Oh my GOD. That ending completely kicked my ass. This was a fantastic, completely original, and highly enjoyable story. I loved every bit of it.

And she swears to god nobody could’ve scripted it any better.

Agreed.

:) This could have continued for another 30 chapters and I still would have been on the edge of my seat for each one. I was sad to see it end.

Ah what a beautiful ending. I really love their banter and how they are trying to annoy each other. This is a really great story. Good work :)

I've loved every word of this story. I can stop checking on the RSS feed every five minutes now ;-) (okay, I might still be doing that, but work is boring.)

What really brought home to me just how much Pam loves and is secure in her relationship with Jim was the pile of girls around him at the end. Compare that reaction to her at the beginning and you can tell just how strong the connection really is.

This whole story was just so creative and fun to read. Thank you so much!

I have got to tell you this: I love your writing. This is seriously the best HOT writing I had read. It is real, funny, completely hot and very addictive! I am so glad I found this site and that I read your story. You are very talented.

Awesome, awesome story.  A unique twist to AU that you pulled off extremely well.  Loved how you blended the fun, passion and reality of these characters.

Yeah Canada!  We do have some great Offie fans up here.

I'll save the really mushy stuff for email.

First, just, thank you.  From that first email saying, "hey, would you mind taking a look at this?"  to last night's frenetic and hysterical game of Fic-Pong and Name That Chapter! - it's been great, great fun.

I loved this ending so much.  I can't imagine a better place for them to be, geographically and emotionally.  I love the little beer trade-off, Humphrey Bogart, sex instead of dinner, naked!Jim crawling on the sheets, the line-quoting, "you're totally my Angelina Jolie", and God Bless America - the last paragraph is just fantastic.  ;-)

I am so sad to see this end but thrilled to see it end so perfectly.  So talented you are.  Congratulations!

P.S.  I'm going on record as seconding LoveFool's motion for a sequel!  Think of how much FUN you'll have with that, and I'm sure you could find a couple readers to suffer through it with you...right?

*NanReg claps wildly while jumping up and down*  Stablergirl, this whole story from start to finish was absolutely brilliant.  It was everything one could hope for in a fic, and I love it with all my heart.  This last chapter sealed the deal.  Too many excellent passages to quote, but I'll go with this one:  “We’ll figure it out, Pam. I’ll drive back to Scranton in the middle of the night if I have to,” he promises and her stomach tightens and her heart jumps and she sighs out her contentment with that answer because it’s so much better than anything else he could’ve said.

This is bittersweet because I've so looked forward to every chapter, and now it's done : (  I'll console myself with the fact that you have lots of magic up your sleeve.  Until we meet again...

But of course none of them turn to look because they’re all hypnotized by his hazel eyes and his damn smile. And she does not blame them at all.

OMG!  I love that you are addressing the whole mystery of what happens between Jim & Pam being the summer cliffhanger.  (I think I'd go insane at the thought of Jim being in Stamford again, too.)

And Jim quoting the show at her -- ha! It's like a parody of bad!fic -- only not bad.  Not bad at all....

And words cannot express how much I love the final paragraph(s).  So. fucking. much.

I hope your real life adventures don't keep you from dreaming up some other crazy ass fic for us to obsess over read enjoy all summer.  I'm sorry if that's weird for you to hear...

Ok...really? I'm pretty sure you owe it to us to show us Pam yanking Karen's hair out by the roots during the following season, right? I mean come on!

I say bring on the sequel lady!...But seriously, this was just a fabulous, fabulous romp through a completely believable AU world you created with such wit and emotion.  I loved every moment of it.  I am jealous of your brain and sad to see this end.

Things I think people should know about this chapter:

  • It had more incarnations than Shirley MacLaine - you pretty much wrote 6 different chapters
  • You did not, at any time:
  • Step out onto a ledge
  • Gnash your teeth
  • Rend your garments
  • Cry out, “My art!  My art!  Why am I tortured by my own genius?”
  • You didn’t say “Screw this!” and try to French-kiss your readers.  You worked at it until you had it right.
  • Things that do not appear in this chapter (but almost did)
  • Pop rocks
  • The Exorcist
  • A mouse

My random thoughts:I’m still wowed by your talent.  Babe.  Ten points, gold star, and a thumbs up for you.  Plus, Dundie Award for Fecundity.  From the very beginning, you knew it was going to be 30 chapters.  Like Jim, you had a Plan.  You’ve always had the end exactly in mind but the journey to get there was pretty organic.  That was great, great fun for me - I never knew where the next chapter was going to take me.  Now, here we are at the penultimate chapter…and I have as much clue as to what’s going to happen next as anybody else.  I only asked a couple times, but even when I pulled out the big guns and claimed I couldn’t do a good job being your beta if I didn’t know where the story was going to end up, you didn’t tell me.  Congratulations to you, sir!  I am spoiler-free, and when Jim Halpert gets done kicking my ass, you can do the same thing with Chapter 30.

Now, if the formatting on THIS one is hosed, you're just going to have to deal with it!

Wow. I finally got around to registering so that I could leave reviews, but just know that this "wow" goes for every one of the previous chapters. You're an awesome writer, and this is an awesome story. As much as I miss your Pam and Jim "hating" each other, you write them being in love with each other so well that I can't possibly be upset. I just wish there weren't just one chapter left!

“You’re way too good looking,”

“I say that to myself every morning,”

Hahaha! Loved that exchange.

part of the appeal, she thinks, is the way that they tease each other into some kind of desperation

True, how true.

I've enjoyed this whole trip so much. Thank you for sharing it with us. You do "inner dialogue" really well, but what I like most about this chapter is how Jim just leans against that window, looking at her, saying very little, but he's still the center of the universe who pulls her back to him like a magnet. Thank you again.

Oh, man...
this story is so wonderful and perfect. This is just, so, *sign* everything I can't verbalize that is the best things about discovering you are in true love. Your mood setting, language, tone, texture,,,,,,,,all of it is just so completey excellent. Love this part: " He’s written her here like something intentional and important and in the schedule of his life, literally planned here, Beef ‘n Cheddar, like her lunch is vital to him. Like her choice in fast food is something he writes down so he won’t forget." Because everyone knows that Men only try with things that are major important to them. That hit me right between my eyes!

Really, seriously, not even kidding, if I am lying, I'm dying (and I am not even sick): your MUST write professionaly. If you are not, you are wasting your talent.
Can not wait until for the last chapter...(Please feel free to lie about "one more chapter" and give us two, three, twenty-four more chapters... I won't tell a soul!)

Another lovely chapter chock full of such evocative imagery. The post-its were the cutest thing ever and so much more "him" than a PDA.
Can't wait for the ending to this wonderful journey.
