So I'm just going to go ahead and head cannon that Pam met Roy, saw he was an oaf, and decided to say screw it and find Jim in New York. The connection they share here is just to good for me to accept anything else. Magnificent writing to get the feeling of that connection with each other. Wonderfully descriptive too.

“Patience, Miss Beesly.” Uhhh...HELLO. Why is that so hot?!

Marvelous, as always. Now I won’t be able to get 1950’s Jim out of my head.

I love how this is not really smut (at least so far); it's love. Well done everyone.

Author's Response: Thank you, Donna! To clarify, we’re each writing individual chapters. First was Sprinkles, this one was me! I know I speak for both of us when I say that we appreciate your review so much!

Very hot, and wonderful. I loved how you showed Jim's beautiful pain. My favorite line: "Even her hair seemed happier." lol. Poor Jim. Thanks for righting that incredible wrong of season 3. Lovely work. Question: Did each of you contribute to this chapter, or are you taking turns? If it's all of you, that was pretty seamless. Great job.

Hi... I just... I hate you? In the best possible way, of course. And with a lot of love thrown on top of the hate.

I'm so ashamed to admit that it never once would have occurred to me to use That Cardigan in a song about cardigans. It seems so obvious now, but believe me when I say I started reading this and went, "ohhh, so she's a *real* genius."

"That night, as she tossed and turned and punched her pillow so that she didn’t go to work the next morning and punch someone’s stupid big nose," HA! I love slightly petty Pam. This little bit made me laugh a lot. And it was good to have that laugh, because you then immediately killed me with back to back killer lines from Jim.

"Will you put it on for me?" BT. I've read this four times now and I still don't know why it hits me so hard. And I barely recover from it when he comes back with "I was always going to come back to you."

Dead. D E A D.

"Today was for the way Jim’s hands spanned Pam’s waist so that he could center her on the bed. Today was for the way he pushed her thighs apart with his knees so he could settle himself between them. Today was for how he helped her when she reached for the hem of his shirt, then the drawstring of his sweatpants, then the elastic of his boxer briefs. Today was for how he wasted no time in firmly and fully sheathing himself inside of her with one swift stroke." Today was a pretty damn great day, indeed.

The rest -- well, you know how hot it is, but one of my favorite tiny little details you threw in was the scratchy wool of the cardigan against Pam's skin... It's so subtle but it's so good.

And I'm still laughing at wanting to punch someone's big stupid nose.

Author's Response: I love you. I love this review. I love that you loved the nose line!

JAM post-The Job working through their history and the hurt they've caused each other in a sexy way is pretty much my kink, so I am ridiculously happy about this chapter and the way it recognizes the landmines that they're going to have to spend the next few years stumbling into.

Author's Response: Thank you so much!

First off, let me just say: I am unspeakably excited about this collaboration, especially with this lineup of authors, and I can't wait to see what you all come up with. This is basically a project of my wildest dreams. (Sorry.)

This is a really great start. This feels like a very accurate journey through Jim's thought process in Season 3 and why he treated Pam the way he did (and not just because it matches my exact headcanon for S3 Jim), the sense of self-preservation, his fear of Pam wanting things to go back to exactly how they were before, and his fear of the part of himself that would be totally fine with that.

I always love it when drinking leads to a JAM breakthrough, too.

The smut is, well, damn hot, and I really appreciate how you manage to balance that with a sense of Jim's insecurity and vulnerability and fear of what Pam can do to him.

I've been away from the computer all day so I'm just now getting over here to gush properly after my initial read this morning.

BT first of all, how dare you?

This is so wonderful in so many ways, where to begin...

"Maybe Peter Pan and Wendy, except he was the one who grew up and left." ---PERFECT use of lyrics

I love that you had her throw it in frustration and leave it there. It is so in character for her and I love it. I mean honestly the entire premise of this is brilliant with the song tie-ins and her sweater but it's you so I can't say that I'm surprised. ;)

Then. THEN. Their convo was perfect and I'll say it again: you are so very good at this smut writing thing. I can't WAIT to see your other chapters!

