I really liked this chapter. I think some other "first date" fics kind of gloss over the kind of awkwardness that I'm sure these two experienced at the beginning, even though they were best friends, but I think it's a necessary component of their story. I mean, they've both been through so much with each other in terms of exes and hurt feelings, etc., plus there was the whole transition from "friend" mode to "relationship" mode--that's not something that you just smoothly fall into, even after so many years of friendship. So nicely done!
Author's Response: I know exactly what you're talking about, and that is why I added this chapter. Look for more 'awkwardness' in the next chapter, as Jim and Pam make the transition...I can't wait to post it! I'm still waiting for a few more reviews...

That was a nice chapter. I think I might have liked more detail on what they discussed to get a feel for where they were both coming from- but I liked this anyway, moving on to date#2- let the fluffy reign.
Author's Response: Okay, I thought about adding details to that paragraph, but in the end, I like how open it was. I think I'm going to tweak a few things in this chapter anyway, so if I get some sudden burst of inspiration, I will add details about their conversation. Stay tuned!
