I followed your link on TWoP, and even though I originally read this a long time ago, I wanted to tell you that this is such a great story. All of the moments feel so real and it's just such an enjoyable read. And in my mind that scene in the skating rink really happened on the show, too :-)

Yes I am determined. In fact, I'm so determined that it's started interfering with my real life, but really who needs college when you could write fanfic for a living. Sadly, you can't write fanfic for a living so I guess I'll have to graduate, which means I'll have to keep studying, which means I won't have as much time for fanfic as I used to. But luckily I managed to find some time last night, so I can safely say that the next chapter is at least 1/3 done. Hope that's good news! Thanks for the review!

I definitely didn't forget about this story! And I just spent my morning re-reading it so I remembered everything for the latest chapter. This is one of my favorites. You nail the awkwardness so well. I love how Pam slowly got more confidence to re-kindle their friendship and start their romance. While this is AU, I also really liked how it's not too far removed from the plot of the show. I don't know if you planned it that way, but I enjoyed it. Great job :-)

Author's Response: I'm glad, it's been so long and I know that so many stories are posted - I didn't know if people would still remember this one.  But i'm very happy you liked it.  Unfortunately I know a little something about awkwardness. :-)   It wasn't really intentional that this dovetailed the show, but happily it did.  Which is good because I used to write chapters as they inched closer and yet they were getting farther apart on the show and I would be depressed.  But now, it's all good.  Thanks for the review.

Ahhhh! I am so glad you updated! I was just re-reading this story the other day and was really sad since it looked like you abandoned it. But yay, it's back! I really hope the Pam and Jim in your story don't go months and months without speaking and that there is NO Karen-like person that Pam goes out with. But I will read whatever you care to offer. Hope life in Japan is going well! :-)

Author's Response: I know, I'm a dead-beat-fic-writer T_T Don't worry, Jim and Pam in the story will be meeting up soon, as fun as writing all these angsty missed connections are. And Japan's great, though it's getting hot.

I didn't think I'd like this story. Don't take that the wrong way! But I am not so much into the Pam/Ryan. But, this is really well-written. You've done such a good job turning Ryan into a sympathetic character. Yet none of it feels too far removed from the version of him on the show. Can't wait to see who Pam "chooses," but please, don't let her pull a Kelly Taylor and choose herself!

My heart was lodged in my throat when I read that Pam went to New York to see Ryan! As I was reading that, thinking that she chose Ryan, I realized just how much I was pulling for Jim in this story! I am such a sap. I loved the reference to Wicked and it really made sense when taken in context with the story as a whole. And I really loved the ending. So simple, so sweet, so them. Looking forward to the epilogue!

Very cute! It seemed like Pam was going to meet a new friend at first, but I like that it turned out to be Jim's ex. I'm glad you'll be continuing this!

Wow! This is so, so good. I love your characterization of Mark, I love how Pam started to have doubts when Kevin showed up, I love how they didn't have sex on the porch...basically, I love everything this story chooses to be!

Oh wow. Very well done! I especially liked this line:

But it's not a house with a terrace!

This is such good stuff! You know that Jim will be getting tons of love letters when the documentary does air. I hope we get to see such poignant moments like these on the actual show!

I didn't want to read this story, Larry, but I decided to give it a shot, and I'm glad I did. Opposites attract and I think these two illustrate that. And the idea that Angela is the one to bring Jim "back" is very sweet. I'd like to think someone who is so religious also has it in her to be so kind.

However, I wish you had spent a little more time dealing with how they fell for each other. The scene where Jim gives Angela a piggy back ride was really nice and I would have liked to see more examples of what they see in each other. Also, it seemed like Jim really didn't think about Pam much once he and Angela got together. Maybe that's realistic, I'm not sure. But the romantic in me wanted to see a little inner struggle over the fact that Jim had fallen for someone else. 

All that being said, this was an enjoyable read! Is it sick that after all this I still didn't really want Angela and Jim to end up together? This is why I don't venture much out of my fic comfort zone :-)