Author's Response: Hi thank you so much I am not good at taking compliments so bye I love you

These last two chapters were beyond hot!
They are definitely much better than the
disaster that was season 3.
I guess I’m in the minority when I say that I don’t see why so many stories mention that Karen was so pretty. I actually have to agree with Todd Packer when he said that she looked like a guy.
If people were saying how great that girl Katy
was I would understand it because it’s
hard to beat Amy Adams.
Lots of jellybeans to you all, and looking
forward to the next update!

Author's Response: Aw, thank you! I personally think Rashida Jones is astoundingly pretty so I guess my version of Pam does, too, haha! But Pam is definitely more my type—I guess collectively *our* type, huh?

Excuse me, BT. But, who gave you permission to WRITE JAM SMUT IN ONLY A CARDIGAN?!

As this is one of the handful of songs from folklore I actually listen in my rotation, I was SO excited to read this chapter of it. This did NOT disappoint one bit.

Use of the sexy sweater, I absolutely love.

I mean, of course it’s their favorite ;)

Author's Response: I saw your tweet about the Taylor songs and I was excited cardigan was one! We’re gonna have you listening to the whole album on repeat soon! Thanks so much!

Okay, um, so you're going to have to give me a moment here. Holy Hell BT, you really have this whole "Jim and Pam have sex with one piece of clothing on" thing down pat. But I'm getting ahead of myself.

Everything leading up to all that is just as good. The heavy emotions wrapped up in the cardigan, the fact that is seems that Jim moved into Pam's apartment when they got engaged (great little detail), their conversation about everything, just superb.

They're so careful with each other. The pain might be old, but when the cardigan comes out it still feels raw. However now they're in the kind of place to share and let the other one into their feelings.

Of course once things get going, with all the emotional buildup it's just amazing. You really captured the depth of their emotions as they take time to really heal those old scars and to also make new happy memories together.

Bravo, just bravo.

Author's Response: Thank you, warrior!

Who's crying right now? I don't know her (also, I'm lying, so...)
That was amazing and awesome and torturously beautiful, and I really like it when you take a (random) object from their lives and turn it into something significant.
Oh, and Peter/Wendy line... yep, it hurts beyond measure, and I'm so glad that in this story, they both didn't grow up.
Annnd... I have to confess, I've heard just three or four TS songs, and it was one of them. And I adore the way you weaved the words of lyrics into the story. This is just wow!
I'm sorry, I'm getting emotional a little, but I hope you know how much I love this story and your writing.
Thank you!

Author's Response: Thank you so much, Dernhelm! Your words mean so much. We’ll have you listening to the whole album before too long!

Giving “sexy sweater” from the Office Ladies podcast a whoooooole new meaning. ;)

I love that Jim remembered the sweater after only seeing it once, because of course he did.

And the Peter and Wendy line. Oooof so good.

I also love that things aren’t always rainbows and butterflies, even as they’re engaged and moving in together. Well, what I mean is that I love that they have figured out a way to get past the hard parts and the bad memories and trust each other and fix each other. In a very sexy way, which doesn’t hurt.

Love it, love it, love it.

Author's Response: Thank you so much, WW! Sexy ways are the best ways, lol!

Oh this is very, very good! I love how they each know what the other likes, and I love your very hot description of how they deliver it.

The dialogue was so good. Both of them admitting that they were getting off on making each other jealous. Their honesty with each other shows how deep their relationship is. They've taken the pain and turned it into intimacy and made it part of them.

Also the way Pam is thinking when she gets home from work in the cardigan that day. So painful and so good.

Oh and "cardigan enthusiast" - that's a good one!

Author's Response: hi I’m in the middle of reading chapter 3 and my god woman, you are SO GOOD wow thank you so much for reading and enjoying it means so much!

“Maybe Peter Pan and Wendy, except he was the one who grew up and left.” Oh wow. I am in pain.

“she could still feel the buzz of the needles on her skin. That’s what it felt like. All summer and all fall” I love this description. Like a whole lot. It’s perfect.

