10 Aaah! OMG, the Jim/Pam angst! It's yummy, though. But I can't wait for the Jim/Pam fluffiness!
I was kind of shocked that Pam slept with Brian. It seems a little OOC for Pam... I can understand her going home with Roy after the wedding because he's someone she'd been with for so long, and she had a relapse, seeing Jim with Karen and realizing she was alone. And having Roy trying to woo her again was enough to make her want to go back to something she knew, where she wouldn't be alone. But she hasn't known Brian that closely for that long in this story, so it was kind of shocking that she slept with him. But that's what fanfic is all about, right? Saying "what if--".
I'm really looking forward to the next chapter!
Thanks so much for your review and I totally understand what you are saying about Pam and Brian. I tried to paint it from early on that he was there for her and looking out for her, but I know I could have established the relationship better. i thought about having him come to the chatroom as well, but couldn't find a way to make that work.
When I first mapped this out, Pam was going to leave the wedding with Roy, but as I got closer to that point, it just didn't make sense anymore. That's when Brian kind of poked his head up and said, "well...i'm here...use me" and I did :)

What if Jim had finally been stretched to the breaking point before Casino Night?10 I should have noticed the "dubious consent" warning, because that part hurt me. I can't picture Jim being like that... but then you won me back, somehow with his, "It wasn't supposed to be like that," and with Pam looking sad and terrified about it, and with Jim crying, and Pam taking care of him and redressing him, and helping him to her car. I'm kind of speechless after this.

A story of loss, love, and inspiration.10 You did a beautiful job on this story. I love the way you portrayed both Jim's and Pam's journey together, and especially Pam's own journey to her goal of having her own little family, AND a degree in art education. This was one of my favorite stories about that aspect of Pam. Fanfic writers write about Pam's art all the time, but I felt like this was the most realistic one I've read. And I love that Jim's mom is also an artist and helped support Pam through her period of not being able to create anything.
Very sweet story. Definitely one of my favorites. The last chapter brought tears to my eyes.
Oh, how lovely to read this, PuffingNoise! I'm really surprised that my first big attempt focused on Pam. She's kind of hard to pin down in my mind, but (and this might be weird) I feel like I got to know her better writing this story. I really loved giving her everything she wanted after hurting her in the beginning by taking her gift away. I felt so bad for her! I'm so glad you enjoyed it and I'm pleased the last chapter was moving...I'm glad to know I wasn't the only one crying!! Thank you so much for such a sweet review.
