Wow! I did not see Roy coming back into the office like that! And thank god for Dwight's pepper spray! I love sarcastic Jim and the blow up doll, and I love how you worked these two instances, the Negotiation and Sexual Harassment scenes into this so perfectly. Pam talking so strongly to Roy and not faltering was just perfect for her, I know I keep saying this, but I love how strong she is. I have to laugh at how dolt like Roy is, I can really see him acting this way, trying to win her back like that. I definitely can't wait for the next update! I can't believe there's only one chapter left! I hope you have something else planned when you're done with this one.

No apologies necessary! I'm glad you were able to update this! =)

Author's Response: Thank you for all of your wonderful reviews and your constant support of this story!

*stands and applauds* This entire story was so, so great! I have loved your incorporation of the events on the show into the events that you created, and this last chapter (sniff, sniff!) was no different. I was grinning like a loon at the end when the camera crew outed them. I thought your incorporation of Jim's BBQ was great too, I could see that snippet happen (and totally wish it DID happen on the show that way). This was a great story, thank you so much for writing it for us! I love the way you write, you have a great way of describing things so clearly that I can envision it all in my head and hear the characters speaking. I'm hoping that new idea you have comes to life and we all see it here soon! :-)

Author's Response: Aww, thanks for the standing ovation! I've said it before, but I'll say it again, thank you for your continued support of this story. I find my best chapters are the one's with elements from the show worked in so I'm glad you liked that, too. I'm starting to pre-write my next idea to see if I have enough to make it work.

Ah! Thanks for posting so quick! You rock! I love their honesty here, that they can actually be upfront and say "I want to be with you" is just perfect. I love that even though he was upset about her letting Roy stay, he didn't over-react to the news and held her calmly as she teared. I love the part that he found her loyalty to her family adorable. I'm looking forward to the date, and how the two of them handle Roy as he tries to get his life together. I'll be refreshing the site on my phone this weekend looking for another update! :-)

Author's Response: As always, thank you for your lengthy review, it means a lot! I had toyed with the idea of Jim being really upset about Roy staying there, but it just didn't come out right. I just added chapter 9, make sure you check it out, and chapter 10 (AKA The Date) should be up tonight (Sunday).

Aw! A dedication! You're so sweet! I'm so thrilled you were able to update, thanks for this so so much! I'm really proud of this confident Pam we have here! I'm a little worried at how Jim will take the news that she's letting Roy stay for two weeks. The thing I love the most is how smitten Pam is with Jim, that in her quiet to herself moments before and after dealing with Roy, she's thinking about kissing Jim. I hope you've got the next chapter ready to go today! Looking forward to reading more!

Author's Response: Thank you for your review, as always, and for your continued support of the story. I like how my AU version of Pam became fancy and new on her own, before Jim was in her life.

Woohoo! A kiss from Pam! I like when Pam is a little assertive, and I love how dumbfounded Jim is by the whole thing too. Nice way to work in Fancy New Beesly too. Can't wait for more, and I'm excited to see assertive Pam handle annoying drunken clingy Roy. :)

Author's Response: Thank you. You always give such great reviews. I know my AU Pam is different from season 2 Pam, but I figure my Pam is more coinfident than season 2 Pam as she was able to leave Roy without the push from Jim. However, I think there is still the possibility for season 2 Pam to pop up here and there.

Also, hope your headaches go away! Feel better soon!

Author's Response: Thanks! The migraines have stopped for now, haven't had one in about 2 weeks, so knock on wood.

That boy jumping out of the shed sounds terrifying and horrible! You poor thing (and poor Pam too!) Their date was lovely! Their blushing and his leaning over and kissing her, so adorable. Perfectly them. I really loved it so much, their simplicity and that they can talk all through dinner and still have more things to say. I really love Jim wanting to take things slow and not being 'that guy' and instead taking her home. I also adore the little Diversity Day moment, and that Pam's mom is coming to visit at the office! I can't wait to see what happens when they meet! More please.

Author's Response: Thanks for the review. I think you've reviewed every chapter and that means a lot! That boy jumping out of the shed was the worst! Why do you think I still remember it 24 years later and I still remember his name (it really was Robert, as it was in the story.) The next chapter is up, so make sure you check it out!

Love how strong Pam was with Roy and I like the way she realized his gesture with the dinner was just a momentary thing and he would just revert back to the way he used to be if they got back together. I love that she reassured Jim that she wanted to let Roy down easily and that she did want to go on their date. I also got a good laugh out of Jim's dad telling him that if he ever honked his horn for his date to come to the car, he wouldn't be let out of the house till he was 30. I broke up with a guy once for doing that to me - he honked his horn in the driveway, and it was pouring rain too. I swear some men are just pigs. But not our Jim! Anyways, I'm off to click that beautiful "next" button!

