*He hadn’t even realized she was in love with him.
It was fascinating the way a person could convince himself that something wasn’t true…the way someone’s self-esteem could be so low that he would shrug off meaningful glances and heartfelt confessions because it was just too much otherwise…it just made him too vulnerable. It was like, once she suggested that he’d misinterpreted their friendship…once she’d pointed out to him that Roy was who she wanted…he’d believed her like she was telling him the truth. He’d thought, yes…yes that was what he’d done, he‘d misinterpreted things. He’d thought yes…yes of course she wanted Roy, she’d always wanted Roy and had never really said otherwise. He’d been confused, and, god, it wouldn’t have been the first time.*

This is so spot on and heartbreaking ugh

He was not going to budge from this spot. Because maybe Pam would show up...because maybe she was fine...or maybe she was needing him. He licked his lips and he sniffed…And he waited.

Something about this made me teary. Oh, how these four have themselves twisted up into knots about things that should be so easy- the finding of your other half, your true self. Beautiful. And nice bonding with our girls.

This story is so amazing I can't even really handle it. I'm beyond impressed that you made an X-Files/Office crossover work. I mean... wow. And Mulder and Scully are written so perfectly well here that I get stupidly giddy every time I get to one of their sections.

Please oh please oh please update soon! :)

Okay I seriously freaked out when I saw what this crossover was.  Brilliant!  Your characterizations are spot on.  And I've always felt that getting Mulder and Scully and their amazing rapport to look right in a story is very hard, so I am deeply impressed.  The M/S talking heads were hysterical.  When she sighs and says that it's not aliens I was cracking up.  Who knew that an Office/X-Files crossover would work so well?  These are my two favorite fandoms so this?....Lord it's like Christmas...:)  Great job, can't wait to read more!!

Author's Response:

I know! I'm shocked the story is working out as well as it is, because honestly I thought the original idea would just sort of be a joke story.  But it's TOTALLY not! And I'm so enjoying the journey!  Thanks for the compliments, still quite a few chapters left I think so keep me posted on your thoughts ;-)

Like we needed to have the tension amped up.  Sheesh.  Poor Jim and Mulder!  And I love the girl talk between Pam and Scully.  Strange how right it all seems...

Author's Response: lol I know I can't believe these four work so well together.  It doesn't seem like it should work, and yet...  ;-)

Poor Jim and Mulder! I must tell you, i am loving this story something sick. You are being wonderfully delicate and intelligent in the way you are building the tension. I cannot wait for the next installment. I do hope Scully and Pam make it back to Mulder and Jim soon.

Author's Response: Thank you!! Hopefully the next installment will come soon.

“What’s going on with you and Agent Mulder?”

“What’s going on with you and Jim Halpert?”

I think I'm a little bit in love with you right now.

Author's Response: ;-) gotta love the turn-around.
