Bio:
After being raised by feral dogs deep in the heart of Appalachia for my first 17 years, I rescued a group of imperiled socioanthopologists from certain doom at the hands of some moonshiners in an undisclosed mossy holler of my homeland. Silly with gratitude, they taught me to read and eventually, to make letters with a pencil. I'm continuing that learning process by writing fan fiction here.
As you can see, I'm still having trouble with run-on sentences and cliches. Yet I've come so far.
Oh, and I love music - especially jazz.

Glad you decided to end this with a bang. *grin* Seriously, I've enjoyed this story immensely, and was delighted to get back from a few days out of town and see it finished. Finally, these two kids figured out what they wanted...and it was worth it.
Author's Response: Was that a cymbal crash I just heard? I'm happy to see that you enjoyed my story and it certainly was a fun ride for me as, I hope, it was for you. Thanks so much for staying with it .

Oh Yes, Mr. Bill! (sorry, I had to say that) Seriously, this is very well written and I love the idea you are setting up so nicely - take the silly, noncommunicating ones and put them in a car together for hours in snowstorm? Awesome. I am eagerly awaiting the next chapters.
Author's Response: Thanks for the chuckle. I've always liked the idea of "road trip" stories...taking the protagonists out of their normal element and letting unfamiliar circumstances lead to awkward and sometimes "eye opeining" situations. We'll just have to see how Jim and Pam handle things.
Date: July 08, 2009 Title: Chapter 6: Chapter 6
Whoa, Pam's getting naughty and the snow is still falling. I really liked this description: "She just did something to him...just as she had from the very beginning."
Author's Response: Well...I did say things might get a bit steamy in the end...but it's gotta build slowly. Maybe being in the car alone with Jim just might be making Ms. Beesly think lots of thoughts...hmmmm! Or, at least starting to. And as far as Jim goes...yeah, there's just somethin' about that woman.
Date: July 11, 2009 Title: Chapter 10: Chapter 10
I'm loving all of this, but I especially liked this paragraph. It seems right out of Jim Halpert's head:
Jim’s thoughts raced back to Scranton…and Karen. He still hadn’t called to let her know that they…that he was alright. He hadn’t called. It chilled him to realize just how distant she was in his mind. But the damn thing was, what bothered him the most was the fact he just didn’t feel compelled to turn to Pam and ask her to excuse him for even a few minutes so that he could call his Karen to tell her he was safe and dry and warm in some quaint old motel with his used to be best friend that he still had ‘feelings’ for and how terribly lucky they were to have found the place and how terribly lucky they were to be able to share the last available room and how even more terribly he missed his awesome girlfriend and how he hoped they could get plowed out as soon as possible so he could rush back to Scranton…and to her. It just wasn’t at the top of his list.
Author's Response: Whoa...I'm almost out of breath just reading that, again! Glad you liked it.
Date: July 11, 2009 Title: Chapter 15: Chapter 15
I'm glad you're updating this fast, because I'm on the edge of my seat here.
God bless Frieda.
Very nice job building the tension.
Author's Response:
Yeah...I like her, too! And I'm so happy that it's keeping your interest.
Date: July 13, 2009 Title: Chapter 18: Chapter 18
Well, good morning, Jim Halpert. Bwahahaha. Now that's a cliffhanger ending for sure.
Seriously though, I loved the way you described Jim waking up and realizing Pam was curled up around him. Nicely done.
I don't see any way for them to avoid talking about what they need to talk about now - anxiously awaiting the next chapter.
Author's Response: Thanks for reading and stay tuned...with these two, you never know.
Date: July 13, 2009 Title: Chapter 16: Chapter 16
I could picture Jim trying to figure out a way to get comforable in that chair, twisting and turning and forgetting his pillow, etc. Nice metaphor/parallel for the discomfort he's feeling with the whole situation.
Author's Response: You sound like me when I was trying to write that part...I actually got into a straight back chair and wriggled around for awhile. And yes, I think Jim had a lot more on his mind in that situation than just the chair. Thanks so much for your interest.
Date: July 14, 2009 Title: Chapter 19: Chapter 19
OMG, you big meanie. Here I thought they'd finally get er...talking. I loved the way you wrote the wrestling scene - playful then serious. But Jim need to grow a pair. It's Booze Cruise all over again.
Author's Response: What can I say....it's Jim and Pam and you know...things are complicated!
Date: July 14, 2009 Title: Chapter 22: Chapter 22
I'm torn between being happy this story is still going on, and wanting to step into the story and unleash a big 20 oz can of Whoopass on both of them.
Author's Response: Sounds like the story's got your dander up a bit. That's a good thing, right?
Date: July 20, 2009 Title: Chapter 38: Chapter 38
Dear Mr. Bill. This is a novella, not a story. You weren't lying when you said you'd been working on this for awhile, were you? I'm just happy Jim has finally made a phone call and I can't wait to "see" Pam's picture.
Author's Response: Well, I did say at the very beginning that it was a long story...and yes, it took some time to write. But I'm pretty confident that things are on thier way to being worked out. I just appreciate your sticking with it as I spin my tale.

