Wow, it looks like Karen's support was enough for Pam to put into words her frustration with Jim - that guy from season three that all of us women should run away from. I think he's going to have to start apologizing to both of them, so get him on his knees. I like seeing Jim sorrowing for his sins ;-).

I am loving this take! Can see where they are coming from. Pam giving roundabout answers to Jim's questions after being annoyed at his roundabout answers to her questions feels very typical of their miscommunicating and unresolved feelings. Can't say Jim doesn't deserve this, something was coming his way and Karen/Pam having the first word is an interesting twist to be following.

That's a bit of a different reaction from Pam. At the same time I get her anger. She has cause. He was a big part in her life being turned upside down and then left only to come back with a rebound girlfriend on his arm. On the other hand, he's asking direct questions and only getting roundabout answers. Jim needed to hear some of that no doubt though. Very curious to see where we go from here.

Good for Pam and even good for Karen!
Jim was such an ass in season three so it’s nice to see Pam not letting him walk all over her like she did in canon. I think what annoyed me the most in S3 with Jim is that he acted like he was an innocent victim while he ignored the fact that he was the one that started the problem with Pam in the first place.
A part of me actually wanted Roy to kick Jim’s ass.
Also someone needs to tell Jim that eight months is not ancient history, and that the fact he actually said that only shows Pam that he lied about being in love.
Jim is being very juvenile, which does make him like Roy. Please update soon because I like this more
assertive Pam who doesn’t take any crap. 💪

Very glad you picked this one back up! I love Jim, but absolutely he was a crappy boyfriend to anyone that wasn’t Pam, so I think you’ve totally nailed this. Looking forward to more!

I love Karen and Pam's talk here, although I felt like Karen's overconfidence that Jim would go back to her will come back to bite her - or I hope so. Here's hoping Jim doesn't go full hermit on them.

I love wishy-washy Jim bashing, looking forward to seeing how you decide to move forward with this!

Ovaries before brovaries! I loved this chapter, I didn’t want it to end. Your Karen is very much Ann Perkins here & I adore her.

Oh, Pam and Karen were so, so brave and honest, even if their honesty could hurt themselves and other people. And they didn't blame each other, didn't look for excuses and so on... Love it!
Also, it was so lovely that Pam said 'I wish I was a bit like you' to Karen, and Karen called Pam courageous.
And that moment when Pam said she wasn't in love with who Jim had become... wow, I really like that. It feels like a bit like self-respect and... I don't know, a respectful love and not blind admiration. I'm into an idea that Pam and Jim must work out all the issues before having 'happily ever after,' I guess.
I'm full of anticipation about the next chapter. I have a feeling that there might be angry talks and backfiring, and tears... but Pam and Karen are going to be a team, and that means everything will be awesome!

Good for Pam to have the courage to tell Karen the truth. Unlike wishy washy Jim. Great conversation between these two.

Yay! Title drop! I'm a sucker for using a title in a story...

Anyway, I really like this version of Karen. I like Pam too, but it's easy on this site to write good Pam stuff. It's much rarer to see good Karen stuff. Thanks for it.

This was great. I loved that Pam had the courage to tell all of this to Karen. I'm also impressed that Karen took the news so well. At this point in her relationship with Jim it doesn't seem to carry as much of the sting as it did in canon. I think it's also not as hard for Karen because she respects that Pam has the courage to tell her.

Absolutly wonderful bit of lady bonding. I had the same reaction as Karen when Pam said "sisters before misters." Great way to have Pam make that sentiment her own. And class it up a bit too.

Can't wait to see where this goes.

This is a great first chapter! I can't wait to see what Pam says.

Ooh. Yes. I am so very here for this premise. I can totally see how the “wishy-washy” Jim mentions on Office Ladies would get you here. I love how you managed to use some of the same Dwight dialogue and completely change the tone. Looking forward to seeing where you take this!

I really enjoyed the chapter, and I too feel like Karen was a decent human being who was only guilty of being involved with Jim.

I'm interested to see where this goes, as we saw from the Christmas episode Karen and Pam really can get along well, so it'll be interesting to see what form their relationship takes after Pam says some things... How much Pam says I am waiting impatiently to find out!

Karen is a friend? Yes.
No slash? YES, PLEASE!
I'm excited to see this story, because I actually kinda like Karen and have serious issues with the season 3 Jim (I like him in general, but I just can't find excuses for his behaviour in this season).
I'm curious beyond measure about what happens next!

Author's Response:

Same! Karen is a great character and she and Pam have a lot in common. So, here we go. Karen and Pam bonding over... bad Jim :-D

Thanks for reviewing!

Well, this seems different, and as someone who always thought Pam and Karen could've been really good friends under different circumstances it definitely feels worth pursuing. Interested to see where you go with it!

Author's Response: Thanks a lot! There are some scenes around Benihana Christmas (and specially then) than Pam and Karen are quite friendly. What a waste, really!

Well I'm here for this! No idea what you'll do with their friendship or Jim or any of it but it's a great twist on a standard (what if X found Pam crying instead of Dwight) that I somehow haven't seen before. Excited to see you do it!

Author's Response:

Thanks so much for reviewing!

This was very inspired by the podcast and by rewatching season 3 and realising that, yeah, as much as I love him, Jim is a bit of an idiot here.

So that's a new take. Considering where Jim, Karen, and Pam are at this point it feels ok, surprising to say. Really interested to see where we go from here.

Author's Response:

Gawd, me too! Lol!
This is the first time I'm writing without an outline
