1 Oh wow. So many things to say here. I’ll try to keep it simple. I absolutely loved how the fight didn’t actually resolve much, and that you showed how Pam was still on the fence. That they had to break down in therapy. It’s so real, especially in this situation. No cotton candy and rainbows and instant fixes. Loved that! Oh, and your payoff was well worth it ;) Excellent read!
Author's Response: Thank you so much! I’m glad it reads as realistic. It was a lot harder for me to write than I anticipated, because I wanted so much to just wrap it all up nicely at the end of the fight, but that’s obviously not how marriages and arguments work. Author's Response: Who doesn’t love a Jim diary? Personally, I have a habit of trying to capture moments that mean a lot to me, so judging from the mental pictures in Niagra, I figured maybe Pam does too :)
NOW COMPLETE! Jim gets in an accident on June 10, and Pam gets to help. Only AU in that it deviates from main timeline between S2 and S3 (no different worldbuilding premise).

Again, the little allusions to such small details of the show, with the Blue Angels. I love that it was meant to be from their “first date” and you make that obvious that the first date was indeed on the roof.

I'm glad you picked up on the first date thing, granted I wasn't being very subtle about it. I may be spoiling things a bit, but eventually I see that Jim and Pam decide that, yes that night on the roof was their first date. It might take them awhile to come to that conclusion, but eventually they get there.
Yes, so close yet so far. It's like a challenge I set myself now. How close can I get them to figuring out they've met before, but not quite get there. Don't worry, I have something truly epic planned for the eventual reveal, I just crave your patience for a while yet.
Oh boy. You know I love a good IM chat, and what’s better is that this was a drunken IM chat. Love it. And Jim’s “Head in the Clouds” Dundee. Very apropos. What I love the most about this story is the way that you pick these teeny little things from the show and give them background, like the butterfly necklace or the nickel prank. Yay!
Author's Response: Thanks. I've kind of run out of backstory for the characters, so now it's onto the backstory for some of the things that are in the show. Why would a character hold onto that particular thing? What was the inspiration for that prank and so on. Glad you liked it so much.
Oh man. You posted the previous chapter while we were on the road last weekend, so I didn't get to tell you how much I loved it. Despite the fact that it was so much less Jim and Pam, I was hooked instantly. Your knowledge of the field gave such an interesting and elegant perspective. I loved every second of it, same with this chapter. Also, this was such a welcomed curveball! Out of everything I expected to happen, Jim ending up in the hospital like this was nowhere near the top of my list. I can't wait to see what you do with this! Crossing my fingers for a little ER bedside heart to heart.

1 I'm glad that you didn't do all 18 holes (twss), but that you chose to highlight the little moments here between Jim and Pam. Having him double check that she didn't mind the nickname, sharing about their parents, the ice pack--all the makings of a friendship that that they need as that foundation. Don't think I didn't catch that "almost Morgan" in there ;) You're doing a great job with this!

They clearly know each other very well by the time the cameras show up so it made sense to show just how that kind of thing builds and why even though Pam, being engaged, is so comfortable with Jim. So lots of fun in that regard. And you stumbled onto my secret, the almost finding out thing. We'll have to play with that some more won't we?

The breakup with Jess was super realistic, and I'm glad that Jim can grow and learn from it (and hopefully run into our favorite receptionist when he starts his new big boy job).

Also, that cliff hanger! Ugh! Can’t wait to see their reactions to one another—will they remember right away? Will he see the sketch? Ahh!
Author's Response: Yeah, you probably get the reason behind the chapter title from Pam's speech on the beach. I wanted to explore some of those reasons she said she didn't care about. I do feel a little bad for dumping on Pam for two chapters though. Things will start looking up from here though.

A Quiet Place crossover. Gory, action-packed, dark, irreverent, and relatively hilarious (all things considered). This fic is primarily JAM-focused, but also prominently features some traditionally-underutilized secondary characters.
Takes place around the start of season 4. Just before Fun Run would have happened, if the world hadn't ended.

I will make a note of it! I am aiming for JAM to eventually leave the bunker, at which point the focus of the story would shift significantly.
If it isn't excessively unseemly (who am I kidding? of course it is), I will admit to being a bit burned out on writing vanilla hetero sex. I've been reading a ton of M/M fiction lately, so the threesome stuff was more fun to write.
1 I know this is supposed to be all hot and steamy and “they literally just screwed in front of a mirror,” but like, Pam getting excited that Jim used her key had me cryin’.
Also, where can *I* get a pocket sized Jim-who-strips-as-soon-as-he-walks-in-my-house because, necessary~
The little “can I?” killed me. Literally trying to convince his girlfriend to watch them have sex in the bedroom mirror, but also being polite. Ugh. I love good boyfriend Jim.
And the actually “doin’ it in front of a mirror” was fantastic. Oh my god. You go, girl. I love how Pam flipped on a dime at the end. Like, damn. You do realize that you TOTALLY left it open for more at the end, right? 😉
