Three little facts about me:

1) I'm a work-from-home mom from Kyiv, Ukraine.

2) I'm super late to the party, but  I do my best to turn my excitement with the show into the content (hopefully, qualitative).

3) I care about Pam Beesly more than about any other fictional character in all the existent fandoms.

And make me wonder about the washing machine experience :)

Awww, I love this! It's cute and sweet and, to be honest, I ADORE the way it ends :) A couple of times, I had to Google some characters (my knowledge of Christmas movies is regrettably meager), but when I saw what costume you chose for whom — excellent!
Thank you so much for your story :)

Author's Response: I’m so so glad you liked it! I threw in a lot of references in there, so I’m sorry you had to search for some of them. Haha and thank you!!

I... wow... it's just... wow...
I'm a little overwhelmed at this moment, so I can't quite form an appropriate review. I hope you'll understand.
"I don't know but it feels right."
This line is so tiny and simple, but it hit me with the force of a heavily loaded truck. I love these moments so much!
And I don't know how you are doing that, but please, don't stop. And thank you!

Author's Response: I always understand and I always enjoy your emotional reviews! They bring me so much joy. Thank you SO much!

"she kinda loves that he’s defending the little things in their little world" - I love that too. Love it so, so much!
"The star of a romantic comedy formerly known as her and her husband’s life." I'm an introverted person (sometimes extremely), and this part hurts almost physically.
Have to put my reading on pause because the whole thing of exposing something private to everyone is a little too much.
Continue.
Okay, now I'm crying over the part about the toughest times and 'the guy in the expensive suit walking away from her wasn’t always someone she wanted to beg to stay' and 'she wasn’t going to let him go without a fight' and especially 'that history doesn’t feel like it fully belongs to her anymore.'
Continue.
And now I'm crying because of the surprise and 'stocking stuffers,' and that's so, so, so soft and cute and... perfect.
That's fine. I'm fine. Everything is gonna be fine.
Thank you so much for writing it! And Happy New Year!

Author's Response: I know what you mean – and Pam being very much an introvert in my eyes and already having drained her emotional defenses? I feel like this would’ve just been such a burden on her, and especially since she doesn’t know until the very end just how much they’ve caught on camera and just how much they’ve focused on her. Awful for anyone, but this is capital-N Not the life a Pam-type wants for herself. I am very sorry I made you cry, but I’m glad the second set of tears were happy tears? Thank you for reading it, and for taking the time to review! Happy New Year to you! I’m kinda jealous you’re so much closer to being done with 2020 than I am.

Oh, Jenna, I'm so sorry that you had that terrible time (and, for sure, having them affects creativity badly...). I hope that you feel better now, and I can't even start to describe how excited I am to see your new story!
It was touching that Dwight noticed these horrible things in Pam, and Michael is so eager to help her. It's nice that they have so much empathy...
'She was missing a lot these days.' Poor Pam, it feels so real, and pains so much...
Have no idea what 'She’s All That' is about, but I want to find out!
'She wasn’t tearing up every time there was some reminder of him at work anymore. That was progress, right?' My heart. Yes, dear, keep going.
'she was twice as miserable as she had been.' I want to hug her badly.
'Death was seeming like the best option.' I hate that she had these thoughts... but it's so believable to have them in her state...
I love the way you write Pam-Michael's dynamic! It's so heartwarming, and even in the worst situations looks cute.
I can't wait to read more!
And Happy New Year! May the year 2021 bring you more joy, happiness, and things you want/need than the passing one :)

Author's Response: Happy New Year to you too Dernhelm!

Your reviews always bring me joy. Thank you for taking the time to leave such considered and kind words. You are so very lovely.

It's 8:40 a.m., and I have my cup of coffee and the new chapter of your story. Pretty awesome beginning of the year!
'Hi,' 'Hey.' Oh, my! Their exchange! LOVE IT!
And exactly when I was about to grin... 'she was all elegance and class and the easy familiarity with which she grabbed at Jim had a heavy lump forming deep in Pam’s chest.'
Okay, okay, I had to know that we should test our hearts first, continue.
'The Jim shaped wound' feels so, so real. Poor Pam...
'The funny thing about rock bottom was that it went a lot deeper than she thought.' Okay, right now, I want to scream to her that it's not over yet and there's only one way up.
What are you doing to us, Jenna?
I totally can't blame Pam for wanting to leave...
'It wasn’t what it looked like.' Oh god, I hate that expression so, so much (buuut it suits too well for Jim right now, or, at least, before he could explain himself...)
Do I love when they fight over the aftermath of the CN event? Yes.
I skipped a little the part about Pam wandering and thinking of being killed (not worth it, Pam, trust me), and then...
“It’s always going to be you for me.” Okay, okay, I'm okay, but you should know, Jenna, that you'll kill me that way one day. Just saying.
“I was kidnapped.” Oh boy, I need to know everything about that!
It's 9:30 a.m., I still have icy coffee in my cup, but I couldn't care less about that now. It's a fantastic journey! Thank you so much for writing it!
And I'm looking forward to the bonus chapter ;)

Author's Response: Oh Dernhelm, I adore your reviews so much. You have such a way with words. I’m sorry that your coffee went cold as you were reading, but not sorry at all that you included that detail because it’s such a compliment!

