Bio:
After being raised by feral dogs deep in the heart of Appalachia for my first 17 years, I rescued a group of imperiled socioanthopologists from certain doom at the hands of some moonshiners in an undisclosed mossy holler of my homeland. Silly with gratitude, they taught me to read and eventually, to make letters with a pencil. I'm continuing that learning process by writing fan fiction here.
As you can see, I'm still having trouble with run-on sentences and cliches. Yet I've come so far.

Oh, and I love music - especially jazz.

Summary: Past Featured StoryThese are meaningless, short and simple ways for me to pass the time. Most of these have been sitting on the hard drive I've been cleaning out for the past couple of weeks (slowly but surely). Just pregnant Pam and baby fluff. They were all labeled "babytimes01.txt" on my computer, hence the name. Just vignettes, not necessarily chapters in order, and the rating is caution for later. Spoilers for the Delivery in the last chapter.

Hey, I reviewed this the other day but I put it under the wrong chapter (I'm an idiot) so I'm moving it now to Chapter 8.
Holy humina, batman. This is fantastic. My favorite one of these by far. Sweetly passionate, I think you capture insanely excited daddytobe Jim Halpert to the "t." I'll be reading this one a lot of times.

Author's Response: Ha, either way, thanks for the review! This was one of my favorite chapters as well.

I really liked this one - very intimate and sweet. I could picture this - lovely:

She finished some time later, and pushed her fingers through his hair as he dozed off. His head was full of thoughts of how this used to be them, kind of. One of the first dates they had, when he fell asleep in her lap for a few hours, and woke up to her still watching television at his apartment. He'd apologized, but she dismissed him as her fingers ran through his hair.

When he started and looked up through her fingers at her face, he apologized, "Sorry, I'm just exhausted lately."

She dismissed him, just like that time years ago, and he wondered if she remembered (because he remembered so many things about years ago).

Author's Response: Thanks jazzfan. =) Glad you liked.

Complete inelegance, but totally working. Pretty much the story of their lives. What a great summation - that is brilliant.

I'm behind on reading these, yanana, because of the evil like a hobbit hackers, but I read this chapter first (I'm gonna catch up backwards) and it is lovely and very true to life. (that Talkative piece you referenced is my favorite "first time" story)

Oh, this is my favorite of these three you've put up. (there will be more, right?) I'd give major bucks to see this scenario on the show. I had to mention this line: "She giggled, tongue stuck between her teeth." That is perfect Pam. I know exactly the face you're talking about. Nice job.

Author's Response: thanks for the review! =) wouldn't it be great if we could see moments like this on the show? maybe one day we'll get just one episode that won't be filmed by documentary cameras, although it might just not be the same. and there will definitely be more of these, too many more to come.

This may very well be the most adorable rendition of Jim Halpert that I've ever read here.

Author's Response: It's a disorder. It's getting to be so out of character, the degree of adorable I want Jim Halpert to be! Thanks for the review.

I can really see this scene playing out in my head and I loved how you let them be so slow and cautious and sideways about the subject. Well done.

Author's Response: As always, I love hearing from you in response to one of mine, since your stuff is so great. Thanks for taking the time. =)

I really liked Pam's ambivalence here - her confusion about what she wants, how she feels. Very ninth monthish. Also, Jim Halpert is a veritable saint in this one, don't you think? *grin*

I really liked the "undone" noodles as a lead in to Pam's doubts. Very organic and real. And I can defnitely see Jim being very upset at Pam ever doubting him. Sweet.

The part about the first child being perfect and them wondering how the second could ever been that magnificent really rang true. I remember wondering that before my second was born. But then, of course, the second one is just as perfect as the first. Sweet.

Summary: Jim and Pam fight and then make up. SPOILERS FOR THE LOVER!

This is so very sweet without being maudlin. You've picked the three month mark, which is a good choice because Jim and Pam seem to be comfortable and have the routine down by now, which is realistic. Nice attention to detail - loved the "olympic burp" - it's the kind of thing a proud papa would like. Well done.

Author's Response: Thank you so much!

Summary:

I do not own Jim or Pam nor any other being inhabiting the Dunder-Mifflin universe...damn!  No infringements or impingements of any kind are either inferred or implied.

Can incessant calls from their insensitive colleagues back home or a mysteriously cancelled credit card ruin what should be some of the happiest times of Jim and Pam’s new married life?  What might our newlyweds do to get the honeymoon back on track on this island paradise?  Will they find something to get the “sexy” going again in the stars, or maybe...in the waters of BioBay? Adult language and situations and mild spoilers for Mafia.

