this is my favorite version of a proposal story so far. it's not overly romantic, but he still plans it out and is preciously sweet and i love it. i LOVE that Pam is friends with old Jewish women in her apartment building and that Jim is Jewish. i absolutely love Jonathan, and I love seeing how different people write him, but this is just precious. how he teases Jim and then is just perfectly big brother to Pam. I love it. I'm off to read the third chapter. :)

This will be a series of self-contained chapters (oneshots) exploring various "what ifs" pertaining to episodes spanning seasons one through three. Each chapter will examine how things would've gone differently if either Jim or Pam had responded to a given situation the way that (most) fans had wanted or almost expected them to.
For example, the first chapter focuses on how things would've happened differently if Jim had confessed during those twenty-seven seconds of silence on the booze cruise when we were all holding our breath and hoping he would.
Among the other chapters I have mapped out: What if all the reminders of Jim in "Gay Witch Hunt" had provoked not a small, sad smile from Pam at the end of the episode, but rather, had motivated her to take action -- drive to Stamford to see him for the first time in four months? Or what if Jim had responded to Pam's text in "Diwali" via a post-Jagermeister phone call? What if Jim had walked in on Pam crying at the end of "Back From Vacation"? (...You get the idea.)
Again, though, each chapter will be confined to an episode, so it will essentially be a series of oneshots that are unrelated to each other.

i love this. i love that they're so in love, that kelly comforts jim, that he PROPOSED!!! but most of all, i love that Pam doesn't automatically happily adjust to life in Brooklyn. i love it! these last two chapters were perfect. i love the resolution and that it happened quickly, yet not perfectly. leaving it open ended is wonderful too. i'm assuming you're not writing an epilogue type thing? I think it's pretty incredible as is. anyway, i love love love it. great job!

ok. you are fast becoming my favorite person ever. first of all Drunk!Jam is the best. Drunk because they were hanging out with Jim's friends and he loves her more than he ever has before is even better. and then Pam steals my heart by picking one of (i will confess) my FAVORITE guilty pleasure songs. love it. absolutely love it. :) this chapter is my favorite thing ever.

woah. that was intense. but still really good. i like that Jim isn't perfect here, and neither is Pam. most of what they're fighting about is ridiculous, but it's real and insecure and honest. great job :)

there are not words for how beautiful this is. it hits home with me too b/c my PaPa just passed away and i think all the time how sad i am that my future husband will never get to meet him... and that moment of clarification Pam has is just... beautiful. i love this.
