"It seems odd, in the ironic, slap-in-the-face kind of way that since her incident, it’s been easier to let him go."

Something bad happens to Pam. Very Dark.

Once I read the first chapter, I could not stop reading. It is a heartbreaking story. You've written the characters so well and I hope that after all is well with you we can see where Pam and Jim's journey ends.

I registered for the first time here just so I could leave a comment for this story. I'm naturally a lurker and I've read lots and lots of stories and this is the first one that has triggered something in me to actually leave a review. Just shows you how much I'm enjoying reading this story. It is really, really good. And this is coming from a person who was apprehensive on reading it at first because of how it started but little by little you won me over with your great writing and character development. I literally read this in one sitting.
Keep the great stories coming and I can't wait to see how this ends.
Vanessa

Author's Response: Oh, Nephelite... I love being the one to bring lurkers out of lurkdom! So much fun! I\'m always amazed that something I\'ve written could motivate someone to take the time to not only read it, but to leave a review. It is so, so very appreciated. BTW, I think EVERYONE was apprehensive about reading this one (as was I about writing it), so I\'m glad that it has eventually found a receptive audience. After watching the deleted Fun Run scene on the S4 DVD, I feel so darn guilty for breaking Jim and Pam up! Anyway, I truly appreciate your taking the time to read and comment, Vanessa. I don\'t think the average reader realizes how much it means to us writers. Hope you enjoy the rest of the story!

I have a gut feeling that Pam is not there to rekindle the romance. And surprisingly I think I prefer it that way. Wendolf, you did the unthikable.... you have made me like Jim and Emily more than Jim and Pam.... at least for this story. ;) I am still a diehard JAM fan. Can't wait to read the final one.

Author's Response: Gee, thanks Nephelite! I\'m glad I was able to make Jim and Emily believeable, at least. We all still love Jim and Pam, though... Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Summary: An alternate universe that sees Pam turning over a new leaf at a private art school in Chicago, Ill. In this world, Dunder Mifflin doesn't exist, although a few of its characters are guaranteed to pop up here and there. On her first day, Pam meets Jim, a cute, affable, and somewhat geeky Journalism major who introduces her to indie rock, old movies, pop culture and a whole new world.

I haven't finished the story but I just had to leave a review after reading this chapter. I love that you included a poem by Pablo Neruda. I just recently discovered his writing and I'm hooked. If you think that Sonnett XVII is good, the original version in Spanish is amazing. There's just something that I can't explain that gets lost in the translation. But great job not only with story, which I'm loving, but with also choosing such a great poem that really works well in the story.

Author's Response: Ah, Pablo Neruda\'s poem. So lovely, and I\'m glad that you enjoyed it\'s little part in this story. I\'m glad that you\'re enjoying \"Indie Rock\" so far. Sooo much fun to write. Thank you so much for the review!
