I laughed very hard. :P I would love to see the Obama/Palin argument, but perhaps the greatness of that should simply be imagined.

I suppose by Asian people you mean people who were born and brought up in Asia and live in the US, because if not Kelly is Asian. ;) But you probably knew that - and it didn't do anything to hinder the crazy conversation, so I don't even know why I'm mentioning this.

Cracked me up, and hard, as always. I love your script-writing style.

Author's Response:

I thought about that in terms of Kelly. I know that Indian can be considered Asian. And I had a few lines for that. But man, this thing would be 1500 words for all the jokes I had...lol... I had to scale it back a bit. You hear these characters talking in your head and it just spirals out of control.

Thanks so much, I'm glad you liked! And that Obama/Palin discussion? I don't even think I could do it justice.

Bwahahahaha. I love to hate Ryan, and this is so "Ryan." I'm not sure what that says about me.

This line -
Knife-fighting midget prostitutes

- reminded me of In Bruges. Funny movie.

Author's Response: Never saw that. Sounded interesting but got mixed reviews... If there are knife-fighting midget prostitutes in it then I've got to watch it! Thanks Jazzy!

Ah, Ryan, you're such a pathetic douche.  But he's good for a laugh.  And so are you, dude.  Every chapter is a winner.

Author's Response: Thanks! And your description of Ryan is hilarious....

Knife-fighting midget prostitutes.  How does one respond to that?  You win.

Author's Response: LOL.. thanks, Nan!

Oh man, this is hilarious. For some reason I love unrepentant, still-superioristic Ryan this season. Nailed it. /Andy. Really though, I'm giggling at my desk. My coworkers already think I'm a little weird, so thanks a lot. Hee. :)

Author's Response: lol... anything to make your co-workers consider calling HR on you, Callisto... lol... thanks. This season's version of Ryan both amuses me and irritates me(which I guess is the point). As Michael might say, he is still very smudge.

what did you do. I love how she knows Jim was up to something naughty lol.

Author's Response: I love writing these two. They are so in tune with one another, it's always fun to make them almost psychically aware of what the other is doing.

LMAO this is brilliant. I love "I don't know pam's view on cannabalism" lmao great!

Author's Response: That's one of my favorite things that I've made Dwight say... lol... thanks!

I love the Michael-Pam dynamic, and you've captured it so well--from miserable to silly in no time.  Great job, k.

Author's Response: Thanks Nan!

ALL of these are fantastic!  I had to comment on this one b/c I adore every single reference to sci-fi that you put in here.  Seriously, "Gaius Baltar" made me burst out laughing.  I always feel like such a dork when Jim and Pam make fun of Dwights obsession with Battlestar Galactica b/c it's like my favorite show ever haha.  Oh well, I must accept my dorky fate and realize that I recognized every single reference you've made in these.

I'm very excited to read the rest!

Author's Response: lol.. thanks! I am a HUGE sci-fi fan and BSG is one of my favorite shows ever. I know what you mean about feeling like a dork when they goof on Battlestar but lately it seems that Jim and Pam have embraced the show. So, yep, I'm a geek. I try to sneak references in all the time. In fact, I thought of a sci-fi reference this morning that will probably work it's way into my next one... thanks so much!

MICHAEL
No.. blood... um.. lover... is so far away and gone
forever. Ah, you wouldn't understand.

PAM
Nope, haven't a clue.

OMG, that's perfect. I can just hear Pam deadpan this.

Another great opener. Poor Michael. Poor Pam.

Author's Response: Thanks Jazzy! Yeah, Pam does great quiet sarcasm.

It always puts a smile on my face when I see Cold Openings on the "new stories" page. Hilarious, as usual.

DWIGHT
Ah, let him go. Dibs on his paper clips.

Perfection.

Author's Response: Thanks, Jazzy! Glad you liked!

That was hysterical.  I laughed out loud at the "Cloverfield" warning.  You do such a wonderful job capturing these characters.  I always enjoy new CO's from you!

Author's Response: Thanks, EBH! I love writing these things and I'm really happy that people like you enjoy reading them. Appreciate it!

These are always so funny.  I swear - this should be your job, simply writing cold opens for The Office.  Perfect.

Author's Response: Oh man, that would be the GREATEST job on earth. Thanks so much!

I've heard of Kgreene, and I love his Cold Openings. :)

I can totally picture something like this happening.  Kevin making that assumption was perfectly in character.  And I could SEE Dwight making the throat slitting gesture.  Awesome.

Author's Response: Thanks, Belsum!

Believe it or not, my husband and I were discussing (and singing) Billy, Don't Be a Hero about a week ago in the car (surprised at the lack of some sort of remake), so it's pretty funny to me that that song (most likely) inspired a chap title : )  I have such a vivid picture of this scene in my head.  Shrunken testicles?  Shanking?  You know how to make me laugh, k.

Author's Response: LOL.. thanks, Nan! Isn't that song a hoot? I just had to reference it...

Yaaaaaay! I'm so glad Cold Openings is back for a new season. My favorite 'Office' moments are ones where someone is shocked by a legitimately astute or sensitive remark from Michael. The fact that Dwight's humanized moment here wasn't actually legitimate was perfect!

Author's Response: Yeah, that's probably about as close as Dwight will get... lol.. thanks!

Ooh, ooh...how about "The Dork Knight" for a title??
