Awwww. This was cute! And feels like very Office-level conflict.

Author's Response: Oh, thank you! It's funny to remember when we had no idea how any of this would play out-- but this one seems like it could have happened. :) Glad you enjoyed!

Nice!  I love the surprise wedding; I had no idea that was coming.  The premature birth thing was cute. ;)  I believe her, don't you? I'm glad I finally caught up with this. :)

Author's Response: Oh, yes, Angela, we believe you. Hee. Thank you for reading and all your comments- I'm glad you enjoyed it! Happy New Year!

"She isn't sure which one of them is more of a whore. She changes her mind twice a week."  Ha!  Funny line.  And for what it's worth, I think one-night stand beats living with your fiance. ;)  Then again, they may both have both counts against them so... ?

I love Turtle bowls filled with Dove chocolates.  Perfect. (Also yummy.)

Author's Response: Heh, thanks! Definitely yummy- I'm a chocolate lover, myself. I think the ongoing tension/friendship between Oscar and Angela is one of the funniest aspects of the show- it was fun to let him comment on her. Thanks again!

I love this...  He looked suddenly wary. “Don’t steal my idea, though. I’m calling the third day.”  Very Kevin.

Where did Jim's coat go?  YIKES!

Author's Response: Kevin is so much fun to write for, because he just sort of appears with these off-the-wall one-liners. I'm very pleased you caught a "Kevin" vibe off of that. And the mystery of Jim's coat will soon be solved...

"an appetizer that has something to do with eleven Lords a-leaping" - um... hot dogs? ;)

Author's Response: HA! Nice one. Thanks for reading!

And now perfect Angela voice. I love how this is shaping up. Fun drama!

Author's Response: Ooh, thanks! Angela is tooo much fun to write. I hope the rest lives up to your expectations!

Perfect Darryl voice. Really great to read Darryl done so well. Nice!

Author's Response: Thank you so much! That was my first attempt at Darryl, I think. He was fun, and a little easier than I expected, because I know guys like that, you know? I am glad you're liking it so far!

SQUEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!

Ahem.  That was more wonderful than I could have possibly predicted.  Everything, from Phyllis's bid to take over the PPC to the big reveal was just so perfect.  Yay!

Author's Response: Thank you!! I wanted a nice, fluffy ending. And if you count the Schrute's wedding rings, Pam's engagement ring, and Kelly's earrings, whaddya get? Five gold rings. I'm so clever I could vomit. Hee. I'm glad you enjoyed- thank you!

Turtle bowls!  HA!  And here I was thinking it was just another malpropism.  Nice.  And I love how Jim used his powers for good for a change.  That was simply beautiful.  I'm loving how real this all feels.  I truly could see them filming any or all of this action!

I haven't decided yet if you're going to end up having Kelly find Pam's present in Jim's coat and think it's hers.  Or if you're going to have Darryl working for Jim to find out if Pam would like the earrings he told her were for Kelly.  Either way (or a third one I'm too dense to guess), I predict hilarity!

Author's Response: Jim does have Dwight-powers, doesn't he? I still think some of the unseen season 4 might have been Jim and Pam trying to get Angela and Dwight back together, so this was sort of my nod toward that.  Hmmm, no comment on your speculation for the final chapter, although I do appreciate that you think hilarity will ensure. Thanks, babe!

Holy cow.  So much happened in this chapter I can barely process it all.  I mean, besides Angela being knocked up (!!!) you had Pam telling the camera man not to follow and Jim clearly loosing an important small present and Kevin being awesome and Kelly running off at the mouth and wow.  You need to write more ensemble pieces.  You've really got everyone's voice down pat.

Author's Response: It's been fun writing for all of them. Ensemble pieces are harder, though, and I'm very, very lazy.  Hee. Yes, this was the "rising action" chapter, if I recall my literature class terminology correctly. And Kevin is always awesome- we're just lucky to capture part of it. Thank you!!

Hee!  Love the little bit you added on at the end there.  I'm excited that you finished this thing and I haven't even gotten to start yet.  Yay for lis-fic for me!

