I really liked how you handled that and I think your reasoning about Pam bringing up Karen is totally sound. I'll admit to doing that in my life in the past ;)

Aww, I love them talking about the teapot! Totally cute.

I wish I could believe that they were close enough after the prank that they could have been IMing this!  Ah, well...season 4, right?

I love that she tells him she uses the teapot.  Awww!

Good linking in of Future Dwight.

Author's Response: Yeah, I agree this chapter was a bit of a stretch. It's really a bit of a stretch to believe they IMed at all during season 3, but that would defeat the purpose of my story. However, Pam did IM first, hinting towards her building up courage. I think you'll also notice that while in S2 Pam almost always kept things light, and Jim would be the one kind of trying to get more personal. Now in this chapter, Jim's the one talking about superficial stuff (wrapping paper) while Pam is trying to go deeper (brining up Karen, telling him she still uses his teapot). As for Future Dwight, I was actually planning to use that in Initiation, but then that chapter took a different direction (in other words, I forgot) so I thought I'd mention it here.

Ooh, the plot thickens. I liked Pam's sly mentioning of the K-sitch. She's got just enough courage to...mention it online. Always love seeing updates to this story!

Cute line from Pam about the hot-sauce-and-pencil tea.  Hee!

Aww, love Pam talking about her teapot.  How cool would it be to see that teapot on the show again?

That can't be all.  I was so enjoying clicking NEXT and having something there.  You are such a great author.  It's perfect.  A-W-E   S-O-M-E!

That was so cute! I loved that! I really liked how forward Pam was in calling out Jim about Karen. Great job!

Love the addition of the dancing in the parking lot because I really thought that was missing from the original prank ;) Great job as usual!

For some reason I like the part where Jim tells her about how Andy literally called him.

This fits in well with the deleted scene, actually.  Hopefully, all the deleted scenes will be on OfficeQuotes.net at some point, so you could at least see a bit of what they're about.

I especially like that Andy did the dance in the parking lot.  I'd actually love to see Andy do that...

Author's Response: Ah, good, I read on OfficeTally that "Pam gets back Jim, and good!" and I was worried this wouldn't fit at all . . . I'd like to see Andy dance, it'd be a break from all the singing he does ;-)

The prank is where Pam tells Andy that Jim wants to hang out with him and he goes up to Jim and starts planning a wild night with him.

Oh, sad.  You're hurting me in the grief bone (just like the show did this season).  I'll just have to repeat to myself "It's a date.  It's a date.  It's a..."

You're really getting the mother/daughter feel across.

Author's Response: I know, I know, but feel free to go back to the happy chapters, the Michael's Birthday chapter makes me pretty happy . . . also Performance review . . .

Yes, this is a little heartbreaking!  Poor Jim.  You're making it very believable, though, that he thinks Pam's moving on...

Author's Response: Yeah, and then she thinks he's moving on, and they just have this big "S/he's moving on, I need to move on, but I love him/her, but does s/he love me back?" dance of FRUSTRATION all season. Gah!

Sad!  She should have said more!  Poor Pam got discouraged, which is why we were discouraged most of the season!

Poor Pam.  I was just saying today that I still can't watch the Merger.  Just too painful to see Pam's face after the egregious back scratch.  You're doing a great job with these, ladama.  Looking foward to the rest of S3.

Author's Response: The only way I can watch The Merger is to watch the last 5 minutes of The Job immediately afterwards. I have to watch The Job after many episodes in S3 . . .

ow... this is making my heart hurt.  Don't do it, Jim!!  Don't date Karen!!  You'll be sorry!!!

I really like what you did with Jim in this chapter.  It's very realistic and fits in with his behavior in The Merger.  Great Job!

His bitterness seemed realistic to me and the idea of Larissa being his sister works.

Don't ever be sorry for posting more chapters to this story! I think these last two perfectly explain where these guys were at this point. And the thought of Pam IM-ming with her mom is too cute.

Author's Response: Yeah, but does it make sense that Pam's mom wouldn't have a cell, but would be all IM savy? I wonder . . .

Awww, poor Pam. At the same time, it's nice to see Pam opening up. I feel like for a while (a long while... like, till Beach Games) the Pam we saw on screen was, while obviously smitten, still trying to play off the "it's fine, we're friends, so what if he's too busy for coffee" outward persona, so it's nice to see her being a little more honest with her feelings, admitting that she was hoping for something and was disappointed that he was seeing someone. As much as I'll enjoy seeing Jim/Pam interactions again, I hope you have Pam talking to her mom sometimes still too, because I like seeing what comes out with someone she feels comfortable talking to more openly.

Author's Response: Yeah, I think that's the advantage of having both of them talking to outside parties, we can see them reveal their true feelings a bit . . Thanks for reviewing!

Aww, Pam! I was so frustrated by that scene at the end of The Merger because you could tell that they were both covering but neither wanted to see what the other was doing, even though they used to do it all the time. Great chapter - I've loved all the updates tonight ;)

Author's Response: Yeah, that's when I wish the camera guys broke the "4th wall" and yelled out something like "Will you two get over yourselves and make out already?"

I think you totally matched how Jim is feeling between Branch Closing and The Merger and it totally works. Really great work!

Author's Response: Ah, thank you, I don't like bitter Jim, but I see where he's coming from.