When I started to read, my first thought was, 'Ugh, Danny, no, he's the worst!'
My next was 'Regency? Regency? Did I read it correctly? Regency?!'
And then it was a little blurry.
Well, no, I'm exaggerating here a little, I'm just very excited about the Regency era (heck, I'm even going to include a Regency piece into my currently writing chapter!).
I'm going to write my impressions immediately as I'm reading, I hope you won't mind.
'walk through fire' what a cute nod to the canon!
Elle... Ella... Cinderella? Just thinking aloud...
Is her brother the one I'm thinking about?..
YES! Oh, yes!
Excuse me, I need to fan myself at the hero's appearance.
Okay, I'm good now. Continue.
'The lavish mansion turned into the belly of some scaly beast, drawn into the world from the dusty pages of mythology to swallow her whole.' I like this description so much!
And then... okay, here I am, a melted puddle of goo, type this. Their meeting is melodramatic and so, so sweet!
“Why Sir James, whatever do you mean? Surely a gentleman such as yourself has the constitution to maintain decorum whilst around a lady.” oh, I laugh aloud at this part! It's so cool, and so in style!
“Dwight Schrute in a dress.” And this one too!
Oh my gosh, William is amazing! I like that he doesn't immediately find Jim nice and tries to protect Pam (even if she doesn't need that).
And their discussion about that life isn't a fairy-tale... bringing us back to reality, but in the best possible way.
And the ending is beautiful. Sweet and beautiful and everything between.
Thank you so much for writing this love story and for making my evening so bright!

Author's Response:

This review made me laugh several times. I'm just tickled you picked up on so many of the details. Yup she's wearing a regency gown. Mainly because I couldn't really place the time period of the dress TSwift wears in the music video and a Regency dress seemed easier to describe anyway.

I do love me a dramatic entrance. That one was fun.

The decent to the depths followed by the raising to the light and Jim was a fun thing to put in for me too. Then they lapse back into banter but now they can kick it up a notch. If Dwight in a dress isn't an instant boner killer, I don't know what is.

Yes, the do live in the real world, not their fantasy at the ball. But they come through for each other. I loved writing that.

Really glad you liked this one and thank you so much for an epic review.

Summary:

Somewhere between Casino Night and Gay Witch Hunt. Pam's honest thoughts over her feelings for Jim, and he leaving for Stamford, as she's parked in front of his former apartment.

I'm not going to ask you how you are so genius.
I'm not going to tell you how much I love your style — I hope you've already known that (but I do, I love it so much!)
I'm not going to describe all the feelings that flooded me while I was reading (but that's only because I'm not sure I have enough words to embody them).
I'd like to quote my favorite lines, but there are so many of them that I need a separate comment for it. A chapter-size comment.
I have a question, though. That picture Pam was talking about in Paris — is it a real piece of art? Your description of it fascinated me, and I'd like to see it!
Thank you so much for your story in a fantastic AU!

Author's Response: As always, thank you so very much Dernhelm! Your reviews are always so fantastic. So, the painting. I wanted it to be an actual painting. I even thumbed through some of my Louvre books I got when I was there in February but nothing quite fit what I wanted to convey. So, all this to say, no, it doesn't actually exist. I wanted to hint at my other evermore chapter coming up (because I'm weird like that, and like to tie things together) and touch on some of her insecurities as well, so I just made up a narrative analysis. Some of the the paintings in the Louvre are as large as a house though! ;) Thank you again, lady!

I want to hate it, but I can't, and I'm just very weepy at the moment. It was a heartbreakingly incredible journey, and, reading this, I had to remind myself that there will be better times for Pam (since every 'bottle' hit so hard that I need some time to compose myself).
Two moments that shot me right through my heart: 'even evergreen things die eventually' and Midas allusion (I love myths and that suits depressed Pam so, so well).
Thank you so much!
P.S. I feel I made the right choice of not reading all of your updates at once. Safe the new chapter of MiS for a dessert :)

That awkward moment when you hate yourself a little for being a JAM fan :)
But I love this AU very much, and you wrote their turmoils with fans, cameras and watching themselves on the screen so very well! It feels so real, like a missing piece of a puzzle from the canon, and I like it.
Oh, and I, probably, in love with angry Pam. She's awesome.
Thank you very much for your story!

Author's Response: Thanks Dernhelm! Yeah, I've written angry Pam a lot -  maybe I'm projecting! I just think that although I love Jim, he has some personality quirks that would drive me insane. Thank you for your kind words, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

That was a hard reading (and I had to make a few pauses to respire a little), but wow! That's fantastic. I love its realism and Pam's escape (I'm a sucker for 'Pam saves herself' and 'Jim in shining armor' tropes, and here we have both! yay!), and the structure with presence and memories is amazing. Thank you!
I'm dying to know what happens after June the 10th, but, of course, it's up to you. Thank you once more!
