Nothing wrong with a slow, steady pace to set up the story. I'm intrigued to see what you plan to do with this. Will Pam end up checking on Jim? What's Karen hiding?
So sad to envision Pam's being reduced to repeated replays of a 20 second recording of Jim's voice. I'm sure things will look up.
