Pam's discovered the world of internet chat rooms. Jim can't resist the chance to be near her in cyberspace. Spoilers up to Cocktails. Please forgive the fact that this review is, well "lame" comes to mind. First of all, I love this whole thing. The storytelling is wonderful. Secondly, when Karen threatened Jim with a sexual harrassment suit, I don't think I've ever hated a fictional character quite so much - I called her a very bad word in my head. Thirdly, the ref to MST3K made my whole day! (Just exactly how sad is that comment?)
Yay, very happy and quite looking forward to more. And, I'm such a nerd - when Pam signed on, I actually got a little nervous - I was thinking, "Oh , be careful," but I'm not sure who was supposed to be careful - him or her. Great storytelling. (And thanks for switching up the yogurt - woman cannot live on mixed berry alone.)

i love this story...so much. there's really nothing more to add, just love it. also, i have great appreciation for the fact that you've been "illustrating" your work lately. thanks for the massive effort you always put into your posts.
I caved and wrote a post-Cocktail fic that can be best described by Jim's Talking Head from Season 2 Ep 6:
Fight! Fight! Fight! FIGHT!
OK, so you know you're brilliant, right? Seriously? This - killed me. Too much wonderfullness to quote, but here's a few: red solo cups as far as the eye could see; townies bring knives; and the fight...so true to life, people just become absolute morons when they fight - the lame trash talk and the shoe (priceless); and Michael finally doing something when Ryan gets hurt - perfect....And of course Jim would do it again.
I just got sucked into this story. The banter is great, and I really loved the "Shut up you" moment. My cheeks are a little sore from all the smiling. Great story, and I'm really looking forward to the next chapter.
This is just amazing. I just commented on lj, but felt the need to comment here too.
This hurts and feels amazing all at the same time. Poor Pam, poor Jim, and oh Karen...and the last sentence - I could here the buckle and zipper and the dooe and the silence. Dear heavens, please give us a follow-up (I'll do anything in my power to help with that - you name it.)
Oh my good gracious! I was fascinated with that show and so disappointed that it only went one season. This is so interesting, and I love how you've "assigned" the Office characters.
Author's Response: I absolutely love that show, it was so different! I'm glad you liked the character assignments.. it'll be interesting writing Kelly as a "Kim Kelly" kind of girl. Plus, since Rashida was actually in the show she was an easy one to place :)

MEMBER'S CHOICE - It's Michael's Birthday. Pam remembers. It's a whole lot different than it was just a year ago.If you're a sap, I'm basket case. I actually gasped out loud. You did a wonderful job with the first person - it put me right in her mind, made me fell the despair and hopelessness...then, when he gave her that one sentence, it was like the light and hope rushed back in. (yeah, melodramatic of me, i know, but it's 2 a.m. here, and i miss them so much.)

Oh Geinnob - I miss them too. I think it's what sparked this. Seeing them share a little moment in the "Newpeat". I just kept thinking - "See???"
This one happened really quick for me. It was written in my head in record time. And of course - I couldn't let her go without some kind of hope. :)

"And with their hands clasped together so hard there isn’t any blood flow, they think mostly about how it could be, how it would be, if they let it." Oh man! It hurts, but the imagery of the hands is perfect.

Wow, that was wonderful. This: “Say more,” he whispered. - HOT, whispery, throaty JimVoice does things to me.
This: “You’re breaking my heart, Beesly.” - killed me, dead. I type with zombie fingers.
I could quote half a dozen more lines, but I won't. But, I loved both of them talking about how it's just too hard without the other, and Pam's line about feeling too old.

I am favoriting this RIGHT NOW. I asolutely love this - and I love your phrasing and writing style. The cliffhanger is very nearly killing me - in short, brava!
Also, I re-read the first part, and have to reiterate my previous statement about "You're breaking my heart Beesly." That just does me in.
(Are you a librarian? I spent many years employed at the public library - I may have to express some book geek solidarity.)
I'm a year or two away from starting my MILS, so I'm just a lowly clerk right now--but there are perks (Book repair! Fine cancellation! Cat-eye glasses! Comp time!). I love it, and couldn't imagine working anywhere else. I really appreciate the review--it makes me feel warm and bubbly inside. :-) Look for the next chapter on Saturday--hopefully I can maintain people's interest with the next one.

So funny: Ryan swearing the phone won't work, warning Kelly multiple times, then just hanging up.
This made me breathe diet pepsi, so thanks for that: "Yes! Baltimore is in Maryland. You’re really doing great with this new area of the country, Karen,” Michael answers proudly. So hilarious! I can't figure if he's being earnest or sarcastic (probably earnest).
Love that Karen's not an evil bit-cuh.
So excited to read more, and as always, more than willing to beta if you need another.
Oh man! I just read three chapters at once and whoa! Ryan's situation with Kelly and his assessment of Pam was really great - just really wonderful. (The Titanic stuff was killing me - laughed out loud.) I do think my favorite line of the whole thing was about Kelly not calling any less just because she dumped him - perfection.
And I still love JealousJim. The Ryan stuff isn't bothering me at all - not sure why, because I sorta kinda want to claw Karen's face off every time she gets anywhere near Jim.
I was really fine with the dance, feeling like Pam deserved to feel wanted and protected (the way dancing can make you feel), and then she looked at Jim, and my heart broke for them both because it feels like they are right back where they started - she's with someone she doesn't love and he's trying not to watch.
Then, J&P in a confined space - always wonderful.

"incurable maturity" - so funny, and very Stanley; the Creed stuff is hilarious - and the fact that even he can tell that Acct has one too many people is great. But the end, ouch - made my stomach hurt. Great stuff, really enjoyed it.
...so I have to agree with the previous reviewer. This is well-written for BadFic. And that statement has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that I found it hot - which, believe me, it going to lead to some serious introspection.
Also, a series...you have my support.
