Summary: Past Featured Story

This picks up pre-merger and is spoiler free, a bit AU as well.  I began this back in October (maybe even September), and obviously the show has deviated quite a bit from what I speculated here.

This begins with angst, but there is a great deal of fluff, steam, smut, and silly...for several, several chapters.  My idea was to go beyond the happy ending, so to speak.

If someone could package Jim in this chapter into a pill that all men could take and then become Jim, it would sell better than fucking Viagra. Christ.

I don't know what it was about this story, but it had this beautiful build up that literally had me tearing up the whole story then finally actually crying a little at the end. Amazing.

Now that made me smile. And really, who could ask for more? Pam totally took the number two most romantic "chick holiday" as it is sometimes referred, and totally OWNED IT. Despite these two being in somewhat of a static position on the show, I still love seeing things like this. It also made me think that it could be possible to show something like this on the show - not the hot sex, obviously - but Pam and Jim disappearing.

it’s like a tornado just passed and everyone’s coming out of their houses to peer up at the blue specks of sky peeking through the clouds.

Absolutely loved that. I'm not sure why, but it just totally and utterly fit the moment so perfectly. You made it sound beautiful, despite things being a disaster before.

Author's Response: Aw, I'm so glad you enjoyed the story!  That line is turned out to be the fan-favorite, too.  Thanks so much for the comment!

That. Just made me aw. I'm a huge fan of Ryan and Kelly stories and this one I think might just take the top spot of ones I read. You totally hit Ryan on the head, him trying to make excuses for his sweet behavior, but really, he was sincere. So great. Another please? lol

"And then I am going to steal him away from that crazy bitch."

Bah! That literally made me laugh out loud. I really, seriously hope that Karen turns psycho. Cause it'll be the only funny thing to get me through these sweeps. Great story!

And I'm now off to watch Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and cry a few tears and get a somewhat happy ending. Cause that, caused me some sadness. And I mean that in the greatest way possible. Awesome story, that hopefully ends not so bittersweet as these 2 chapters.

Wow. I feel like I haven't read a fic in a very long time that could easily have been on the show. The beginning of the break room scene, with Kelly, seriously could have happened. Great stuff here. While I love fluff and what not, it was nice to see a sort of symbolic ending and beginning for them, without being too over the top.

Author's Response: What a wonderful compliment! I really tried to keep things realistic and in character, and to keep it from becoming shmaltzy, so thank you!