“will you put it on for me?” YES PLEASE.

Oh. Oh. This is so damn beautiful. The image of Pam in the cardigan, vulnerable and exposed and so trusting of Jim to right the wrongs of the past.

BT. Holy god. You are so, so good at the smuts. It’s so very sincere and sweet and blisteringly hot all in the same breath.

Stop. That ending. So very perfect. I can’t even begin to deal with how wonderful this whole thing was.

Author's Response: I love that Peter losing Wendy line in the song and KNEW I had to find a way to work it into the chapter. I’m so glad you liked it! Thank you so much, JB!

Ma’am.

Excuse me, ma’am? MA’AM.

How dare you.

So much of this is perfect. The mind gremlin, the way her number is saved in his phone, how she’s like “absofuckinglutely NOT we’re doing this now” to “absofuckinglutely YES we’re doing this now” and I mean, excuse me, again I ask: how dare you?

The masters have come together to make a masterpiece and I don’t even know what to say! This was so cute! When I pulled up the site and saw it I gasped because all of the authors working on this are so talented that my brain just like short circuited. “Is swaying really dancing when he’s doing it with her?” So good!!! Can’t wait for the next chapter!

The mind gremlin! The rules! Oh my god it’s all so good. I love how you keep coming back to them.

“thinking about us.” Ugh my heart. Pam’s response is so great. It’s perfect that she calls when he stops replying. He can’t just leave her hanging like that...

This is just about the least coherent review of all time, because honestly I’m in awe and this was just perfect. I can’t get over how well it mirrored the song.

When this is all said and done everyone who's not an author, and lets face those of you who are are going to be little piles of mush in their respective places arent't they? Not a bad way to go.

Great way to start all this out. Oh Jim the angst you're going through with everything here. The rules and the walls you've put up. This time around there's only one person who can break through them. And with a little liquid courage the first most important cracks are formed in those walls.

I love how forward Pam is here. She has her chance and she's going to take it. I'm sure there will be time for talking about the imporant things later, but for right now, it's more important that they just finally be together. Nothing in their way anymore. Lovely imagry through everything. Great way to start this off.

Had time to read and what a way to start this fic off! Pam threw Jim off so badly that I was sitting here like YUH GET IT GIRL. This universe>better than the actual. 😂 I'm tempted to max out my Jellybeans now since its the inevitable.

What a fantastic start!
I like this so much, and I ADORE Jim's inner gremlin! I was smiling reading it, and laughed aloud at the 'thick walls' line.
Thank you so much for writing this (and especially for sending Karen to the Corporate!)

SPRINKLES HOLY SHIT!
Well to start off, thank you all for blessing us with this collab. I KNEW it was too quiet from you all...

So, to my review now.

Well, thank God Karen didn’t exist in this universe you’ve created here.
The RULES oh my God. I am very convinced that Jim would have returned with a set of rules similar in both this scenario AND in the canon one. Easily something that one with their guard up will do.

Poor Pam, all she wanted was coffee...

Aw, good ol’ Jack coming to the rescue. Loved the texting and call.

The whole meeting up part has me at work right now, swooning over Jam yet internally screaming “YAS YOU’RE FINALLY F*CKING!

Just. Sprinkles, you did the damn thing! Now, time to add The 1 to my playlist. d84;a039;d84;a039;

Sprinkles! I couldn't love this more.

"It’s filed under “NEVER CALL THIS NUMBER”. --when I say I laughed

"They spoke...about nothing, but it felt like everything." I love love love this. That is so them.

"His lips to her ear, he whispered, “Is it always like this, for you?”" GOD. I mean, the perfect line.

Her telling him that she loves him and the stop stalling line, ugh. Then I hope the walls are thick...I died.

You kicked us off in an amazing, AMAZING way.

Author's Response:

Thank you for this! I appreciate getting this from a writer I so admire.

That bit with the cell number...I stole that from a movie that was either Ashton Kutcher or Justin Timberlake.