Author's Response: Thanks for the review. I'm glad you are enjoying the story. And, haha about the horn honking, my parents were the same way. Fortunately, none of my dates never did that!

Aw! Love this and I can't wait to read the rest of it! I love that he instantly said forget about quitting within minutes of meeting her. Great set up! I'm happy to have another WIP to follow :-)

Ooh this is great, keep it going! I really appreciate that you made Roy her ex fiance. I can hear the tone in his voice, the despair at her saying he's a great friend. Poor Jim! I can't wait to see where you take this.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for reviewing! Yes, poor Jim. I think he needs a hug!

Aw, I was hoping that Jim would get to ask her out, but I guess you're not going to make this easy on us lol I like this a lot and I'm looking forward to your version of the Dundies now that Pam's broken up with Roy. I really can feel the tension from Jim as I'm reading. I like that you're able to still keep a good level of angst even though Roy and Pam aren't together, you still have Pam fighting against herself and trying to move on from that oaf. Anyways, hope you have more for us soon!

Author's Response: Thank you for your kind review. Next chapter should be up shortly!

Nicely done, incorporating what happened at the Dundies into this AU! You really made it your own, I like that a lot! Needy Roy is worrying me. He still has the power over Pam to make her doubt herself and feel bad about herself, poor girl! I like how she's mildly aware that she likes Jim and questions if he liked that she kissed him after winning her award. Keeping the cameras there at the end really was a good choice, and I like the insight you gave in that small part of what she was contemplating asking Jim. I especially like the end, that she was watching him as she rode home in Angela's car, reminded me of the end of the episode and Tiny Dancer, which will always be my favorite song, and Dundies will always be my favorite episode. (Not that I don't adore married with a baby Jim and Pam, but nothing beats those early episodes.) I'm really enjoying this and can't wait to read the next chapter!

Author's Response: Thanks for the great review. I was worried about going AU on such a favorite episode so I tried to keep alot of the storyline intact. I always felt that Pam would not have gotten completely wasted, and then kissed Jim, if it hadn't been for her fighting with Roy, so I had to find a way to keep that in. Needy!Roy, worries me, too, and I'm the one writing him! I always felt that Roy was needy, we just didn't see it. My main point of reference for this was him not letting Pam take the internship in season 2, because despite his macho demeanor, he's secretly super needy.

Things were going so well! Damnit Roy and your timing! I'm so happy that you're continuing this! I love the bantering between them, it sounds so very Jim and Pam like. Now I need to know what Roy could possibly want that he needs to interrupt Pam and Jim right that second. I love the detail you added - that her neighbor that Pam's TV is too loud. I'm really enjoying this! Hope real life calms down for you and you can get back to quick updates! :)

Author's Response: So sorry it took me so long to respond, but thanks for your awesome review!

Great collaboration, ladies :) I like their back and forth, and thought it was different for them to be so bold at work with the blouse unbuttoning and the ice pop. The F word threw me just a bit but all in all I thought this was really good. Hope you'll do more writing together in the future!

I'm never sure how to comment on smut stories, but I will say, these two chapters were hot, no doubt. But the last bit of this second chapter is the best part IMHO - France? That’s easy. You’re also going to marry her someday, make her the mother of your children someday, spend the rest of your lives together someday. You inhale the coconut scent of her shampoo and exhale, content. I like how you phrased it with the repetitive someday.

Author's Response: Thanks! I know, the saucy chapters are a wee bit awky to comment on, but I'm glad you did :)

So so many things I love about this chapter! Where to begin? The love that he has for his children and his wife just jumps off the screen throughout, especially when he's talking to Bill. I love how you incorporated that into this, and I love how Jim is able to tell it like it is to him in a way that's both calm and mature. I love that Jim can't even imagine what it's like to be in Bill's shoes and yet he won't judge. I love your Cece, she's so cute with her eyes not closing all the way. Kids say the most adorable things and you totally nailed it there. You've managed to make her exactly like both Jim and Pam. I'm really sad that there's one more chapter left, I was hoping you'd continue this longer, but I'm so glad everything with Ben is a-okay, and I can't wait to read your next story. :-)

This entire chapter is beautifully done, so much emotion just jumping out at me. His happiness that Ben is doing better, his reflection at their wedding anniversary, all a think of beauty. I love that he's calling his son a heavy weight champ, it's just so sweet and perfect. The love he has for the three of them just comes through so much and I'm so happy that things are getting better for this little family!

