Bio:
I thought I was just here to read, but I guess I ended up writing a little. My bad. :)
I'm switching to Yes on beta-reader, because I should have more time now that I've finished my own recent story and I'll probably take a break from writing. I don't know how many requests will come from that, so I reserve the right to change back to No if I get overwhelmed. :) But I am an unrepentant grammar Nazi, and have edited a LOT in the past, so I'm totally up for a little beta.

OMFG, I am dead. Killed. This? Is freakin' awesome:
"It's simple." His lips graze the top of her head as he whispers almost too low for her to hear. "Choose me."
Author's Response:
I so wish that's what happened.
I was so optimistic in those days. SIGH.
Date: April 29, 2007 Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1
I'm so glad you linked this story, because it's wonderful. I'm so happy I have something awesome to read!
This was perfect (LOVE Jim being forceful):
"I'm not going to back off. I'm done with that. Sorry if it inconveniences you but I'm not going to just forget that when I kissed you - you kissed me back."
Author's Response: Awww. I love that you're reading this now. I wasn't even going to link it's so obsolete. Glad you're liking it!
Date: April 30, 2007 Title: Chapter 15: Chapter 15
Well, dammit. You have made me cry. That's just not nice. And yet, it's...FREAKIN' AWESOME.
Sorry, but that was seriously about the sweetest thing ever. I love this story. And I'd say even more great things about it if it weren't almost 1 a.m. and I didn't have to get up for work in 6 hours.
So, yeah: IT ROCKED. I loved it.
This was great:
"I mean, look at me. I’m so freakishly tall I don’t think anyone else will have me.”
Ha! Great story, great romance, great banter. Love it. Love.
Date: April 30, 2007 Title: Chapter 14: Chapter 14
SQUEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay, that's about all I can say. I'm too happy to type.
Date: April 30, 2007 Title: Chapter 13: Chapter 13
It's so cute that she's making him wait. Aww! Poor Jim. And, for that matter, poor Pam, because how could anyone resist Jim? He's immeasurably cute!
Date: April 30, 2007 Title: Chapter 12: Chapter 12
Big, giant SIGH OF HAPPINESS for this chapter. I love this:
“I can’t believe how easy it is to cross state lines. Without a passport even. Who knew I could actually drive my car out of Pennsylvania?”
Ha! Their dialogue is so great. Very believable.
Date: April 30, 2007 Title: Chapter 11: Chapter 11
Ahhhhh. Great chapter. So happy. Mmmmm.
Date: April 30, 2007 Title: Chapter 10: Chapter 10
Pam's internal dialogue is consistently great in this story. While she's saying one thing, she's thinking another, and that is so like her. It's also a pretty typical thing for us women to do, so I can totally relate.
Date: April 29, 2007 Title: Chapter 8: Chapter 8
Okay, I'm starting to feel a little better now. Oh, I'll stop playing it cool: YIPPEE! Yay for Scheming!Pam!
Date: April 29, 2007 Title: Chapter 7: Chapter 7
Well, I'm still sad, but at least Roy finally got the picture. Now on with the happy ending! In...a few more chapters. Sigh. How can I wait that long??? ;)
Date: April 29, 2007 Title: Chapter 6: Chapter 6
Oh, weep! I'm inconsolable! Well, okay, Jim being a purple belt at Parcheesi kind of helps. A little. But I want a happy ending, so I'm gonna keep reading until I get one!
Date: April 29, 2007 Title: Chapter 5: Chapter 5
You did a great job of making the conversation realistic. Even if Roy is a thoughtless jerk, it's still going to be hard for Pam, because you don't spend 10 years with someone and not care about him. It was heart-wrenching to read, and I could imagine just what Pam was thinking: without Jim right in front of her, reminding her that he's the only one for her, it's easy to worry more about hurting Roy than about hurting herself.
Well, enough psychoanalysis, huh? Another great chapter.
Date: April 29, 2007 Title: Chapter 4: Chapter 4
Again, great chapter. I love Pam's internal dialogue here:
Stop running Pam. Aren't you tired? What would it be like if you just gave in? You could still get married, it just won't happen in three weeks. You could be happy. He'll make you happy. He'll take care of you. He'll make you laugh. You already know that. Be honest. FOR ONCE. You already know…
It's perfect.
Date: April 29, 2007 Title: Chapter 3: Chapter 3
God, I wish Jim had done this on the show. I wish he'd insisted Pam be honest with him--and with herself. But I guess I'll just have to be patient...and read fic whenever my patience wanes. :)
On a nitpicky, technical note, you might want to pay a bit more attention to your punctuation around dialogue. When you're attributing dialogue, you don't need a new sentence with a capital letter.
Like, for instance, here: "You really don't know do you?" He says softly.
That should be like this: "You really don't know do you?" he says softly.
Because "he says softly" isn't a sentence on its own. It's there to explain what's in the quotes.
Well, anyway, you probably know all of that, but your stories are so good that I want them to read as smoothly as possible. :)
Author's Response:
You know what? This was written back in the day when I was writing only for me. So this story (and anything before it) was completely unbeta'd.
Truthfully - I did not even notice I was doing that. I am so very glad you brought it up - because just as you want them to read smoothly - I want my stories to be written smoothly and I've certainly been remiss in that particular regard.
So thank you SO MUCH!
Date: April 29, 2007 Title: Chapter 9: Chapter 9
Oooooh. I love this chapter. Love. So many quotable lines that I think I have to quote some of them:
"I beg to differ. I'm scrappy. I can give you a run for your money."
Ha! Go Pam, you scrappy thing, you!
"Excuse me." He leans close and whispers in her ear. "I need to ask you a question. Are you playing footsie with me?"
That is SO Jim. And hilarious, too!
"Tough. You said you wanted slow. That's what you're getting."
Ohhhh, he's so mean! And yet, to be fair, that is what she wanted. Bet she had no idea how much she'd live to regret those words.

