'guy who would be Jim's roommate' sort of way.

Author's Response: lol thanks.  yeah sorry the last chapter was too melodramatic for you.  I just felt like things needed to be sealed up.  Plus I always like giving Pam a little drama ;-)