Author's Response: Like a belated Christmas present! I forgot that I added that after you read the first draft. I thought it ended on too much of a down-beat, and if Kelly was going to come in guns a-blazin', it might as well be a tiny cliff-hanger. Glad you're finally getting a chance to read it!

okay, so you are doing more sleep depriving of me. i was laying in bed and then was like "i wonder if there was an update to five golden rings" and so.... i had to get on and check it out.
and just a warning, i am readin and typing without glasses, so this could get interesting.

of course when phyllsis said the party will be lame, all i could tink of was "happy birthday jesus, sorry your partys so lame"

poor jim, pam is loving his coat the ONE day he really doesn't want that! but pam.... aww. thats really all i can remark on that. my dog can attest to the fact that i said aww out loud. except for the fact.... ya know... thats shes a do and can't really attest to anything

i may be half blind but isn't "mornining " supposed to just be morning? (after dwight returned to work wednesday)

O little town of BethlePam! is so perfectly michael!

but i must say, i have tat trait of michael being impatietnt as christmas gets closer. ir eally am a child.

oly crap they got married! wowxza, was not expec5ing that

okay, no joke. tears in my eyes. tears!! happy tears of course. i knew it all along that it was an engagement ring but it was so decidldely perfeclty imperfect it ust was perfect. did i use the word perfect enough.

i am trying to think of a way to end the review, but i am just so happy so my brain isn't really funtioning. if i could take a video and sow you nonverbal reaction i would. soa maxingly perfect.

(ps: i hope you can read this...)

Author's Response: Em, you crack me up. Thank you for the praise, and for finding that typo- I'll fix it right away. Even half-asleep and half-blind, you are spotting my errors! I'm so glad you enjoyed this! I hope you got half as much entertainment out of it as I did of this review...

This?  So great.  Seriously, I loved it.  Thank you for a perfect Jim/Pam engagement.  The idea of it happening in the office rang true for me.  Lovely series of events leading them to that moment.  And oh, Dwight/Angela!  And Kelly!  And poor Andy.  You know how to work these characters perfectly.  Thank you!

Author's Response: Thank you! I wanted to have it happen in the office so we could "see" it, like a real episode. I'm so glad you enjoyed it- I had a blast writing it. Merry Christmas!

What a great ending!  I loved Pam's engagement ring, so beautiful.  And I think that was the perfect place to propose!  Thanks for the early Christmas present and Merry Christmas to you!

Author's Response: Thank you!! I was trying to keep this like an episode, where everything happens in the office so it can be on-camera. And so I had to "trick" Jim into proposing at work, which is really the last place he'd want to do it (although I agree, it's the perfect place!). Thanks for all your great comments. Merry Christmas!

It is so Kelly that she would still be pleading to know what her gift is - and so Creed that he would be making turtle bowls in ceramics class!  And so "Patricia" to think of mini Dove Bars..  So cute and so imaginative!

Author's Response: Thank you! I love trying to work in the character details, but I find that it's harder to write stuff that is both funny and in-character. I'm glad you are enjoying this!

"Dwight followed, looking smug. “That’s right. I have single-handedly created new life for this office.”

What foreshadowing! And Kevin's "Three French breads" was a riot!

Author's Response:

Thank you! This story was so much fun to write- it got me into the Christmas spirit.

I will never, ever tire of Jam engagement stories.  And Christmas is a lovely time for it.  Damn you AMPTP for cheating me out of my S4 Xmas episode!  This helps.  A little.  Nicely done, as always, lis.

Author's Response: Seriously- stupid strike! Pay the writers and let them get back to work! I'm glad this eased the pain a little. The holidays can be really hard when you're missing someone you love (like Jim. Or Pam. Or even Michael). Thank you so much! Merry Christmas!

I certainly hope the pizzas are coming from Alfredo's Pizza Cafe, and NOT from Pizza by Alfredo! (I hear their pizzas are like hot circles of garbage.) :)

How cute was this? A Dwangela wedding and a JAM engagement? Yeah, pretty dang cute. :) I love Angela's assertion that "premature births are very common" as a way to cover her bases. So funny, and so Angela.

Lis, you did such a great job with this story. It was charming, cute, funny, and even had a little pinch of angst here and there for spice. Well done! A great Christmas treat!

Author's Response: Hee, I've heard that about Pizza by Alfredo, oddly enough! Thank you so much- it's been a great pleasure reading your responses to these chapters- almost as much fun as writing them in the first place. Merry Christmas!

