I saved this up so I could binge it at once because I knew there’d be some angst! I love the angst, don’t get me wrong, but I love it best when I can read it without stopping, haha. This was such a great and believable premise and I loved seeing how everyone bid! And GIRL the PAYOFF at the end you DELIVERED that rating! Excellent job, I really enjoyed it!

Author's Response: Wow! Thanks so much! So glad you enjoyed this fic, and that the ending was satisfying for you (as well as for Jim and Pam, lol). I really appreciate this awesome review!

Jenna. I’m so sorry. I know this particular ache very well, and there aren’t any good words to make it better. And the range of how we handle it or process it is so wide and different...I got really angry and made a long string of really bad decisions, for example. It feels weird to say that this is beautiful and sad and a tribute to what could have been, but that’s how it felt to me reading it. I hope that it helped you. I love you, you’re talented and amazing and it helped me to read this and remember again that I’m not alone, and neither are you.

Author's Response: It’s so devastating to learn what a shared experience this is. It makes me feel less alone, but it breaks my heart all the same because I wouldn’t wish this strange grief on anyone. I’m so glad we’re here at the same time & I get to know you through these characters we adore.

Oh my godddd this was so heartbreaking and then so tense and then at the end I literally screeched a bit and scared my dogs because I honestly didn’t expect her to say that! I loved it. You’re amazing. If you wrote a bajillion of these I wouldn’t be mad.

Oh my god. You should write a paper airplanes one.

Author's Response: Thanks BT!

Sorry, not sorry for scaring your dogs?
I think I will leave the Paper Airplanes up to you and continue living my best life in Season 2/3. Season 9 messes me up waaay too much...

Okay assertive Pam! I was so proud of her for leaving Roy and going after what she really wanted and getting answers to questions and just asking them in the first place!

AND THEN YOU RIPPED THE RUG FROM UNDER MY FEET with that convo in the car!! How dare you. That broke my heart! Such perfect angst, made worse by what happened the night before. You minx.

Author's Response: It's just not JAM without putting little bit them through a bit of hell XD Thanks for reading BT, hopefully the 2nd chapter makes up for the rug ripping!

Ugh I just hate Roy. I can totally see him nonchalantly burning down their house and absolutely not taking responsibility for it. You wrote all the little elements of tension so well! They made my heart race. There were so many good parts in this chapter but I really loved this line.

“The planets and her chakras might be in the right place, but the reality of her world was in the ring on her finger and the small rental house she shared with Roy. ”

Author's Response: Thank you! It's always great when someone has an emotional response (especially if it's a positive one, lol). Thanks for telling me the line you liked. That's so rewarding :). Chapter 7 is up now.  Hope to see you back here soon.

Omg my heart jumped into my throat! I can’t wait to see what happens.

Also I wanted to say I thought it was very realistic to have Jim get annoyed and lose his patience with her a little. Taking care of someone drunk, even if you’re head over heels, is never fun. Add that to the already heightened level of frustration he is dealing with and it paints an accurate picture of a relationship. Great job!

Author's Response: Thank you! A great compliment is that I was able to keep things realistic in this silly world of The Office. I really appreciate your encouragement. The next chapter is up now--I'd love to hear what you think.

I was on pins and needles almost this whole chapter, waiting waiting waiting for the confrontation that I just knew was going to happen. And then you distracted me in such a lovely way with the steamy shower scene, and I kind of let my guard down and then 😱!!!

This story is so good. I can’t wait to read the aftermath of this fight!

Author's Response: Thank you! Glad my devious distraction of wet Jim could pull you in. I hope you enjoy what's next.

What a wonderful resolution! I somehow missed getting to read chapter 9 when it updated so that was a real treat. The story wrapped up really beautifully. I loved the moment when Pam and Betsy talked, as well as how Jim and Pam played it so low key that nobody even remembered they were together. I like the idea of their love being a secret but not secret. Big, true love doesn’t always have to be paraded around and that’s what that felt like to me. It was enough for the two of them to have it, and the rest of the office didn’t need to be a part of it. I wish more of that had happened in the show, but then we wouldn’t have the wealth of material we have to work off of. Anyway, I got away from myself—another wonderful piece of writing, Donna! Can’t wait for your next!

Author's Response: Thank you! And I feel like I should give you an award or something for being my 100th review--first time I cracked a hundred on this site! Here's a virtual hug for you :) So glad you enjoyed this fic, and how it ended. I really appreciate your kind words.

I mean. This is a work of art. Every phrase paints a picture so beautifully, and you don’t have to rely on a huge word count or wordiness or anything else, you just put words together in this gorgeous and really unique way that just makes my heart ache and sing at the same time. Ugh. Again, how does it feel to be a murderer?

“The tendency towards retaliation wasn’t a personality trait she was necessarily proud“

Listen, I LOVE THIS. Pam gets romanticized so often but she has real flaws and this is absolutely one of them. I love that you included this because it gives depth to her character that we don’t see often. Her pranks and jokes get written off as silliness I think but she absolutely wants to get even in her own way, and you wove that in expertly. And then just that heartbreaking parking lot scene, murder me right now.

So so good, lady. I loved it. Will you write literally every episode? Thank youuuu

Author's Response: I agree with you, I'm here for the real flaws. Neither of them are perfect and I love bringing that out on occasion. I *plan* on touching just about every episode, but you know what they say about plans. ;) Thank you!

Author's Response:

Thanks!

TBH I'm still trying to make up my mind on how involved Jim is going to get. Next chapter is not cooperating :)
