"She wonders if this is as good a time as ever to tell Andy everything, to tell him that she doesn't like the way she sinks between the bands of a folding chair, that big crowds reek of sweat and barbeque in the summer air, that she is still so very much in love with Dwight."

That line, like the rest of the story, was so beautifully written.  Great job on this!

I have a soft spot for Angela and Dwight, and you captured them so well here. He responds by meeting her gaze and taking a huge bite of his sandwich. That is so perfect.

And this:
He doesn't know that she's not particularly fond of lawn chairs or that she's definitely not fond of big crowds because she's never outright told him and that's the only way he ever knows anything so she guesses he can't be blamed.

Nice work!

Author's Response: Thank you! I found Dwight kind of tricky to write for so I'm glad you approve!

This was a really sweet story, shoutoutloud.  We don't often get a peek into these characters, and what you've written here seems right in line with what we know of them. That last one is especially heartbreaking.

And I have to tell you that I totally hear you on those deleted scenes.  Poor Dwight broke my heart - especially in Fun Run.

Author's Response: Thank you! And yes, the deleted scenes were brutal! The Fun Run and Dunder Mifflin Infinity ones were really hard to watch (although I love that Dwight's screen name is Monkey_Trainer!)

shoutoutout, I'm so glad I decided to give this a shot. I'm a huge Dwangela sort of a guy (Jim who? Pam who? :P), and I am still holding out hope that the writers will get it right with those two next season.

Some seriously beautiful writing here, some brilliant insight and introspection into Angela's inner world, and I think you've done a fantastic job conveying the angst and inner turmoil she's been feeling lo these many years now. :D

And, even though it's off season, I like your usage of the 4th as a center point for this story. Here's hoping Angela will stage her own revolution from Andy and find freedom with Dwight.

Great work!

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I really appreciate it and I hope that next season will do right by Dwangela (if Goodbye, Toby is any indication, I'm sure they will)

I spend my time reading and writing Jim and Pam fic for the most part.  I don't often venture too far but I have to tell you this is fantastic.  Angela is her own worst enemy and you did an excellend job portraying that.  Wonderful job.

Author's Response: I think that Angela being her own worst enemy sometimes is a wonderful way to describe the character. Thanks so much!

That was lovely.  I adore Dwight and Angela and you really captured their relationship - even when Dwight wasn't in the picture.  I really hope she doesn't allow herself to fall into a lifetime of sadness just because of being stubborn.

Author's Response: Haha, I do too, thanks!

This is a really sensitive portrait of someone we usually don't see depicted so sympathetically. I love framing devices like the one you use here; I think having a strong frame to hold on to can be very creatively freeing. I love that fireworks become so symbolic for her. It's really an interesting choice for someone so buttoned-up. Great work!

Author's Response: Thanks for the review! The framing was what really got me excited about this story so I'm glad you liked it.
