No one's ever had a crush on her as far as she knows. Roy, maybe, but that was so long ago it doesn't feel like it even counts.1 I'm a fan of any fic with surprise kisses laid on Jim by Pam, but this does a great job, I think, of treating how they would act at that particular moment in the universe. So yay.

1 I'm definitely enjoying this. I'd agree with Becauseofyou that the pacing here suggests a longish story word-wise so an outline would be a good idea. I'm intrigued by how actually meeting her parents will go--what do they think of Roy? Of him? Of her?
And is your Pam an "I need time" Pam or an "I've had time" Pam when the chips are down?

I'll definitely get to work on an outline. This is my first time writing fanfiction and so there's a bit of a learning curve.
I'll think about how Pam's parents think of Roy/Jim and maybe revisit a real meeting between Jim and her parents.
I think my Pam might be a nice mix of the "I need time" Pam and the "I've had time" Pam, but we'll see. Thanks again, and stay tuned! :)

Pam decides to write angry letters without sending them. Or, well, the modern equivalent thereof. A fun little romp of a story!
AU: Canon divergence. Pam doesn't get back together with Roy in season 3. She leaves the wedding when he asks her to dance. They are not together for her art show. They don't go to Poor Richard's, she doesn't tell him about the kiss with Jim, and he never tries to attack Jim in the office.
1 Hey Sadiq. This moment is particularly well done in both believability and Office-type unintended consequences.
1 I have been reading this (technically re-reading) and not reviewing because I had a common comment: these are all great. I just wanted to stop in here and say that the transition among epistolary and non-epistolary chapters is very, very well done.
Pam calls off her wedding. Roy loses it. Jim's in Stamford, but not for long.
A hospital stay and the recovery afterward, almost entirely from Jim's POV. Earnest and fluffy and sweet, with a side of steam for dessert. Tons of inner monologue, lots of dialogue, dramatic with plenty of humor sprinkled throughout.

1 I feel bad for the fact that I read these all at once and don't typically review every chapter...but I love this chapter in particular because of the Jim/Helene interaction.
1 I really loved the start of this story and it's versions of both Pam and Jim. I did spend several chapters worrying if you'd bring in a Roy equivalent. I love what you did with Toby. But overall I just...really enjoyed this. Fast-paced and a delightful example of the college-Jim-and-Pam genre.

1 This is really great, both the imagining of the world and of their relationship (I think this is the bravest Pam I've ever read on this site). I would whole-heartedly read a sequel or continuation. Great if terrifying AU.

I really appreciate you reading, and your words! It's been fun to play with world-building a little more. They say (whoever "they" are) to write what you know, and it's been such a challenge for me to get inside the head of a passive woman who's afraid to go after what she wants, because IRL I am nothing like that and don't know any women like that. I just hope the growth feels sufficiently organic!

An unexpected threat surfaces, testing Jim and Pam's deepening bond in ways neither could have anticipated.
The sequel to Freedom First. Intrigue, drama, sprinkled with fluff, smutty in all the right places (and a few of the wrong ones).

**This story picks up a couple of weeks after Freedom First ends. If you haven't read that story, this one may not make sense.
1 I finally got around to reading this (I do most of my reading at work, so the NC-17 nature of this one meant I didn't have a good opportunity until now). It's a great continuation, and I really enjoyed the development of their relationship. Also I hate Will. But that might just be me.