The thought of nonrisk taking Jim and Pam skinnydipping/making whoopie in the ocean made me smile big time. I especially loved this paragraph because it is just such a spot on Jim/guy thing to say - it really rang true for me:
"Now, standing at the curb, looking at his wife...God, it was still hard to believe...Pam was his wife...Jim felt a wave of desperation begin to envelop him as he tried to think of something he could do. He was the husband...he should do something."

Author's Response:

jazzfan...the idea that Jim has always seemed to believe that he needed to "do something", to take some kind of action or to somehow demonstrate his concern when it came to Pam and her happiness has always struck me as a sort of underlying, but constant theme...from the very beginning of their relationship.  Sort of a manifistation of the deepness of his feelings for her.   And, I think it would only be heightened with the newness of thier marriage and the impending birth of their child.  I'm glad it struck a chord with you...and I'm happy you ejoyed the story.

I very much enjoyed this. I'm usually not much for "flashbacks/dreams" but this was exceptionally well done and I was right back with desperate Jim and I got that tight, twisting feeling back in my stomach, and then I felt a huge sense of relief when he found himself back in the present. Awesome.

Author's Response: It's funny, 'cause I'm not into the dreamy idea, but when this idea came to me it was hard to not write it. For some strange reason, I really enjoyed writing a Jim who longs for Pam. I'm really glad that that the emotion that I wanted to convey in my head was on paper as well. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing.

Summary: A four-shot that begins pre-Pilot in The Office universe. Pam's journey to Jim did not traverse down a clear cut path but rather through a series of occurrences in which she came closer to knowing what she needed.

Although I think you've portrayed Roy perhaps a bit "worse" than he was, I very much enjoyed your acerbic, unhappy Pam. I'm very excited to see where you go with this. (I especially loved the paragraph where she describes her office workers - awesome!) Well done.

Author's Response: Haha, thanks! I enjoyed writing angry, confused Pam. I definitely think Roy had some redeeming qualities (I gave him a break at the end) but the view of him through Pam's frustrated perspective may have lead to a little distortion of his character. She'll learn to balance out her emotions:)

Summary: NBC.com was kind enough to give us the 12 Days of Office Christmas.  I just riffed a little on Jim and Pam's day, after a few little birdies requested (with puppies, and kitties, and Johns) that I do so.  Thanks, ladies!  You are masters of persuasion.

This was a sweet, home decorated Christmas cookie sort of story. Just what we needed for the holidays, thank you! I loved that they each think it's going to be the opposite sex, and this little exchange was marvelous. I could just hear Pam's voice saying it:
A firm nudge against the wall of her belly, drew her hand close to rub circles.

"I shouldn't have said that out loud...It's supposed to be a surprise."

Another nudge.

"I'm glad you like it though."

I also thought it was very realistic in that they both were so relieved about having a job, but they chose to experience that relief individually.

Author's Response: Yay!!! Glad you enjoyed Jazzy! You were such a driving force behind this...ahem. lol I'm happy you thought the thankful for a job element was realistic too, and not necessarily something they would share with each other.

Very well written, again, and I can truly hear your Andy delivering every one of his lines. This was letter perfect Andyspeak: “Because I want Pam to like me, dude!” Andy interjected vehemently as they rounded the display of gift sets, effectively drawing Jim’s attention. Off his concerned look, Andy bowed his head, and he frowned (pouted) at the set of Vanilla and Honey bath supplies. “It’s just that sometimes I think I kind of … get on her nerves or something? She gives me this look when we’re talking, like she’s envisioning something really, really bad or violent happening to me. It’s totally weird and kind of makes me uncomfortable, honestly.”

Author's Response: Haha, thank you for your great review! I love Andy so much, he's got to be tied with Jim and Pam as far as favorites go for me. I'm so glad I'm getting him right, as I think he may be one of the more difficult character (spare Michael and Dwight) to write for, but it's so much fun when I think of something and it does sound right. I'm so glad you're reading and enjoying. Thank you very, very much. :)

I really enjoyed this - Pam was written very convincingly and the end was very, very cute.

Author's Response: Pam, like Jim, seems like she'd be so easy to write for ... and then you start, and it's like, "Oh. Wait. She'd say that ... right?" But I'm glad it all worked out nicely, and I'm really happy with the ending, too. I like thinking about Pam pranking people on her own, without Jim's help, sometimes.

I love that you're exploring the inevitable tension that would be caused from the stress of this job situation - I so wish that the actual show would do this as well. Jim's need to put on a good front for Pam especially given her pregnancy/health concerns is very in character and Pam's reaction to that is spot on as well. She could always tell when something was bothering him. Can't wait until the next chapter.
