please continue...everything you do is so fantastic and I can't wait to read more.

Author's Response: All right, all right. I'll admit, I had given up on this story, but I have actually outlined the rest of it and am in the process of finishing it up. Thanks for reading :)

Great chapter!  I love the family you created for Jim.  And his running commentary is nothing short of outstanding!

Dunno about Night Out confirming Pam's QB abilities, though.  She was at pretty close range when she nailed Meredith in the ear!

Author's Response: Thanks VB. You know I would never have continued with this if you hadn't prodded me. And I still say Meredith is a magnet for accidents.

There is no remedy for love but to love more.
Thoreau
*sigh*

Since I had to read this two more times (*blushes*), I have to cite what I think is my favorite passage:

I slung an arm over her shoulders and kissed the top of her head and she grinned up at me and oh, sweet Jesus, sometimes the way she looks at me just about makes my heart stop.

She loves me. She tells me every day, as though she’s afraid she’ll never be able to make up for not saying it back that first time. I know it’s what shows in my face every time I look at her, and to see it reflected back at me is nothing short of miraculous.

She’s the one. It’s always been her.

Man oh man--that is just ridiculously, fabulously, all-is-right-with-the-world romantic.

Author's Response: How nice to know you read it more than once :) ridiculously, fabulously, all-is-right-with-the-world romantic? THAT is really kind. Thanks Nan. You're awesome, and I will keep plowing along with this story even though it was supposed to be over after three chapters and I have no idea where it's going to end up! And I'm glad you liked the Thoreau quote...I'm obsessed with quotes, can you tell? Thanks for reading!

So thrilled to wake up to an e-mail that you updated, Callisto.  Makes me all kinds of happy.

First, yet another wonderful quote.

Once again, I envision curling up with this in book form.  You painted such a vivid picture of the Halpert Clan.  You created a whole cast of characters, and they all seemed real to me.  Even with the tension between the lovebirds, I thoroughly enjoyed this.  At first I was anxiously wondering what could have happened.  I had visions of drunken Jim or maybe bitchy mom or some other embarassing public display.  I breathed a sigh of relief that it was just Roy's ghost ; )

Author's Response: Hey NanReg, good to hear from you. I'm so pleased to know you like to be told when I update! What a compliment. Yeah, I didn't realize how much I'd bitten off until I was trying to describe a huge family gathering... but I'm glad it came off as realistic. And I think Roy's ghost will make periodic appearances; Jim's got a few insecurity issues. Thanks for sticking with me and for always letting me know what you think, it really helps. Incidentally, which quote caught your eye?
