Mmmkay, so how is it that I haven't read this yet?  Because yes, yes, YES, and thank you.

...she's always wondered if he'd fit in her car.  I want to marry this line, please.

I love that you include how Pam's uncomfortable with everything that's happening, the way Jim's changing her radio stations and leaving his hand on her knee -- it makes sense that they're not going to fall into things easily and perfectly and instantly.

That bit with Pam comforting Michael about Ryan leaving is priceless.  The juice and the crying and the TWSS.  I love it.

And this whole thing just BREAKS ME for being so realistic in that things don't always work out, even though they should, even though you want them to.  There's quite a bit of history between them and sometimes it can be too hard to get past all that.

On the other hand, you could always just continue this and give me a happy ending.  I guess I wouldn't really mind that. ;)

Fabulous, my dear.  Love to see such a long piece from you!

Author's Response: Haha, I think I originally posted this on LJ when you were in....Brazil?  (You went to Brazil, right?)  But thank you so much, I'm so glad that you liked it!  As for the happy ending, the ending is whatever you want it to be, so you can just imagine away and that is the ending you get!  And this is SO LONG, I know - I don't know what got into me, all I've been writing in the past few months are these ridiculously long things.  Weird.  :)

Looove this, with the perfect outsider's perspective, with Mose and his pet mouse, both secretly glad to be done with Angela and her cats!  Great dialogue and wonderful idea.  This was a real treat.

Author's Response: Thanks, allibabab :)

Summary: Past Featured Story

What if Pam refused to let Angela drop her off at home after the Dundies?

“I want to go to Jim’s,” Pam said, interrupting Angela’s thoughts.

Angela felt as though her head might pop off and land in one of her cup holders. Would the depravity of this night never end?

Oh lord.  I wasn't sure if I was going to review, but I have to now.  How could I pass up the opportunity to quote hilarious lines back to the author?  Like the one about Angela's frown deepening (in emotional intensity!) and her cats' pink eye and the goggles and Angela and Pam being 'girls' and nnnngggh.  What fun!

I love the way this transitions so easily between seriousness and the funny bits -- of which there are many, by the way.  The part about Pam helping buy her own ring but still not wanting Jim to tell her it was all a waste -- I love the realism of it.  That was probably my favorite part of this chapter, which is saying something because I laughed straight out loud at least three times.

Hooray for chaptered stories!  Onward!

Be aggressive!  Be, be aggressive!

And you ended it with Dwight/Angela.  How did you know?

This was so much fun.  I haven't been reading much fanfiction lately, but I'm so glad I forayed into it again for this.  Wonderful characterizations, hilarious, sweet, fitting!  Thanks very much for sharing.

Jim and Donna... never thought about it, actually, but you're right.  They're in the same boat, sort of.  You wrote their voices really well.

And did I mention that you fucking rule for writing a WW/Office crossover?  Really.  Rock on.

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous.  I love all the sensory details in this, the blue sky and red desert and long shadow of the bus pulling away.  I love Jim Googling her and finding her but not letting himself believe it's really her, that she's really done it.  I love that they both let go of things to hold on to each other.  I love that she deletes the one new message and gets rid of all of her cardigans.  This just felt so much like... well, what I imagine it felt like for Pam.  A breath of fresh air, movement, change, things getting better.

Fantastic.  You really, really have captured Pam in this.

Oh, lovely, lovely, lovely.  So many good lines in here, but I think this is my favorite:  Not surprisingly, he bleeds everywhere, all over her, and she sits on the floor in the hall, crying, simultaneously missing him and wishing he'd disappear.  I really like the way you play with how Pam feels about Jim, about their relationship, about herself, and how it seems like it's going to work out but it's not like she doesn't have her doubts.  Really nicely done!

Author's Response: thank you so much! this was great fun to craft, not only to put pam in nyc, but to stretch them and see how far they'd go.  i think they've been through so much.  i look at s3 and think, you all are going to get married soon?  i think they have a lot of work to do, so i'd like to see more of the growing pains.
