Summary:

Pam decides to write angry letters without sending them. Or, well, the modern equivalent thereof. A fun little romp of a story!

AU: Canon divergence. Pam doesn't get back together with Roy in season 3. She leaves the wedding when he asks her to dance. They are not together for her art show. They don't go to Poor Richard's, she doesn't tell him about the kiss with Jim, and he never tries to attack Jim in the office.

I clicked on MTT's twitter link to check out this story, and had to login to MTT for the first time in a long, long time so I could review this. Kudos. I'm only on the 1st chapter, but I'm enjoying it. Although I did tear up a bit, so is "enjoy" the right word? ;)

I'm glad to see it's complete. Now I know how I'll spend the next bit of time. I'm so glad I don't have to be anywhere for a while!

As a mom, I was thinking that I'd never call Roy's mom in that situation, but then I thought more about it. The two moms have probably seen each other a number of times over the years and had dinners together and such. It makes sense that they'd talk, and that Helene would be the one to start that.

Author's Response: Yeah I figured Roy and Pam have been living as though they're married for several years at this point, what with the shacking up and the very-long engagement. I also envision Helene as being just a very warm person who loves almost everybody (more Shannon Cochran in Season 2 than what's her name in Seasons 5+). Plus, Pam tells her mom everything, so it seemed to make sense.

Author's Response: Definitely did! I'm not sure how 100% accurate everything is, since I'm a NY native, but I have a very personal interest/experience in recovering from domestic violence. So I tried to do my honest best.

Author's Response: Good call! I actually considered that. If I'd written the middle part of the story in more detail (instead of just doing the catch-up Time in a Bottle chapter), I think I would have had Pam move in with Jim's parents for a little while. I was starting to get a little bored with the story, though, honestly.

I'm guessing Pam told her mom that she loved Jim when telling her the wedding was called off!

Author's Response: She could have. I was more basing that confession on the Casino Night telephone conversation where Pam says, "I think I am" in response to an unknown question from her mother. My assumption (is this canon? I'm not sure) is that Pam had told her mom about the kiss, and her mom asked if she loved Jim.