Okay, overall story? SQUEEEEEEE! Epilogue, with Dwight? BWAH HA HA HA! If it's indulgent, then I think you were indulging on behalf of frickin' everyone, because it was wonderful. One of my top 10 favorite Jam stories of all time.

Hooray for Space Invaders!
Oh, wait...was this not about video games? Well, either way, it was fabulous. I could totally see that image of Pam in the sheet, and Jim transfixed by it. Sigh...such a pretty image.
Author's Response: You know, that gives me an idea...now that I've covered Maps, I ought to explore the motif of video games. Genius! Anyway, I think this was like my second story ever...I re-read those first few now, and they just seem so clunky to me now (and some of the wording - oy vay.) So I cringe a little at them, but have to say, I still like the notion of that image of Pam (don't know if you saw that photo of JF) having Jim transfixed (good word for it, btw.) Glad you enjoyed - and thanks so much for being such a diligent reviewer!

Ha! Okay, yeah, it's wrong on so many levels, but on the other hand, I think Jan at that point was just fundamentally disgusted with herself already, and Jim was used to being with women he didn't love (the NotPams of the world), so it makes a certain kind of sense. A certain perverted kind of sense...
Not to mention how interesting it would be if this had really happened, considering how hard Jan ended up pushing Jim toward taking the #2 position in Scranton when the branches merged. Hee! Makes ya wonder just how much she had to do to get him to take that job... ;)
Author's Response: This scenario would've upset A LOT of people, but I can still imagine it having happened. Thanks, invis!

Aw. This was really sweet, with the texting and the phone call. And of course Andy was entertaining, as always. I love the way Pam texts. I'm the exact same way--totally anal about spelling and punctuation--which is why I never text. :)

Oh, I am dead. I have honestly passed away. This did me in right here:
When there wasn't any hesitation in your voice during your vows, I put it there for you. For myself. I put pauses where I thought there should be pauses, would be pauses if you knew that right then, right when he was slipping that ring onto your finger, I still loved you more than I thought possible.
That killed me. Killed me dead. I have ceased to be. I am an ex-parrot.
Deep feelings, small words. Sometimes less is more it seems. And we all want more.
