This is only 24 chapters overdue, but like Pam, I'm trying to be more open and honest.  I love these IMs.  They give each episode a little different perspective and round out the relationship more.

This last one is totally believable to me - I can see Pam having the guts to do this over IM, especially being at home instead of at work.

Love them all and I'm always excited to see an update.

Author's Response: Thank you, "rounding out" is kind of what I'm hoping to do here. I'm glad you felt this was believable. I'm always happy to update, so I'm happy you want to see them ;)

I can never get enough of how unabashedly Jim supports Pam and her art.  Never enough.  I love this little oath that he made her take.  And I love how it ties in to the summer and the start of S3.  Good job!!!

Author's Response: I hope we get to see plenty of Jim supporting Pam's art in S4. . .

Hey ladama,

This is wonderful of you to continue this series even though you're away in Asia with sporadic internet access.  I love how you add little moments to the stories that are connected to events on the show, such as the mutual decision that Pam was going to take an art class in the summer.  It must have been so sad for her not to be able to share this with Jim.

Keep up the great work!

Author's Response: Well, it's Japan, so it's not like internet is too hard to come by, but still, I'm glad you're still enjoying it

Loving this!  Good luck keeping up and thanks for your persistence!

Author's Response: I'm at an internet cafe in Japan just for your guys . . . so yeah, thanks for appreciating my persistence.

my heart hurts from this one.  i don't find it a completely unlikely conversation.  i have this feeling that jim and pam do/did talk more than we know about (away from the cameras)...it's the only way i can really believe the "best friend" comments they always made.

i don't always get/remember to review, but i've read every one, and i almost always squee a tiny bit when i see you've posted again.  keep them up!  :-)

Author's Response: Ah, good, I like to hear about the squeeing. And I agree that Jim and Pam were a bit restrained with the camera's around.

aw this one was a little sad.  But I have to say, you totally...ack I'm spacing on words...what's the opposite of "ruined"?  Well you, the opposite of ruined Valentines Day and Boys and Girls for me.  Especially Valentine's Day; I have always been sad that Jim didn't get Pam anything--now I just have to figure out what he got her.  :P

Author's Response: Salvaged maybe? But yeah, thats a pretty sad run, from B&G to Take your daughter to work day, so it felt good to add a more positive spin to it.

No, I could see this conversation happening, especially since she typed and then didn't ask, and he pushed it...I kind of like that she really did ask, then, and didn't make something up, like "oh, I was just going to ask you to get me something!"

Author's Response: yeah, I imagine since they weren't face to face it was easier for her to actually ask.

That makes me feel better about Valentine's Day, too, I guess.

I don't remember if you're going to do Season 3.  I can't imagine they were IMing much, if at all, in that angsty season...

Author's Response: Yes, I am doing season 3, because I'm a masochist like that . . . and they won't be IMing each other as much is how I'm gonna get around it . .

I really like this one, and yes, it does make me feel better about "Boys and Girls."

I especially like these lines of Jim's..."and it's a bit hypocritical of me to lecture" and "I'm not exactly living my dream right now."

It's sort of fun to think she took the classes because of an oath to Jim, who'd already gone when she started them.

Author's Response: I like to think that too, sort of make up for her not contacting him after the canceled wedding . . . but not really

Okay, so I don't know if I've commented on this story before, but I know I did start reading it at some point.  Anyway, I just read through all of it (again) and I must say that I love it!  It totally captures the innocence and simplicity of Jim and Pam's friendship, but also cuts to the core of the dilemma presented in each episode.  (I hope that made sense, if not, just disregard all of it).  Anyway, bottom line is that I love it!

Author's Response: It makes sense, thank you very much :-)

Them making that deal after B&G was very sweet. I love that she's realistic about the fact that she's been putting off what she really wants to do, and so has he. And Jim getting her a late Valentine's card! Aw :)

Author's Response: Yeah, I think Pam was just scrambling for an excuse and being defensive when she saids she's fine with her choices. As for the card, I wasn't sure because the writers made a point of have Jim not "save the day" for Pam, but I also can't see him being able to forget that sad face.

I enjoyed both the latest chapters, keep it up.

But now I have the eternal dilemma: to point out typos or not?

You meant faces OF scranton and you meant looked not looking, near the end.

It didn't spoil things though, it was a fun read.

Author's Response:

Ah, dang it! Thanks for pointing it out, I have to post these kind of quick so my proof reading isn't as good as it should be (it's not really that great to being with).

Yes, it does make me feel better.  Kissing Michael and/or Dwight on the lips doesn't, but it's pretty darn funny!

Author's Response: Little did we know that Oscar would then experience it first hand ;-)

I'm so glad you keep adding to this series.  It is one of my favorite.  You do a great job of keeping each conversation realistic and sweet.  I'm looking forward to the next installment.

Thank you very much, but dont be afraid to tell me if it ever gets unrealistic . . .

I'm happy my stories has fans :-)

Wow.  Until right now, I never really connected that Pam finds out that Jim has the crush, and the next episode, she's back from a week's vacation.

Um...she was sort of excited about the crush, and then he immediately told her he was totally over it.  Then she has her big vacation with Roy, and perhaps throws herself into her relationship with Roy even more, with that little reminder that Jim's not her guy...

Am I making sense?  Is this the way you are thinking as well?

Also, it's good you explained the old AIM business, because I never IMd back then...so I saw the "previous message" thing and thought - "wait she'll get that when she signs on!"

Good chapter!

Author's Response: I can see that being Pam's reasoning for going on vacation so early in the year, especially if we say Booze Cruise and The Secret happen back to back. Those were a couple of emotionally exhausting episodes for both of them and I can see Pam at least subconsciously thinking "I need to get away from this for a few days."

"actually we decided to not see each other anymore" - okay, maybe a bit of an untruth.  ;)

Now, see?  Pam says she's there for him if he wants to talk.  How about 'Hey, you just set the date, so is this a better time to say "I'm in love with you" than one month before your wedding?'  Now that's talking!  Alas, that didn't happen.

Author's Response: Yeah, well, you know, they had a pretty good game of pretending they were "just friends" Who knows if Pam really meant that, or if she was just trying to maintain the "friends" facade?

Bizzaro Dwight is my favorite Dwight.  I'd like another episode of Bizzaro, Huggy-Hugs Dwight.  ("I don't work in this van!"

Author's Response: Bizzaro Dwight is pretty awesome. "I don't work in this van" = awesome line, maybe one of the best ever.

I love the discussion of the man-crush, and how they're both at home still IMing and keeping in touch... And the bit about the card in the box?  Wonderful.

Author's Response: I'm sticking to the believe that Pam noticed that card, I mean she took the teapot out of the box, right?

Fun!  And Dwight in high school...  Now I'm curious about what Rainn looked like in high school.  I've seen early pictures of John, Ed, and Brian...none of Rainn, Pam, Angela...hmm.

I actually can see Dwight as Napoleon Dynamite very easily.  Maybe it's the hair.  He could definitely have the hair.  And he has the dancing thing going on.

I'm catching up, ladama.  I'm not sure exactly where I left off reviewing, but this seems as good a place as any to start back up.

I really liked how they talked a little bit about the situation from the day before, and how work isn't quite so bad.  We know why it isn't...

Author's Response: Yep, definitely no mystery as to what the best part of both their days are.
