Oh man. This is just heartbreaking. Jim is going to want to shoot himself when he realizes what she wanted to tell him that day he blew her off. Boy oh boy this is tough. I'm interested though - so keep it up!
Certainly different from any other JAM story I've read. Interested to see where you take it!
Athena this story is so freaking good. I think the way you've characterized Jim here is just fantastic. I can totally see him being pissed at himself for crying and not being 'a man', but at the same time inevitably giving in to it. Also, the pictures on Pam's walls...oh jeez - the fact that she wasn't in any of them. That was just so unbelievably brilliant. I know this must be extremely difficult to write, but I implore you not to leave us hanging on this one. Such good work.
I HEART THIS STORY! What a great piece. I think the best thing about it was that neither of them really knew how to handle this moment. Pam had all this stuff floating around from how Roy had handled it and Jim just really wanted to be there for Pam, but they were just so confused as well. I just loved this. Not to mention Jim being so freaking dreamy with the fake Australia!!!

I think the thing about The Office is that the show is meant to be realistic, and there's no reason why fanfiction shouldn't be, too. I've read a couple of Jam pregnancy stories in which the two of them get together, get engaged a week later, and get pregnant a month after that like it's the "happily ever after" trifecta, and they just always leave me scratching my head, because really, if that actually happened, who would be happy? Who wouldn't be freaked out beyond belief?
THAT was sheer poetry. So, so beautiful.

THIS....It just might be my favorite thing EVER. I am SO tired right now, but SO glad I read this before going to bed. Every sentence is just so well crafted and woven together to just paint this achingly beautiful story. The picture they made just sitting on those swings...I mean WOW, that's like a scene from a movie...I can see that on the bigscreen...funeral black on swings...there's just something so ironic and poignant and beautiful about that. You should be so proud of this story and this chapter in particular.
This was so infinitely beautiful I can't even tell you. I just cried. I don't think I've ever actually cried over another story on this site...and just tears over how BEAUTIFUL it was. The most beautiful love scene I've ever read bar none. Thank you so very much for this wonderful wonderful read. You are so talented.

Ok, I'm just getting caught up on this story again and it's as good - if not better - than I remembered it. This chapter was just so, so beautifully poignant. Now THIS was definitely a "journey" for Pam. The show called there's that...but I don't know - I like this one better. :-) Very good stuff. Moving on to the next chapter! Will be sad to see this one end.

WOW. I do not think anyone has ever fully captured why Pam might be the way that she is and I just have to say that the world you've created her is completely and totally possible. The paradox of her father having had little to do with who she became and yet EVERYTHING to do with who she became is just brilliant. It makes complete sense why she would have ended up with someone like Roy and how it has been almost impossible for her to accept someone like Jim who want to convince her that it DOES matter what she feels. Again I say WOW. This is genius.

I actually re-wrote this chapter today and took it in a completely different direction because it has been pointed out to me that Pam's relationship with her father was in reality not anything like what I wrote. However I was reluctant to post the change because I was so attatched to the chapter that I already had and the choices I had made. I've decided to keep what I have. Thanks so much for reviewing ;-)

Oh man, you wrote this part about Pam feeling like every word that was coming out of her mouth was very meaningful (I'm not sure that's the word you used, but for some reason this thing isn't allowing me to cut and paste. lol) and that she wasn't used to that. Man, I hope this becomes a trend for her in this story! Now that Jim has realized he's still completley in love with her, it'd be so great for this trip to end up being about more than tragedy. Thanks so much for such an engaging, poignant story!
