Much as I love the way they ultimately used the Christmas card, this would've been great too, and a very natural, real-world sort of way for Pam to finally see it. I also think the attitude Jim takes here is very much in-character - that by this point, where the pain of their relationship is completely in the past, he's a lot more accepting of the journey they had to take to get there.

This is a fabulous look into Jim and Pam's lives.  I personally loved this moment:

He loves them when the most they're like this, all wrapped into each other, hidden away from the world and they talk, sometimes about absolutely nothing, but it's just them. It always feels like a bad day is made better when it ends like this, and he loves that he always has it to look forward to every day.

Beautiful.  I have been married for 10 years to my Jim and this is exactly how I feel about the end of the day.

Also, kudos on using Jason Mraz as inspiration.  I just love that geek in the pink.

Author's Response: Aww, thank you so much, Beeswax. I gotta tell you a secret though, all the sappy stuff I write is a wish of how I hope my life will be when- and if! hehe- I find my own Jim, so it always makes me smile when someone tells me they already have theirs. I'm a sap, I know, but it's just.. well, yeah, hehe. Thanks again for reading and it's always so awesome to find another Mraz fan. He's fantastic, that kid. :)

Oh, so sweet. I especially liked when Jim comes upstairs after her meltdown, how he simply closes the door and lies down next to her. So intimate and connected. Also, I'm glad you didn't say what was in the card - I like the idea of that staying private, even from us. Lovely.

Author's Response: Awww, thank you so much, Colette. I always appreciate so much hearing from you, it just makes my day. And yeah, I don't think I would like finding out what was written in the card either.. it belongs to Jim.. and maybe now, Pam. :)

Amazing! Anytime an author finds a way to perfectly mix the angsty past and the mostly fluffy present it's...well, pretty perfect. Really interesting idea. I've never seen the card addressed like this. I hope there's lots more where this came from.

Also, I don't think anybody's mentioned this, but it's christen, not christian. For using things the first time. Unless I'm missing that that's some Jim/Pam in-joke, I think you meant christen (re: the bed). Anyway, kudos, that tiny typo didn't detract from the story at all, it was beautiful. And lately, maybe because of the minimal angst on the show, I haven't been moved by Office fanfic in a long time.

Author's Response: Oh wow, thank you so much corposant. Aaaand an even bigger thank you for pointing out that typo, it annoyed the grammar nazi in me to notice that as well.. but I'm glad it didn't deter from the story for you. And I really appreciate your kind words, so thanks again. :)

This was such a sweet story. I love that Jim and Pam are finally happy. I think it's great that the show has put them in this relationship and isn't doing the obvious thing by breaking them up to add drama to the show. (Does that make sence?) They are perfect just as they are. :)  Thanks for sharing this.

Hahaha...love the card! :)

Author's Response: You make absolute sense. I think the drama could just come from weathering all that life hands them together, because there will be angsty, bad stuff.. Pam in NY a perfect example. I think the show is handling them finally being together really well. Thanks so much for your kind words, spunky. :)

Author's Response: Thanks so much for reading, BTH. I hope you'll enjoy the next part too. :)

This was lovely. You portray them as I imagine them (yes, I know, they're not real, but I can't help myself!

Can't wait to see the next chapter.

Author's Response: Aww, thank you jkfan! And yeah, I can't help myself either. TWSS? :D

I'm a sucker for stories that involve Pam finding the mysterious Christmas card.  So sweet.  It's great that they can discuss the sad parts and realize that it was worth it to get where they are now.

Author's Response: I imagine that they have conversations like that from time to time because, well, it'd be hard not to. I don't think they'll ever be not grateful, y'know? Thanks so much for ready, EH. :)

Very nice story, oobadnama. I love the idea of the mysterious Christmas card, though I doubt it will ever be brought up on the regular show again. But it's definitely something Jim would keep and Pam would love if she ever got to read it. I followed the link to the card, and it's absolutely hilarious. I'd consider buying a box, but half of my family would probably never talk to me again. :-P

Author's Response: Aww, thank you mountaineer. It always nice to revisit old gems of Season 2 even if it'll never be done on the show. And yeaaaah, I sympathsize on the family part.. they'd totally shun me too. ;)

This was really adorable! I am dying to know what he wrote in that card.... *sigh*

Here I am thinking its a oneshot and I read at the end "up next"! Awesome :D

Author's Response: Oh, me too! And yet.. not so.. like I said, I love that it remains a mystery. Thanks for reading, aimzers!

Very nice job! I liked that you didn't actually tell us what the card said, and that Pam had her "revelation" moment like Jim had in "Money." Sweet and funny, I enjoyed it.

Looking forward to the next one as well.

Author's Response: You know, I never compared that to Jim's in Money but I suppose it works out well, hehe. Thanks so much for your kind words, Jazz.. really means a lot. :)

I really enjoyed this, oobadnama.  The little unseen moments are so appealing, aren't they?  Such fun to imagine.  Very clever of you not to include the card's message.  Keep us guessing :)  I'm a big fan of visuals, and that card is so funny (gotta get some for myself).  Very much looking forward to their night in.

Author's Response: Ahh, thank you so much Nan. Always so great to hear from you because you always have such lovely things to say, hehe. The unseen moments are great; what we wish we could see yet are the reasons why we keep writing. :)

The front of the card is VERY funny.

This was so sweet! I loved how you kept the mystery but still were able to let us know exactly what it said. Beautifully done. I love these little moments as well.

"He stares at her intensely, his eyes never leaving hers. "You have to know," he begins, whispering. "You have to know what no matter what happened before, the pain, and us hurting each other; that I don't care about that at all, I don't even think of it, because this.." he gestures between them. "It was totally worth it. I'd do it all again if it'd meant we'd have this."

I really enjoyed this particular bit. Wonderful and I'm really looking forward to "A night in" Good job with this! Thanks for posting it.

Author's Response: Hee, thank you so much, Elle. I also loved that part too, definitely a favorite line of anything I've written. Thanks again so much for the review, it made me smile. :) (and yeah, I love the card too, hehe)