I did read the spoiler, and I'm really happy about it! Maybe because I've been watching a lot of season 3 lately, but the spoiler is a good thing, in my opinion. :-)

Hope you have more of this story soon!

Dedeen, you've just... this is beautiful. I am all teary eyed and smiling here. It was so great hearing Pam's perspective in this chapter. And pickles! I totally forgot about pickles! I love it. I really love this look into things from her side, how happy she is with Jim and how much she sees he loves his family. I'm so happy that little Ben is okay and crawling around the house, and that Cece became adjusted to everything. You've described this little family exactly the way I see them, and this story has been such a wonderful journey to read through. I hope you have something new in the works for us soon! Thank you for this, it was utterly beautiful. :) And your end note is so sweet, you're very welcome :)

wow... I'm utterly speechless right now. This is so heartbreaking! It must be taking a toll on you to write this. I can't even imagine what it would be like to be in their situation. This chapter blew me away, especially this part --

Our conversation didn’t go beyond that. The silence that reigned afterward was comforting. We are good at silence. I think we speak better when our conversations are devoid of words. I understand her more from the way her eyes lingered on me than I ever could from words she strung in sentences

That's them, in a nutshell, and so poetically put. I'm going to go dry my eyes now.

I'm so sorry it took me forever to read this latest chapter! Work was insane last week and the weekend was busy, so I'm just having a chance to log on now. Poor Ben! I really hope he makes it through this! My heart is aching for them! I'm glad someone was kind enough to share their experience with Jim and Pam, and I hope they reconnect with each other beyond just talking about Cece and Ben. I can feel his frustration jumping off the page, he loves his family so much and just wants everything back to normal. I can't wait for the next chapter!! :-)

Holy moses! Are you trying to kill me? You can't leave this as a one shot NOW! I absolutely need to know how things progress for Pam, so you better keep going. The run-on talking from Cece was really great, I like how you've written it as she would have spoken it, I can hear it in my head (probably something I should consider doing for my own story where I'm writing Cece dialogue.) You need to continue this, and I know from your previous stories that I'll end up sniffling and wiping away tears at some point or another during this one too like I did with the Jim's brain tumor story and Pam's memory loss story. Keep going!

Author's Response: Reading your review mada me think about all the 'oh so sad stories' I've posted on this website. Geez... What's wrong with me? I'm a very happy person... I promise! Let's see how this one plays out... Thank you so much for reviewing and go ahead and use run-on sentences for little kids... I swear that's how I hear it in my head when they talk! Thanks once again!

Hi! I'm so sorry I missed this when it was originally posted. Between work and trying to get back to my own story, I have been MIA around these parts for almost 2 weeks. Anyways, first, I love the name Benjamin James. Poor little Cece she's just trying to have fun with her mom and she gets yelled at. I can totally see it all happening, the defeated look on his face as his heart breaks when his daughter cries for Pam. Poor kid! Very believable by the way. Every kid gets jealous of a new baby, this was really spot on accurate. I love his life is good slogan, how he can find that part of optimism amid all of the negativity with Pam's health is very Jim like, even though he's super concerned. Moving along to the next chapter...

Wow, that was definitely a close call! I love your battle ax reference, it made me chuckle a bit. I love and adore your Cece so much, she's the sweetest kid and loves her momma so much. I really can feel Jim's nervousness jumping up off the page at me, and I'm really very much looking forward to the rest of this story. You have Jim's voice so spot on. *high five*

You made me cry with all of his questions at the end. :( Poor Cece. I love how they actually take their child's sadness seriously and don't brush it off. They're such good parents. I love this. More please!

Author's Response: I hope it was a good cry! This is a situation that is hard on everyone, specially Cece - who doesn't understand why mom and dad are always away. I wanted to touch on that subject and I hope I did it justice. Thanks for the reviews and I'm anxiously waiting for an update on Fault lines... Yup, I said it! So, go back to work lady!

Happy Birthday, Ben!! Enlightened Jim here at the end of this, where he realizes what matters in his life, it's not only poignant, but I can completely hear him saying it. This is yet again a wonderful chapter, I truly love the adoration they both have for their children. The big sister t-shirt is so cute, and I think it's adorable that Cece tells anyone and everyone that she's a big sister. So sweet! I'm hoping that things are going to get better from here and Ben will grow stronger. Looking forward to lots more of this!!
