Also, that's totally incentive.  Well played, lisahoo.  Well played.

"Karen had gotten the job at corporate easily and without much effort at all, and when she had asked Jim if he would move with her, he’d said yes in his head. He had meant to say yes out loud. But something happened and he just couldn’t get that single syllable out of his mouth…he couldn’t get himself to say it and make her smile the way he knew she would if he agreed to the relocation. Instead he just stared at her silently, and she nodded after something like thirty seconds, tears in her eyes, taking his quiet, non-response for the break up that he guessed it was."

I've never seen the X-Files and know nothing about Muldur and Scully, but I must say that I loved the Jim and Karen break-up scene.

Author's Response: you should watch the x files.  thanks for the review.

I can't tell you the spaz attack I had when I saw this crossover pairing. Though it seems like a bizarre match, I think you just might do my two favorite fandoms justice :)

Author's Response: yay thanks!! I hope it works out, I know it seems bizarre but I think it'll be ok in the end ;-)  Keep me posted!

I am like 99.9% sure who it is. In fact, I posted it on here saying "OH MY GOD IT'S..........." but then I figured that might ruin it for some people. I can't believe it's who it is. Why would Pam willingly go in there? AH.

Author's Response: lol like I said in my response to your first post... no comment.  The guy was waving around a knife and stuff so...Pam didn't have THAT much of a choice. ;-)  Just keep reading.  All sorts of things will reveal themselves.

I'm a bad and lazy fanfic reader who usually doesn't leave reviews, but I just couldn't resist leaving one for this story.  It's been so long since I left a review that I forgot my password and had to get a new one sent to me in order to comment on this story.  Simply put: You are an amazingly talented writer.  I can't get over the gorgeous way you put these characters' thoughts and emotions into words.  It's practically poetry.  I love all your stories, but this one is so wonderful and unique in its execution.  Both hilarious (Chapter 2's Michael impersonations and the Mulder/Scully interplay) and heart-wrenching (Chapter 3's Pam/Scully's late night thoughts of love and regret).  SIGH!

Awesome!  (Ok, I'll stop gushing now.  Thank you for this GREAT story and for the continued OFFICE entertainment.)

Author's Response: Wow this review made my life.  Seriously.  Thank you so much (like I have a bit of tear in my eye...does that make me crazy??)  I really appreciate you taking the time to get a new password in order to comment!!!!!!!!  You should email me your favorite XF episode or something so I can give you a shout out in exchange for the wonder that is this review.  Seriously, best review ever.  Thank you so much, I'm glad you're enjoying it.  I'm having a blast writing this one ;-)

Very nice start! You've got the characterizations down perfectly, you've balanced the mystery with the relationship stuff very well, and you've created a scenario I want to know more about. Great job!

Author's Response: Thank you!!!

Not weird and not worried!  I really like this so far.  It's a lot of fun to revisit Mulder and Scully after so long and I could picture them perfectly.  I eagerly await lots of UST comparisons between them and JAM!

Author's Response:

Oh good I'm glad you're on the bandwagon of my MSR/JAM comparison ;-)  Thanks for the review! More to come soon.

I am completely and utterly in love with you. You have combined my two favorite TV shows of all time, and done it whist miraculously keeping everyone perfectly in character.

The Mulder and Scully dialogue was sooooo good. I mean, Mulder with the sports reference? Scully threatening to shoot Mulder? SO GOOD.

I cannot wait for you to update. *peeeeer pressure*

Author's Response: It's so funny because when I started writing this I had any fans of the X-Files in mind.  I wanted to start with the Office and make it really kind of standard, just the facts, and then have Mulder and Scully enter like the stars that they are ;-)  Glad you liked their dialogue!!! I'm having a blast writing this one, so there'll be an update soon.  Keep reading/reviewing!

Um, XF and The Office? You just officially became my favorite author! :)

Your characterizations are spot on! I can't wait to read more!

Author's Response: lol thank you!!!!! Glad the characters seem real.

Ok Aiya, I just did the same thing! I spent countless hours immersing myself in MSR back in the day, and I'm an absolute sucker for JAM now - this story was too cute to resist. Keep going Stablergirl!

Author's Response: Taaaalk to me, I spent basically my entire undergrad sitting on my bed reading MSR.  I wrote a little but it was not very good and I never posted anything, so consider this my contribution to the wolrd of XF fanfic.  ;-)  Thanks for the review!!!

Um, YAY! I really want to read more of this; I hope it's in the works.

Author's Response: It's definitely in the works.  I have the case and the plot pretty much worked out, now I just have to get there ;-)  Thanks for reviewing!! Keep reading and let me know what you think.

Wow. I've been wondering which story would be the one that got me to register and review. The Office & X-Files combined was too much to withstand. Also, X-Files season 6 was my favorite, so obviously, you're awesome. Excellent start, please continue!

Author's Response: Lol yay!!! I'm so glad my story got you to register and review ;-)  I couldn't resist combining my first love (xfiles) with my second (the office).  And clearly sixth season XF is the best!! Thanks for the review, keep me posted on how you like the next chapters.

the end note is a comfort. :) but i really am interested to see where everyone's going. it's really well written. you have my stamp of approval. not that that means much :)

Author's Response: Of course it means much!!! A stamp of approval from rulesofjinx is a VERY important thing ;-)  Yeah, fear not...I promise that case wise it'll be more normal than it seems.  Thanks for the review.

HA! I love both fandoms and though I usually hate crossovers, this looks very cool.

Author's Response: lol thanks.  Yeah I'm not usually a crossover fan either, so this should be an interesting one to write.  Thanks for the review ;-)
