Yay! I finally had time to sit down and read this through. Chapter one is a great setup, especially: Only now his shirts are a little more expensive and uncomfortable and he has to look directly at Dwight all day. It's a nice, subtle nod to how screwed Jim is, without hitting us over the head with it.

Hey, I just read the whole thing, and it is very likely the best JAM I've read. Really, really sweet, real good characterization. Oh, and the story is really believeable and awesome. Kudos. Further inspiration in 2007!:-)

Such a cute ending :) All the angst in the build up was totally worth it!

Great way to get Karen out of the picture plus we didn't have to see her say goodbye to Jim.

I'm still in last night's clothes, you're in your pajamas, and we're both hung-over. It's the way I've always planned it, Pam.

Nice. Lovely fic :)

Wow, yeah, that look from Casino Night, the one that said, "Come on, please don't do this." Nice.

You've made a nice progression with these chapters. The connection between Jim and Pam is palpable. I'm glad I get to read this in one shot!

He wants to make a joke about her boots, badly, but he holds it in.

Hee. And I bet he won't have to feel obligated before he compliments Pam :)

You're building good anticipation here - good tension.

Love here that Pam's nitpicking her apartment, then we get to see the tree through Karen's eyes, and it's really pretty. Great metaphor for how Pam sees herself, I think.

Somehow she doesn’t think he would ever miss the toilet. He probably puts the seat down, too, when he’s done.

St. Jim! I love it.

And PamXRoy = ouch.  :)

She’d understand if she knew, he thinks.

Jim, Jim, Jim. If she knew, you wouldn't be getting any!

Love that Jim confides in Toby, at least to some extent. I wonder if he's fooling Toby at all? And this line is perfect:

He likes the things that he can see outright, things he doesn’t have to reach in too far to find.

WOW! 69!! This was a wonderful read. I think you hit those characters dead on. The dialog from Jim, in several places, I could see him saying so clearly. And, well, you know, HOT! Thanks it was awesome!

Author's Response: Thank you for saying that because that's very important to me to get the character's voices right.  I'm glad you liked this!  Thanks for reviewing!

Poor Karen. But GO JIM AND PAM!!! hee.

Thanks for this.

cheers.

Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing it!  As much as I feel bad for Karen, there's just no way she can win over Pam.

Such a great story!! I loved it...especially this part. "No, that's-" Karen presses into her forehead with her fingers, squeezing her eyes shut. "That's not what I mean. Please just tell me if you still have feelings for her." Jim takes a step back, shoving his hands into his pockets, and looks up at the sky, and it's clear and full of stars. He's tired of pretending. "Yes," he simply says.

That's totally what I want to see happen on the show...I don't need Jim to say he's still in love with her, I just need him to admit out loud, to someone (in my mind, Karen), that those feelings for Pam are still there.

Great job, and I look forward to reading more works of yours in the future!

Author's Response:

Thank you!  *secret:  that's my favorite part too.*

I'm really glad you enjoyed this, and thanks for taking the time to review it!