This is exactly the way it happened that week. I'll try not to repeat all the things that have been said that I agree with, but I loved this story as much as Karen wanted to keep Jim. *grin* The characterizations were spot on, Karen's aggresive desperation and Jim's inertia while he processed what Pam had said. I especially loved how seamlessly it fit with canon with things like: " No kidding. I’ll be famous" setting the stage for the yogurt lid. Just plain awesome.
Author's Response: Thanks, jazzfan! This particular week has been the subject of such speculation and differing opinion. I\'m glad to see that my view of how things might have happened resonates with so many of you. I\'m glad you liked it! Thanks for letting me know. :)

Date: August 20, 2009 Title: Chapter 4: Let's go have a baby!
Oh this story is beyond cute, and this is a simply superb Michael line - I can just see his indignant expression: “Uh, Oscar, do those medical professionals love Pam like I do? Are those medical professionals going to hug and hold Jim when he's scared? I mean I'm practically the Godfather of that baby. They need me.” That's gold.
Plus, this story is bringing the (fictional) reality home that my favorite (fictional) couple, after all the angst, is really having a baby. It's still hard for me to believe.
Author's Response: Thanks so much, jazzfan. It is pretty amazing that there will soon be wedding and baby cannon on the show. It's a JAMmer's dream come true.
Date: August 05, 2009 Title: Chapter 2: Round and Full
Weeeelll, I tried to review this last night but a big storm came through and just as I hit submit and I lost connection. (dang satellite) Anyway, I don't see that it's here so I'm trying again.
This is so very sweet, and this is one of the best Halpert lines I've seen written in a good while: He held up his hand. “I've got Greenpeace on speed dial, so no worries.” Also loved the "assistant to the pregnant person."
I couldn't help but think as I was reading the prep: gosh Jim, you should have painted the nursery before now. What a slacker!
Looking forward to the next installment
Author's Response:
Ha ha. He's got 5 more weeks! If it took him years to tell Pam that he loved her, I can imagine him being a little behind on the nursery.
Thanks a bunch for reading and reviewing :)
Date: August 11, 2009 Title: Chapter 3: Everything Is Going To Be Okay
I did not see that coming. /Pam Hurry up and write, dang it.
Author's Response:
Lol. This chapter is very close to my labour experience and I also did not see waking up with my water breaking 5 weeks early coming either. Good times.
Thanks for your review and more to come soon!
Date: March 04, 2010 Title: Chapter 7: The Time has Come
Very cute about the sex mixup, guess the little guy was shy...but Pam, Pam, Pam. Epidurals are your friend. Here's to the real baby Tuna tonight!
Author's Response:
Yes, I can't wait to see that adorable little tin o' tuna!
The fear of epidurals is from my experience, too. I was so young and innocent. By my second baby I smartened up!
Thanks for your review!

Argh, this is such an honest depiction of how it must have been for Pam. I wanted to give her a little hug and tell her it's going to be okay, and that yes, she did the right thing. I also like the way you wrote Roy. He wasn't an ogre - he was just clueless - up to the very end, as you point out. Such a quiet, truthful story.
