23. Just moved from Small Town, Minnesota to Slightly Larger Town Near Chicago. Desperately trying to get rid of my accent.

Experiencing a bit of a dry spell with the whole fanfic business, but my other stuff has been gaining momentum, so I'm sorry if I don't post stuff very often. I am a slave to the Plot Bunnies and their tiny, cute little Plot Bunny noses with the whiskers and the twitching and general disregard for my overt joy when I catch them and don't let them hop madly away.

Please, for the love of all that is holy continue this. Words cannot describe my love for both zombies and the office standing alone, but together they may be the greatest thing ever. And somehow you've captured it perfectly. Brilliant! Keep going!

Summary: An alternate universe that sees Pam turning over a new leaf at a private art school in Chicago, Ill. In this world, Dunder Mifflin doesn't exist, although a few of its characters are guaranteed to pop up here and there. On her first day, Pam meets Jim, a cute, affable, and somewhat geeky Journalism major who introduces her to indie rock, old movies, pop culture and a whole new world.

i am full metal in love with this story and have been feverishly downloading each song as i go. i have the utmost respect for people who really know how to set a story to music, and you've got it down. and as a fellow West Suburban Chicagolander, i've been loving the references to the city. also, way to write an au where the characters still feel like jim and pam. i love this!

Author's Response: Aww, thank you. I am a music freak; my friends bought me a mp3 player with 80 GB for my birthday, and they couldn\'t believe it when I filled it up almost immediately. Perhaps I need two... I just had to set this story to music, because it\'s typically the music I\'m listening to at the moment that inspires everything... So, thank you, I\'m glad you like it!\r\n\r\nAnd- what! what! Fellow Chicago West Suburbaner! (Gang signs.) The weather outside is just awful today. :(

Summary: A companion piece to Indie Rock & Keds that follows an AU Jim and Pam while they deal with the everyday squabbles that come with living together as they struggle through the daunting beginnings of their careers, and eventually try to find a place to permanently settle down.

I said "Look what you did, you little jerk" to one of my coworkers the other day and she didn't get the reference. I immediately felt like an ass. Also, as I read this chapter, Home Alone 2 was playing in the background on ABC Family. Strange...

Also, I just really love this story. I was a fan of Indie Rock, too, still on board!

Author's Response: Oh my gosh, if you had said that and I had been in the vicinity, we would have had a Home Alone quote smackdown! Ha-ha. How could anyone not catch the reference? That movie is a classic. I can\'t survive the holidays or even listen to one Christmas song without thinking about Macaulay Culkin fighting off poor Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern. Thank you for leaving a note, I\'m glad to hear that you\'re still on board.
