Ahhhhhhhhh, I love how frustrated this fic makes me lol. I want to shake both Jim and pam, and tell Karen, that I dont hate her, but she needs to pack her bags and jog on LOL.

Author's Response: Lol, I know, frustration upon frustration. But I do promise it will eventually work itself out. Hmmm...unfortunately, I think Karen's going to be as stubborn as possible for the moment. Thanks for the review!!

Finally had a chance to read the latest chapter. Loved the 27 seconds of silence revisted. Yes, I do remember why season3 killed me. I'm glad it was Jim that did find her crying though. I'm looking forward to him finally telling him about the baby.

Author's Response: Yeah, I thought the 27 seconds of silence worked so perfectly for that moment. It's actually something I stumbled upon while writing the scene--not in my original notes. Weird how things work out that way, huh. Yes, I do think the 'talk' will be quite interesting. ;) Thanks for the review!!

Wow, you slay me. TWICE I thought she was going to tell him! Ahhh, just tell him, Pam!

Another great chapter, but I noticed a small error. You wrote "liver preserver" where I'm assuming you meant "life preserver." Just thought you'd want to know!

Author's Response: Holy crap you guys are quick. No complaints thought ;) It's gotta hit rock bottom before they can pull themselves up. Just changed it ;) thanks, for the review and the correction, very much appreciate it!

P.S.  Check the paragraph before the 27 seconds.  I'm fairly certainly that you mean "life" preserver ;)

Author's Response: Damn, I'm tired. Thanks Nan!!

Woohooooo!  Lurking on the archive on a Saturday night paid off ; )  Actually, I think I've developed some sort of sixth sense for your updates--my spidey senses were tingling again.

Was that really 3000+ words?!  It went by so fast!  One step forward and two steps back. *sigh*  I must be a masochist, because I'm enjoying this angst so much.  Pam's inner dialog and your nod to the "27 seconds of silence" is a killer, spaceorphan.  I'm just going to camp out here...like waiting for concert tickets...or the iPad...

Author's Response: So, I get done posting and giving review responses and BAM!! a review. Lol. I'm so so grateful that you're still enjoying. I knew this was going to be a tough chapter, but if I think that if you're still on board, I have faith that others are as well. Remember, what goes down must come up...wait... ;) I'm having an incredible amount fun writing so I'm incredibly grateful that you're enjoying it so much. Thanks so much for the kind review!! :)

Oh HOLY CRAP!  I am loving how you are rewriting S3.  Now to smack Jim upside the head.  Multiple times.

Wow.

Author's Response: Wow, so glad you're loving it!! Yeah, pretty soon you'll be wanting to smack both of them...I know I want to. Thanks for the review!!

ARG!  The frustration of S3 is coming through loud and clear.  Good job, I think.

BTW, skit =/= skirt  ;o)

Author's Response: Hmmm...I hope you're okay with it continuing for a little while. And thanks for the correction, I'll go fix that as soon as I've had a good night's sleep! Thanks for the review :)

HA!  I love how you worked the plot of The Coup and Isabel's dalliance with Dwight into this!!  Nicely done.

Author's Response: Lol, yeah, I love working in stuff from the show, it's my favorite thing to do. And I so couldn't use Isabelle and not have her into Dwight. ;) Thanks for the review!!

You continue to make me feel so sad for all three of them!

I liked the start of this chapter. Karen, revealing her unease in the new environment. Jim, showed such affection for her, despite the fact that he has some feeling, at times, that maybe she isn't theOne.

Poor Pam. Those coworkers were awful to her! I did like that Jim and Karen were really good to her and tried to make her feel better.
I liked how you wrote Jim's panic! I cannot wait until they do talk and she reveals that yep, gonna be a dad, Jim. I hope when they do talk, Pam tells him what she told her sister and Isabelle, that she wants him, cuz I have a feeling he wants her also....

Author's Response: I'm sorry that I made you sad. I'm even sorrier that it's going to get worse before it gets better. I'm glad you liked Karen, I really wanted to humanize her in this story. Yeah, Jim's panic was fun, I kinda loved writing that whole scene. I wish the both of them would become honest with each other and themselves. But it may be a while. Thanks so much for the review, I really appreciate it!!

Wow. That was harsh. I find myself hoping that Jim will find out where Pam lives and go visit her before he leaves for Stamford. Wondering if he'll notice the significance of the fact that Pam looked at him when she told Roy that he definitely wasn't the father.

Nice gifts you had them give each other. Both definitely caring and sentimental ... but "over the line" by a small enough amount that each could maintain plausible deniability, if you you what I mean. Sentimental but still safe.

Author's Response: Yeah, the Scranton branch definitely has some cruel people, huh. Yeah, I kinda wish Jim would take more initiative as well but I've always felt that Jim and Pam's biggest roadblocks were themselves. I think subconsciously, he knows it's him, but I'm not so sure that he gets it consciously yet. I'm so glad you liked the gifts, it took me a while to come up with things that seemed appropriate, and I totally get what you mean. ;) Thanks so much for the review, I really do appreciate it!

So, the cat's out of the bag! Poor Pam, being attacked by her colleagues and not even being able to tell Jim he's the father... Can't wait to see what happens next! Very good job with this fic, which I should review more often :)

Author's Response: I know, no one deserves to be attacked for something that everyone should be happy for her for. I think we should all review more ;) But thank you for taking the time to drop a line, I really appreciate it!