All right!  Good job getting Dwight to head out to Angela's place.  Can't wait to see where that goes.  And Pam wearing Jim's jacket and refusing to give it back is just so typical S4 Pam, it just makes me smile.

Author's Response: I've really enjoyed S4 Pam. She's so fun! I'm glad you think I've captured some of her spirit. I'm really not the prank mastermind that Jim is- it took me forever to come up with something. I'm glad you liked it! One more chapter to go...!

Great stuff, I didn't want this chapter to end.  Lots of fun with some neat suspense.  Just what is that gift, and does Pam know already?  Hmmm.

Author's Response: You have no idea how much I appreciate that comment- I was afraid this one went on too long, but I didn't know what to cut in order to address all of my different plot lines enough to set up chapter 4. Thank  you- I'm so happy you're enjoying this!

Aw, another great chapter! Good on Pam for keeping Angela's secret. Still can't wait to see what's in Jim's coat pocket ;)

Author's Response: Thank you! I like to think Pam would keep her word, although to be honest I've told my husband stuff I said I wouldn't. So who knows? And about Jim's coat pocket...there's only one chapter left. All will be revealed!

Best early Christmas Present ever! I was just about to go to sleep... but this is very much worth it!
Okay, Pam checking out his butt makes me laugh but she so does! (I would too!!!!)
Oh, and the idea of Pam in Jim's coat is just so sweet and cute and... yeah, pretty much great. In a weird way it reminds me of ... I have this picture of one of my girlies in a coat I have. I was... maybe like 18 at the time. And she was 3. So obviously my coat was ginorous on her. But it was so cute when she put it on. Pam in Jim's coat is equally as cute.... but in a very differnt way!

Hmm, who is the bigger whore. I would say... Phyllis. I mean, she did have that one night stand a while ago....

Jim is brilliant!

And so is Phyllis :D
Yep, tis was great to stay up for!

Author's Response: Oh, I hate to think I've deprived you of sleep- but if this is the response I get, I can't be too sorry! I liked running around in my husband's clothes, too- he's so much bigger than me, it feels like I'm playing dress-up. You have no idea how hard it was to come up with Jim's "scenario" for Dwight. He's clearly smarter than me if he comes up with this stuff all the time! Glad you liked- now get some rest!

Ha! Very, very cute chapter. I love embarrassed!Jim, judgmental!Angela, and of course...uh... Creed!Creed. (He just is who he is, y'know? :P)

I really like the dialogue you've got going on in this story. It's so realistic sounding. Makes the characters come alive, as though we're watching the long-lost-probably-never-gonna-see-it S4 Christmas episode... :)... :/ .... :( .... :'[

No, I'll be okay... it's just.. .dusty in here. :P

Author's Response:

Aw, I know. Stupid strike sucks. On the plus side, it gives us all the room in the world to write fic that isn't AU yet. Right? (It's more of a gray lining than a silver one, I know). Anyway, thank you- I just love writing for these people. I'm glad the dialog is working for you- I'm envisioning this like an episode, so it is a lot of talking rather than description. I'm so glad you're enjoying it! And Creed...he's just so fun. One more chapter to go!

Excellent! An Angela's preggers AND Christmas fic. This is what I've been missing from the writers strike.

Author's Response: I'm happy to help fill in the gaps- although obviously this isn't as good as new episodes. Stupid strike. I hope you enjoy the rest! Thank you!

This story is too much fun. Like the way you're using in the Angela preggers situation - and her voice really comes through (love how when she impunes Pam's 'morality' , her response is a flat 'OK.' Ha!) I also like how you're using the TH's  - in some fics, they seem superfluous to me. Beyond mimicking the show's format, I often find them redundant to the narrative/disruptive - but they work really well here, with the ensemble and as sort of a breather amidst the multiple interwoven stories. Three french breads...hee! (And can I admit, it made me recall Michaels, uh...dangling participle?)

Author's Response: Oh, thank you! I'm having fun with it, for sure. I especially appreciate your feedback about the THs- I try to use them like the show does, for extra information on the narrative or just as a funny transition. It's hard to strike the balance, because they are fun to write, and it is easy to go overboard with them. I'm happy you think I'm doing OK! More to come soon...
