Oh, man. I really like the way you structured this one. It tells you so much about Pam and her fear of change and how she copes and how much she's given up because of that fear of change over the years.

Author's Response:

I’m going to be sad when you’re done with  your read- through! I’m really enjoying going through these with you.

I had to invent a lot of backstory for this one, which I was always worried about. I generally preferred looking forward (despite how wrong I usually ended up being). I did like structure like this in a story, though- it was like having a solid foundation to build on.

Change does hurt Pam. I'm not a fan of it. I don't even like when websites layouts change.

My college move was not as bad as Pam's. At least, not the initial. I found the second semester move back to be harder than the first. I think the first time, I was still so excited about what it all meant, and so was everyone else, it was great. The second semester, well, there were no more delusions.

Isn't everything easier with Jim? Moving included, obviously.

Author's Response: EM, somehow you commented 1.5 years ago and I missed it. Sorry? :)  But I truly thank you for the comment; you've consistently been so encouraging. Thank you!

I think this is a really adorable piece.  It isn't particularily remarkable, but it's certainly cute enough.  Sometimes, I was a bit lost in the paragraphs.  I think it's a combination of flow and too little variance, but you've got a great start.  Keep up the good work.

Author's Response: Thank you.

I love this. The last line is perfect!

Author's Response:

Oh, thank you!

Oh that ending!  I knew it was coming (since I knew you were doing five) but it still made me cry when I got there.  Beautiful.  Love the art motif.  I'm so glad you went ahead with this one.

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad all my real-life moving stress could be channeled into something good. Sorry about the tears, sweetie! *hugs*

Very, very sweet - looking forward to that last move, I can tell you!  Probably even more than Pam is, which is very, very sad, I know.  ;-)

Author's Response: Ha! Yes, we're all a little too invested in this, I think. :)  I'm glad I could help you get a fix. Thank you!!

What a lovely story, and a great look inside the mind of Pam.  Well done!

Author's Response: Thank you very much! I like Pam; it's fun to see what makes her tick.

This kind of made me cry.

Author's Response: Oh, no! In a good way, I hope? I guess I'm happy I provoked an emotional response. Sorry about the tears, though! (Thank you?)

So nicely done.  I especially loved this line - "This move was a million times easier than the last one; after all, choosing what to throw away was much easier than choosing what to leave behind."

Author's Response: Thank you! That line is actually what popped into my head and made me write the whole thing, so I'm so glad it spoke to you!

Lis, you always get me with the endings! Efficient prose indeed! Great job and I hope now you've worked out your frustration with moving. Welcome back!

Author's Response: Thank you! I think the ending justifies calling it fluff, don't you? Hee. It's good to write again!

The metaphor of moving for Pam's state of mind/phases of her life is terrific - especially love how you threaded through her art as what keeps her together (wish they'd develop that on the show a little more - could really flesh her out as FNB). And of course, the ending - well, I'm the world's biggest sucker for Pam, Jim and a threshold. Really nice portrait of Pam!

Author's Response: Thank you so much for the thoughtful review! I liked exploring the idea that Pam has never really liked change, because moving is such a huge change. I don't have a very strong Pam voice, IMO (notice how she didn't actually speak, here!), so I am so glad you thought this did her justice!

This is lovely. You've captured something that seems very Pam, with the homesickness and the dislike for change.

Author's Response: Thank you! That's really exactly what I was hoping for, so it is very encouraging that you think I managed it!

So sweet.  Really loved this.  Now, if they could only move in the same direction on the show:)

Author's Response:

I am holding on to hope for now! Thank you!

Loving the fluff!  And this: "I'm going home"