Ah, Jim. The wheels are turning, aren't they. Methinks it won't be too much longer before she has to 'fess up. (Somebody else already said this, but please don't let it go too long. There was literally a story here where the kid was like two years old before she told him it was his.)

I haven't been addicted to a story like this in a long time. It's amazing how much these characters still feel so much like the ones we know, even in this upside-down universe. I guess I'm getting repetitive in saying that, but I'm just really enjoying this. :)

Author's Response: Ah, Callisto, I'm going to be honest with you. It never feels repetitive to an author to hear how good a job they've been doing. In fact, mentioning that the characters still seem like them is incredibly encouraging and helpful--letting me know that I'm still on the right track. No, it won't be much longer before Jim knows. I think 2 years without saying anything is a bit much--I may push it some in my story, but that's a bit crazy. For your assurance, though, I'll let you know that Jim finds out long before the baby is born and long before the story is over. But I can't help but play with the idea just a little. ;) Tank you so much for the review, it is greatly appreciated. :)

Spaceorphan, I don't think you have any idea how happy and excited your story makes me.  Each chap is like a gift.  I remember years ago reading The Green Mile.  When it first came out it was a serial--I think there was a book every few weeks, and I so looked forward to each new installment.  That's how I'm feeling now.  Just wanted you to know and to thank you :)

Author's Response: Nan, I just want you to know that I'm absolutely flattered that my story means so much to you. I think the best thing an author can hear is that the words they've written/story they've created has touched another person in some way. And you have no idea how much I appreciate your support, it's encouraging to have such an avid fan. So, you're welcome :) And much thanks to your readership :) I hope the story doesn't disappoint.

I want to hug Pam so badly right now.The poor thing :( Kelly guessing she was pregnant was great, and Kebin noticing her bigger boobs was also very in character :)
I like Karen in this, I actually never disliked her. I just didn't like her with Jim, so her being nice to Pam is super sweet, but also sad as we know what the dealio is LOL.
Update soon x

Author's Response: Aww, yeah, Pam didn't deserve what her coworkers threw at her. She probably does need a hug. Yeah, I feel bad for Karen as well, and her story arc is somewhat tragic. Thanks so much for the review, more soon!!

Oh wow, such mean coworkers! And oddly as harsh as they sound, I could hear them saying it as I read. I'm liking the slow pace of this story but I really wish she and Jim would have this talk already! I liked the little snippet in the beginning with him and Karen, thought that was really well done, I feel bad that she doesn't think she fits in. And I HATE Karen lol I like how Jim observed how Roy was a little aggressive with Pam, and I like the parallel conversation with Michael and Jim, almost the same but not really. Can't wait to read more.

Author's Response: Yeah, even with an unplanned pregnancy, you'd want people to be happy for you, right? And the DM employees are just awful people. I'm so glad you feel that they're spot on as well, as I really try hard with characterization. I'm glad you liked the opening scene, I was afraid people would just skip over that to read what they want. My whole intention with Karen is to humanize her, that she's probably getting screwed over the most in all of this. And yes, I love the Michael/Jim stuff--that scene always moves me in Benihana X-Mas. Thanks so much for your review, more soon!!

What a wonderful story! Normally I'm not a huge AU fan, but even though so much has changed, it doesn't feel AU, if that makes sense. Even though you've created a whole new world, you've written Jim and Pam so well and they remain the same characters we fell in love with, no easy accomplishment! Your grasp of the characters is on par with the best writers on this site.

Can't wait for your next update!

Author's Response: Thank you so much for the kind words. :) Yeah, my intention was for this AU to feel like it was close to canon, so I'm glad that's working for your! I'm flattered that you feel I write the characters so well. More soon!!

OH man, Kelly! She may be a little flighty but that girl knows what she's talking about. I literally feel bad for every single one here, which I'm impressed by that you actually made me feel bad for Karen. I really have to commend you on that one. And I love that Jim is half into talking to Pam and half not, very in character of him. Guh, I can't wait for the next update, hope you're typing away! I mean, no rush, because I never want this story to end but really can't wait to see what's up next!

Author's Response: Aww, yeah, I tried to write it so that you end up feeling sympathy for everyone, Karen included. In fact, I feel like she's getting the shortest end of the stick and, unfortunately, it's going to get really really bad for her coming up. Thanks so much for the kind words, hope you like what's next!!

*gasp!*  Genius!  Such a perfect tie in.  Again, my heart is hurting for Pam, lonely and pregnant.  And of course Kelly would let the cat out of the bag.  Yikes.  Your spin on this story is so intriguing.  We can't be mad at Jim, because he doesn't know what's going on.  Certainly can't be mad at Karen.  In fact, I feel badly for her.  And I can't even be mad at Pam.  She's in such an awful situation.  On the edge of my seat waiting for part 2 (and beyond).

Author's Response: Ah, thanks so much, Nan!! Yeah, there really is no bad guy in this one. I'm not fond of fics that make Karen a villain, I wanted this story more to be about how people screw themselves over by not being honest with themselves. Internal conflict over external. So, yeah, I'm glad you can really feel for everyone here. Hope to get you more soon! :)

I am so glad you are updating this quickly otherwise I would have to kill you for leaving this story at this point. It's like Season 3 anguish all over again. Argh!

Post 11! Post it now. 1 2, 3, 4... (OMG, you have turned me into Dwight)

Author's Response: Oh no! I've turned jazzfan into Dwight, lol. Okay, okay, I need to get this next chapter done...cause I think I'd have a lot of people plotting my demise. Thanks for the review!!
